@@JV-pu8kx He was the impetus to get Stargate Command started. If you didn't have Spock, Kirk, McCoy, etc. you'd still have Starfleet / the Federation. If SUPERMAN, Batman, Spiderman or Captain America were never conceived, you'd have a gazillion other superheroes. Daniel Jackson is unique. ( 25 December, 2023 )

If MGM isn't doing any sequels anytime soon, couldn't they go back in the archives and remaster the old shows. Release them in HD / 4k with updated CGI That would go a long way

Maybe remasters, but update CGI is just never going to happen. The fact they closed down the main site to concentrate on the KZfaq channel should be an indication of how much resources they want to devote to the tiny community we are.

@@ALAPINO That and a website like Stargate Command is just massively outdated. Nobody distributes content like that anymore, and it took them way too long to figure that out. A strictly social media presence is the way forward until something concrete is announced.

@@CompactDisc7227 Reality doesn't support your assertion. If the community was several millions, SG properties would not have been cancelled. SGU would have continued to this day. There are a lot of us who are fans of SG, but sadly, for whatever reason our support was still not enough. At the end of the day, MGM is running a business and cult followings are rarely financially viable properties.

@@ALAPINO SGU would died anyway because of MGM bankruptcy. For SyFy SGU was too expensive to handle it alone. I dont think that it could be at least 3rd season. But still it was a masterpeice. And i dont care about stupid haters.

@@lazy_riveN The viewership is the only thing that counted, and it was clear it wasn't there. It was absolutely a "masterpiece" that sadly no one watched, for whatever reason. I doubt we'll ever really know what happened, at least anytime soon. My thinking at the time there must have been more going on as surely SyFy must have acquired the rights to air for pennies on the dollar. Who knows? The only thing that's not conjecture here is that we have no quality SG at the moment.

For me Michael Shanks was an inspiration. When Martin Gero said he is good looking he s wrong! He s extremely good looking and a very intelligent person in real life too! He was my man crush back then, I would of totally went to bed with him without even thinking it! 😁

SGU had its amazing moments, it just was a different type of vibe compared to the usual happy endings from previous incarnations. They were on an ancient ship that could dip inside a star and they managed to create a new human civilization far away 2,000 years ago

This isnt the answer we’re all asking (what happened to Wednesdays?). But, The website says: they’re ending their website & transitioning their content to youtube. Im assuming to this channel. This is an oct 25th 2019 post on their site & this content will be here on 31.12.19. (See the link on the info section of the page). Perhaps they’re too busy to do the Wednesday night viewings until then? We can only speculate as they haven’t mentioned why to us so far. I did notice over the previous couple of years of being a member here, that viewership was on the declined- so perhaps thats why they’re not doing it any more. Either way we would appreciate an answer of any sort. & to the hardworking people @stargate command - we appreciate all that you’ve done, to keep the memory alive in our hearts. Thank you!

I am so glad they went with traditional puppets for the SG franchise. Despite however good CGI can be, there is always something about it that screams "Video game". Puppets may look plastic, but they are real physical objects, and that looks far more realistic.

its pretty hard to continue the show? sg1 and and sga was long cancelled(10+years ago) and the actors have moved on, and got much older so it would be wierd to continue sga. Same goes for sgu(8+years), the same thing happened, they moved onto other things and their physical appearance changed drastically. We can try to look at Discovery for example, cbs remade star trek, just so they can drive subscribers to thier streaming service, the show itself isnt canon at all. Maybe if a network will pick it up and make it as bad as discovery maybe people will come back.

The fact that they speak quickly well emphasizes their intelligence - when you are very smart and talk with an equally smart person, you try to fit as much information as possible in a shorter period of time in order to quickly convey this information to the interlocutor, and since the interlocutor is just as smart, he able to receive this information even faster than you can speak. This is where the concept of telepathy came into play. It's like wi-fi instead of bluetooth.

the space suites came from the destiny era of the alteran ppl. but it was weird seeing them in the episode when the Asgard wearing them in sga. only these suites seemed to be a bit more advanced to fit the Asgard body type and add strength. but how did these Asgard obtain these alteran space suites in the first place? i know they were resourceful within their own advancements and tech, but these space suites were clearly alteran. but they seemed to be isolated from the other Asgard, when they didn't know about how the others essentially killed themselves. the Asgard in the Pegasus galaxy didn't really seem to flinch at their own race taking mass genocide as a protection so other races could not obtain their tech except for the ppl of earth. i just found this interesting.

Based on seniority I would say that Shanks was paied better.. He renegociated his contract when he came back in season 7 or 6.. He left for a season and came back under a new contract

Are there Blu-rays of SG-1 and Atlantis? I know a lot of shows that got revived from high sales of the DVD's. If the* community should set a date before the holidays and buy them around the same time. Even studios can't say no to $$$'s Just a optimistic idea, don't @ me ;)

@@lasarith2 I forget the past was so recent sometimes. But either way I'm still pissed. The Masters no doubt have been digitized. Reexporting at a higher resolution is not a complicated process. I know it takes time but we are talking about a 6 minute video. This just speaks volumes about how this is only about squeezing the last few dollars they can out of this property. Ugh.

Mainly puppets where you see them stationary. If you saw movement and/or full body then that was CGI.

I personally thing it took a maiming injury with how the Weir storyline went. Not necessarily that she died, but the way it panned out in the Artificial Ascension storyline. Though personally i love her chemistry and heart when she was the civilian commander.
