Wow mind blowing lecture . According to the math and graphs, he does have an instance of a Warp Bubble Signature. Now its just validation, interesting to say the least. And a Q thruster does produce what he says it does thrust. Now he is trying to use science and math to see if their is maybe a better design for the Q thruster. The math and science now has to catch up to the actual working device. Their is things we use in our lives today that science has yet to catch up to. It doesn't stop us from using them or making them useful.

Ruben A That's because real science has required millions of years of evolution just so humans can evolve to the state where they can conceive the scientific method and finally be able to make sense of the natural world. Once of the requisite capacity, it still required hundreds of years and millions (billions?) of smart people dedicating their lives to scrutiny to get where we're at. Don't for a moment think anything in science is easy.

Amazing stuff. Seems like Dr. White has a gun pointed to his head when he doesn't say where this type of research could lead to if successful. I understand that it could make false hopes and promises but I think everyone just wants him to say we could travel the universe. All the best to him and his research, if it is successful it should be made a priority for NASA (if not I'm sure SpaceX would hire him).

The equations he's working with are a little bit more complicated than this generation of computers could run in any realistic time frame, he's going to need quantum computing in order to determine if any of this is actually feasible, so another ten years to wait for that technology to catch up, then if it bears fruit another ten to twenty years of design and research for practical application, potentially we could be exploring outside the solar system before the return of Haley's Comet.

The fact that the math largely checks out means by the time I die this may be a reality. I remember EmDrive (RF resonant cavity thrusters) being a joke but hearing the math is substantiated. Not too long ago it was proven to yield positive thrust. While these two are vastly different systems the fact that the math largely checks out means it stands a good chance of becoming reality in time.

Keith Kevelson It's usual practice to publish your results when your research is completely done and not in some intermediate state like this is. And of course he does everything because he wants NASA to give him private money LOL And yes like you said these effects are too small to be detected, except that he said that they have been detected LOL

Watched some of the videos on warp drive and found them quite interesting. I've been thinking about the energy problem. How to get the energy to create the bubble. As far as I know, if you have some bacteria that reproduce at an exponential rate, those things can pretty much become the size of Jupiter in a decent amount of time. Haven't actually done the calculation, but I saw someone else do it on a video and it was something like... maybe a month to become the size of Earth and then a few more days to become like Jupiter? Can something like this be grown in other space? No idea. But if it can be grown in other space, then such an organism wouldn't require anyone to add the mass by hand in order to create the bubble needed for space warp. It would only require someone to have on board the space craft the seeds, or whatever might They be, and let them loose in space an afterwards nature would just do it's course, and once the organism reaches the desired dimension, one kills it at the same time and it releases probably the desired energy. Plants accumulate energy by storing photons. And They multiply. If all that energy is released at once, it should cover up the energy expenditure of the warp drive process. Instead of using a detector that is man made to store the energy required to move, one can use plants that store this energy naturally and behave like a natural light detector. And if those plants are made to multiply at an exponential rate, They would in theory at least be able to store the desired amount of energy required by space warp. And then the trick is to make them release that energy all at the same time, in order to create that massive energetic bubble that You talk about.

No not yet, Dr Zefram Cochrane won't be born until the 2030's, and won't make his flight on board the Phoenix until sometime in 2063, if real life imitates the art of the film Star Trek: First Contact. The down side is that World War III will occur sometime before the Phoenix's first warp speed flight.

Just read Three Body Problem --partly---and the idea of a pendulum and the antenna signal amplified thru the sun was discussed. Perhaps this focus stems from the admission that our current energy is at a dead end. Wasn't an idea of Tesla's a concept about a change in the air pressure, etc in front of a craft to create a 'falling forward' as a way to go into future tech?

U.S. Air Force was capable to explore Solar system since about 1970 (when their material research lab developed samarium magnets). Magnetic drive is enough to fly to other planets. And if you aim to travel further (to the stars) - see quantum entanglement if you want to build an advanced engine. You may just let the electricity go through a wire, than it's being separated from one into TWO currents. Some of the electrons in these currents are entangled (it's better if it's 40-80%, and not 3-4% of course). Then you start to influence current A) with high-frequency magnetic field. For example, if you use 30 MHz to change the spin in current A) - current B) will receive 30 000 000 impulses per second. Even if they are weak, high frequency provides the thrust (and, as it's known, the speed of quantum entanglement interaction is above the speed of light). The only thing left is to place a crew cabin between current A) and B) - so it will receive the impulse coming through.

I DON'T GET A CONNECTION OF MASS ELIMINATION & WARPING SPACETIME: The socalled "Alcubierre-White" (Dr. Sonny White at NASA) spacetime warp drive enter planetary/interstellar ship concept indicates and explains that the torus or ring of the fictional spacecraft must be very thick (for optimal "York Time" of warping spacetime and that the crew section or fuselage in the middle must be located well within the torus or both torases ad indicated in the artist rendering of this video and not extending too far beyond rings or toruses. Dr. White's work (baby or toddler simplified) involves oscillating electrical power though the toruses or rings at such a hyper rate as to put everything in the immediate vicinity into a high dimension or "subspace." Mass or weight of the ship is eliminated and the ship no longer interacts with normal solid things or matter electromagnetically. Being massless, only a very slight push maybe an ion drive of today's technology would propel the ship up to light speed. (But actually warping spacetime I was thinking is different but would take a space craft well beyond light speed and I don't get the connection of warping spacetime with the White system warping spacetime.) However, oscillation of the torus into a higher dimension removing the mass or weight reminds me of a ghost able to "float" through a solid wall since the apparition vibrates on a higher dimension and does not interact with solid objects or things like a wall. And the ghost can travel without a speed limitation. FIVE MONTHS AGO, I COMMENTED: "Sonny" (with a really cool story and idea that is "PLAUSIBLE" i.e. believable although not "FEASIBLE" or not currently capable of being done) basically proposed to soften SPACE-TIME ("space") ... maybe in some not too far off future or hopefully just around the corner after I'm dead of course since I'm already an old guy ... by a dimensional shift using extremely rapid vibration of the "ring" around the ship in order to "soften" what is an extremely "stiff" space-time ... thus requiring far, far less energy to WARP space-time allowing the ship to "travel" within a warp-filed bubble faster than light ... expanding space-time behind and compressing space-time in front so the ship "surfs" forward like a surfer riding a wave toward the beach shore. Inside the warp "bubble," there is no time-dilation thus the people would age the same as those left behind on earth. This would allow for interstellar travel or travel to other planets or star systems in a few days and weeks instead of a few million years using today's fossil-fuel rocket technology (although ion-engines are already being used and could approach 10 -- 15 percent light speed over time but would also result in time dilation meaning astronauts maybe in generational ships would slower than people back on earth). But there are a couple of other ideas that are suppose to be even better and faster and requiring no separate energy shield to protect the craft from space debris during faster than light travel called the Alcubierre-Froning warp drive engine and another one by a Japanese physicist Dr. Musha (?) involving a different proposed futuristic technology ... and I'm not referring to "worm holes" the idea of which I personally do not like or believe will ever happen any more than "beaming" people or matter from place to place. The other engine ideas are on different videos, of course. It's all so exciting!!! Oh yes, an alien tech to warp space for some "flying saucers" involves making anti-matter as needed (instead of storing it in a magnetic bottle) to be combined with hydrogen ions (protons) as needed inside a chamber to generate extremely hot PLASMA immediately converted almost 100-percent into electricity stored in a large capacitor to energize three individually adjustable cylinders that create a space-time warp bubble around the ship or alien "saucer" craft thus allowing for FTL (faster than light) travel. It uses a small (small enough to fit between a finger and thumb) piece of element 115 that is placed in a small container of the ship and bombarded by protons that results in small amounts becoming element 116 that is a very unstable isotope with a half-life on a fraction of a second ... and that also released a small amount of ANTI-MATER sub-atomic particles. The anti-matter particles or anti-protons (or was it anti-electrons ... can't recall for sure) that are met in the plasma chamber by hydrogen ions meaning protons resulting in a violent reaction to generate an extremely hot plasma. This plasma heat is converted almost 100-percent into electricity that powers the warp cylinders I already described.

Can you use the electric currents ( Birkeland Currents ) between bodies in space instead of using 'exotic matter' engines? The currents being mapped by Voyager and IBEX could generate power, thrust, re-charge batteries, power a ramscoop and polywell and generate an EM field, etc.? Why brute force travel through 'void' space when 'energy highways' exist?
@tonyspilotro2598
@tonyspilotro2598 9 жыл бұрын
+Tony Tuthill The energy density of these currents of charged particles between planets would be far to low to provide any decent thrust, especially far from a planet. It consists of a plasma with a density much less than that of an average vacuum produced in a laboratory.

a momentum wake? then we are talking a kind of antigravity, aren't we? aka the good stuff :) I wonder how good the resonance is in the cavity and how much that matters. If there is some induced jitter that hurts efficacy. I also wonder if rather than an edged cavity, a rounded shape could work, possibly better. Maybe even a double saucer discus shape... :)

Why have the emdrive and cannae drives not been tested in a vacuum? You think it can be somehow pushing on quantum particles but not, say, air particles? NASA did test them recently in hard vacuum 10^-6 torr (or so) and guess what, they still work. This will probably not be put to rest (confirmed or infirmed) until it's tested in microgravity or we get newtons or thrust from a super Q cavity. Time to stock up on niobium...maybe? NO NO NO you are doing it all wrong;the speed of light is due to the permittivity and permeability of free space,Light does not have an absolute speed not relatively speaking anyway,we can slow light down and speed it up according to Maxwell's equations that is what determines the seed of light the density of space time;this is why light bends around a massive object,it is traveling slower because space time is denser or warped due to the mass.One need to evacuate the quantum vacuum zero point energy to create very low permittivity and permeability then the seed of light can approach infinity.Well in reality the seed of light does not change but the rate of time flow does relative to outside the bubble.Creating a bubble in space time is not so hard,imagine being in an evacuated space time bubble your rate of time flow will be many thousands of time faster than outside therefore your energy output will also be multiplied making it possible to create and maintain the bubble

I watched zubrin video before this, and he says 6 months to mars is gonna be the journey no matter the technology.

Basically atm, 100kw powerplant would generate 1N of thrust.

Zubrins a mars direct man, actually he is mars direct. For the past 20 years he's had his pony in the race for that mission plan. It's a very good example of how we can send a manned mars mission with current technology. And he has a known bias against most of NASA's propulsion programs ( this one has the smallest budget of them all). I take everything Zubrin says on the subject with a grain of salt.

Its not better than chemical rockets with current power sources...

Rok Adamlje actually it is better, its more adaptable. It is a plasma system like older ion engines. But capable of high thrust. Yes, you could get to mars with an ordinary kerosene rocket system like a Saturn five. But it would have to be split in multiple missions(or a giant rocket). Mars direct is the former and best with current technology(still takes six months). And vasmr can cut missions down to 39days for astronauts. But zubrin is right about the lack of a power source for such missions. But not for robotic missions. With the lighter payload, you could have ultra fast missions to the outer solar system(provided most of the weight is your nuclear energy). But the inner solar system would be no problem with abundant solar. Not to mention better fuel efficiency( swerving between any thrust you want with digital accuracy ). Its the hybrid of the deep space exploration world. It be a great tool, not a waste of money like the shuttles were.

Simple to design a simulation of any shape RF resonant cavity using CST Microwave studio reveals that sum of Lorentz forces acting up on wall of a cavity is always equal to zero which means that no external force is generated, period!!

It's a recording of a live lecture, by a scientist. It's not a play, nor a speech. If common speech patterns distract you to this extreme, then in all likelihood you have a neurodevelopmental disorder and maybe you should take that into account before posting whiny bullshit.

My guess is that you weren't listening.... or this is too difficult a subject for you so you resort to deriding the speech pattern (which in my view is better than most). You're probably better off listening to one of Rihanna's song. It goes something like this: . . . But she's thinking of you uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh . . . . . . . . . You uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh . . . .

Im very disappointed with NASA. The past 40 years or so. With the announced testing of the albacore math, I had high hopes for the research being done with it. Instead another let down with this brief. I got more info from grad students testing prototypes and showing results. checkout spacewarp on youtube. NASA why is it these guys are doing more testing on folding space time with no budget then you are with?

Jees where have does the ames went to with research. Kinda funny there are so many wrong phrases based on so much wrong physics that is not correct and probably quite a bit of pseudomathematics. Quite a few things wrong about the basic universe postulates including space.
