Dr. Jeff O'Driscoll’s motto is "I Exist To Help Souls Heal". He's a speaker, author and spiritual mentor.
Jeff O'Driscoll, MD, practiced emergency medicine in a level-one trauma center for twenty-five years, and served as department chair for eight. He received his training at the University of Utah School of Medicine and completed his residency in Salt Lake City, Utah. He is board certified in internal medicine and is a fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians.
Dr. O'Driscoll recently stepped away from practicing medicine to pursue consulting and to write. His recent books include a novel, Who Buried Achilles?, a series of children's books about Muck the Duck and friends, and his award-winning memoir, Not Yet, focusing on his spiritual encounters in the emergency department.
Dr. O’Driscoll’s encounters with the spirits that frequent the ER are filled with insights and encouragement. His candour and vulnerability are compelling. His story is transformative.

04:12 I was driving a rapid response car ( NHS emergency EMS) here in the UK. It was 0300 am and I was driving fast down country roads going to a chest pain with blue lights on . A voice gently spoke to me as I approached a corner, "be careful , and slow down now", oddly I obeyed. It was not said as words but was very, very real. As I turned the next corner after slowing there was a adult stag deer standing in the road. If I had not heard that voice I would have killed it , that would have been very sad for me because I love animals. I will never forget that.

When my Dad passed I had several message dreams from him. One that meant the most was he appeared and I felt like I was in a terminal/hangar of an airport. I was so thrilled to see him. I remarked, “But I thought you were dead?” He looked at me (he was his 74 yr old self) and said, “they don’t call it that here...” I questioned and said, “What do they call it then?” He looked at me and over my shoulder where laughter from his grandkids was coming from. “Transfigured. That’s what they call it.” I was staring and said, “I don’t understand. What’s transfigured?” Right in front of me he transformed from my 74 year old Dad to this young slender, dark haired man who was glowing. “Oh my gosh! Dad! Can I touch you?” He nodded and I touched his cheek. It was smooth and felt alive. In real life he would have had a thick bearded stubble on his face. I heard the grandkids in my dream again and looked away lost in what they were doing. I remembered my dad and glanced back and he was his older self. He told me to quit looking for him. He was always there... but in my searching for his presence I will miss the present. There was more to the dream but this was so striking to me.

I love this, Goldrush40. So powerful. When I saw the soul of an elderly woman leave her body at death, she appeared in the prime of life, about half the age of her physical form. I know of other similar accounts. "Transfigured"--I love that.

Doctor Jeff I wish I could take credit for it.... I’m just the relay messenger! Several years ago I was at the bedside of a 92 year old woman who outlived most of her family and She was dying in her nursing home. She was sharp as a tack! As we we sat quietly in her room, she started talking to her husband and son. I listened. Then she started talking about this beautiful woman/angel and then began raising her arms upward and said, “don’t leave without me” she looked at me and said “I’m going home!” She passed within the next few minutes. I think there are so many beautiful stories to be a part of if we will listen! Thank you for sharing yours!

I have gone in twice already for the transplant but the donor organs were not usable. I hope this third time is a charm. I'm scared. LOL I'm going to be filleted open like a fish. I know that if I die, it will be time, but they have a high success rate and I think I am going to be ok. I'm glad that I am going to be OUT of it during the procedure. Profound interview. I had forgotten, or not heard before much of what i learned in this interview. I know Jeff via Jeff Olsen and the UT IANDS mtgs. Having experienced and passionately lived 2 religions, for half a century, i set myself free 25 years ago. And this is my take on it (knowing that my Soul, my Higher Self, is allknowing, is pure, is one with Source, with God): the institutions keep You from connecting with you. The "still small voice" becomes the Holy Ghost, the preacher on the pulpit is supposedly inspired and closer to God that we are, etc. Consequently, when You (your Soul) wants to communicate with you, your eartly incarnation, you doubt Yourself and you give away your Power. But: All the Knowing, all the answers, all the wisdom is already within us, and we need to honor that, we need to honor ourselves, our Higher Selves, our Souls. We need to return home to ourselves, the Selves who are one with God. We Are That. Institutions can give us community, and that can be lovely if you can stay grounded and not waver and let the pulpit preachings lull you into silencing yourSelves. One more item: these are great times of enlightenment, we're going collectively through dark times in order to awaken and rise above greed, immoral economies, racism and devision. That's why this is happening now. Dark leadership holding up a mirror: do we want corruption of people, planet and systems? Or do we want compassion, integrity and moral economies? This collective Dark Night of the Soul is the impetus to go inward, and search what we already know. This time We don't have to be burned at the stake for choosing Enlightenment like the Cathars, we don't have to go into hiding for Knowing... well, perhaps i should say: we should not have to, but Inherently institutions are machines of judgement and this is , sadly, preached in cotton covered words. Thank you both for this interview, loved every minute of it. Namaste from Holland

Wow, that whole bit around 22:00 about the reason we go through horrible experiences. to gain empathy, and in turn help others through what we learned, from going through it ourselves. That really resonates. As that is my dream after a long battle with opiate addiction. I'm now almost 7 years clean and my dream goal is to help others overcome their addictions as i truly know what it's like and how helpless and hopeless one feels. Maybe that's one of my purposes here, to overcome mine and help those still struggling.

Wonderful interview!! Very profound. These give me so much comfort as I have had many panic attacks due to death. Especially thinking of my loved ones and pets dying before me... I still recall as if it were yesterday, my mom remembers too. I was only 5 yrs old. My mom and I were staying the night at my aunt Wendy's and uncle Blair's home. My mom and I were on the couch trying to sleep and there was a death documentary on that my mom was watching. As she thought I was asleep. I was listening and became so upset it was overwhelming. I started panicking about my mom dying and others dying and leaving me etc...it was also thundering and lightning outside wich added to my dramatic feeling. My mom had to hold my hand and walk me around the dinning and living room to calm me down. Lasted a while. I still remember how overwhelmed I felt. Since then I've lost many loved ones including beloved pets. One was extra traumatic as i was only 15 my first true love my bf/bestfriend Joey died suddenly being hit by a car. I wanted to die and tried, it was a long hard road and the greif led to addictions and recovery has only been achieved in recent year's. Im now 33. I now have a teen on my own now my daughter is turning 16 Nov 25th...another person to worry about lol. I get so much comfort from these that we will all be together again. I have to hold onto that.

It's great to see all these experiences told from the perspective of professional health carers - especially physiciians, surgeons and even scientists. Nurses were always ones to talk of these things. I worked as a nurse in many specialisms in UK for years. But the irony was - one place I worked in - surgical - I spoke to head nurse about the holisitic approach to health care coming in then. And not leave out the 'spiritual' as that is where I felt a lot of wounding and so healing took place. She pah pah'd me off and told me to ignore it. I was asked to sit with a dying woman last year. Help organise things which I did gladly. One of the daughters had been married to a brother of mine and was a saint - she too worked in hospital but this was too much for her. I get palliative care called in and one of the nurses called to sit one night is the sister from all those years ago. Remembered me. We chatted and got on great. When the woman died I could sense it - you get to know. I let family all in around bed - at home - and stood back. I could not see but had the strongest sense that the wall opposite the dying woman opened - like a portal or something and others stepped through. Then a few seconds later, as if they were taking her with them, I felt a hand on my left shoulder. Not a visbible hand - but solid like a man's hand as if saying 'well done'. I was always good with the dying of any age and would have loved hospice care. But my own health took a toll. Maybe I'll just get called if and when needed like last year. I pray for all all the time - especially those caught in dark places in this world or any other.

I really loved the messages in this video. For the first half of my life, I thought I only needed to show people why my opinion was right and they would change their mind to my way of thinking. But slowly through years of lots of emotional issues I learned better. It is such a relief to not feel I need to get people to see my way of thinking. To be able to say "you are on your path and I am on mine" is freeing. It has a lot more depth than saying " I agree to disagree". The acceptance of people's different thoughts and beliefs are beautiful and poweful.. It took many decades.but I finally learned acceptance w/o the desire to change someone. Now if I can take this into my next lifetime and know from birth this acceptance, that would be my spiritual evolution.

Thanks Silvia and Dr. Jeff! I was eagerly waiting for your next video and it was well worth it! So much Soul Food here. I'd like to share some of my favorite parts: 21:47 - "The primary purpose of every experience is to enable you to help someone else. You get the secondary benefit of personal growth." 33:52 - "And I've come to the point where I am inclined to think that everybody is on their path and their path is fine for them. It's the path they're supposed to be on. And when I finally got to the point where I could observe somebody else on their path and say I don't understand your path but I don't have to. It's not my path. I don't have to judge it. I don't have to explain it. I don't have to rationalize it. All I have to do is honor it. It's your path." 37:59 - "Teach people the truth in such a way as to enable them to realize they've always known it." 39:30 - "We forget that the expressed purpose of being on Earth is to be mortal and it's to make mistakes. If you weren't going to make mistakes, you wouldn't be here. There'd be no purpose in it. If you're not going to be mortal, there's no purpose in being immortality. People think that being mortal somehow makes them bad but it doesn't. Being mortal does not make you less divine." 46:26 - Message for audience: "Tell them they're enough. Tell them they're divine. Tell them they're loved."

Oh thank you! I have been dreading the life review that will come sometime. I dread it for the sheer crassness of my conduct, not once but many times. Through Divine Consciousness I have probably given light to the earth out of all proportion to the other stuff, and I knew that my dread was a mistake, but there it was. And your balm, that there is nothing amiss, cured it, with standing tears. And do you know, I knew it all along.

This man has kindness in his eyes. The eyes are the window to a persons soul. What about the person that is being pressured to change? I will give you can example: I don't like hunting and my ex did. I think we should not have married - he thought I should change, and his pressure broke my spirit and I felt like nothing was left of me. He did leave for someone else - which I learned the person who leaves is the person who sinned. It took me years to realize my ex- tricked me into believing everything was my fault.

I'm begining to give up the thought that we stear our ship, and am working to accept what comes to me like Jeff says. This doesn't mean I don't try, but it does mean I accept what comes my way, like not getting the job I wanted and instead being in a job that is less appealing to me.

You can discuss the M theory or String theory all day but Consciousness is primary and thats a Fact. I've watched a few videos about NDE explaining that we have a mission or reason for our specific existence, right here and right now. Is there a way to know if you are on the right path or if you've diverted from that path? Can you ever get back on that path if you went astray? I feel like it's impossible if you are like me and don't really know who exactly you are anymore (due to cultural norms/society + years of putting on an act, if you would). If we fail our mission, do we just come back and relive everything to try and get it right? How do you know that you'll succeed a second, third, or fourth time? Does your mom or dad, family/siblings need to consent to come back in this time period and relive as my family members or friends?

I've not had an NDE. However, I've read and watched (videos) hundreds and hundreds of accounts and have read numerous books. Most folks who have had the experience will say that time as we know it here in this realm, is linear. Yet time in the other realm(s) does not exist -- that everything is happening simultaneously -- all past, present future -- all at the same time. Thus, we are not reincarnated, but have many incarnations occurring all at the same time. Again, I have not experienced an NDE (although I have been close to death several times, due to critical illness), but it's very common for the NDE experiencer to describe what I have mentioned.

@@Ms7of8 Interesting.... So does it not matter theoretically what we do in this life in terms our "purpose," as we will experience all paths we've took upon our death and go back to wherever we come from? Or is it a different spirit experiencing our different paths? It's so confusing hahaha. (Obviously I guess it does matter what path we walk, IF we experience all outcomes after death immediately upon going back to wherever we've come from)
