You're listening to the official audio for Dr. John - "Right Place Wrong Time" from the album 'In The Right Place'. Just as Friday had begun to appear on the horizon, we here at Rhino HQ received word of the death of a man whose music served as the soundtrack to many a weekend - not to mention a whole lot of Fat Tuesdays - over the course of the 60+ years of his career: his name was Malcolm John Rebennack Jr., but to his fans, he was known simply as… Dr. John. "Marijuana joint Never quite heard anybody put it that way. I was born in Brooklyn New York 1961. As soon as I had a few dollars my friends and I were ALL smoking weed like crazy mad. I enjoyed it then because it relaxed me. Today when I try it makes me Paranoid. Doesn't matter if I smoke a little or a lot. I stay far away from it. I find it strange when I see adults smoking. I don't know how they can be high and take care of all the responsibilities that an adult needs to do. My 2 cents.

@@Mr.Robert1 Some people focus better on their responsibilities, if they have a mellow buzz. It's the alcohol, pills, heroin, cocaine, and other stuff that drives you mad ? Lots of artist, and musicians say weed makes them more creative with their senses heightened. But at the end of a long day like a martini, I can see where weed would make you lazy or very relaxed.🗣️💨

@@charlesroberts3650 Not my words. God's Holy word. If you don't like how his word makes you feel, then shake your fist at God and tell him you don't appreciate it. 2 Timothy 3:12-13 New Living Translation 12 Yes, and everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. 13 But evil people and impostors will flourish. They will deceive others and will themselves be deceived. 1 Peter 4:15-18 New Living Translation 15 If you suffer, however, it must not be for murder, stealing, making trouble, or prying into other people’s affairs. 16 But it is no shame to suffer for being a Christian. Praise God for the privilege of being called by his name! 17 For the time has come for judgment, and it must begin with God’s household. And if judgment begins with us, what terrible fate awaits those who have never obeyed God’s Good News? 18 And also,“If the righteous are barely saved, what will happen to godless sinners?” 2 Timothy 4:5 New Living Translation 5 But you should keep a clear mind in every situation. Don’t be afraid of suffering for the Lord. Work at telling others the Good News, and fully carry out the ministry God has given you. James 4:4 New Living Translation 4 You adulterers! Don’t you realize that friendship with the world makes you an enemy of God? I say it again: If you want to be a friend of the world, you make yourself an enemy of God." Romans 6:23 New Living Translation 23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord." We all die, therefore we are all sinners and deserving of hell. Philippians 3:8-9 New Living Translation 8 Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ 9 and become one with him. I no longer count on my own righteousness through obeying the law; rather, I become righteous through faith in Christ. For God’s way of making us right with himself depends on faith.

@@JohnSmith-uy7sv You're STILL trying to beat people over the head with our Lord and Saviour I see, you're saying that YOUR interpretation of the Gospel is the true one, you're trying to make people say "uncle", well, good luck with that. Matthew 11:18: “He that hath ears to hear, let him hear. But whereunto shall I liken this generation? It is like unto children sitting in the markets, and calling unto their fellows, And saying, We have piped unto you, and ye have not danced; we have mourned unto you, and ye have not lamented. For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He hath a devil. The Son of man came eating and DRINKING, and they say, Behold a man gluttonous, and a WINEBIBBER, a friend of publicans and SINNERS". But wisdom is justified of her children". And this He said about "Holier than thou" cities and individuals that Judge others, like homosexuals, for example: "And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted unto heaven (Holier than thou), shalt be brought down to Hell: for if the mighty works, which have been done in thee, had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day. But I say unto you, That it shall be MORE TOLERABLE for the land of SODOM in the day of judgment, than for thee!”

I been in the right place But it must have been the wrong time I'd have said the right thing But must have used the wrong line I been on the right trip But I must have used the wrong car Head is in a bad place and I wonder what it's good for I been in the right place But it must have been the wrong time My head is in a bad place But I'm having such a good time I've been running trying to get hung up in my mind Really got to give myself a good talking to this time Just need a little brain salad surgery I got to que my insecurity But I've been in the wrong place But it must have been the right time I been in the right place But it must have been the wrong song I been in the right vein But it seems like a wrong arm I been in the right world But it seems like wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong Slipping, dodging, sneaking, creeping, hiding out down the street See my life shaking with every who I meet Refried confusion is making itself clear Wonder which way do I go to get on out of here But I been in the right place But it must have been the wrong time I'd have said the right thing But I must have used the wrong line I took the right road But I must have took a wrong turn I took a right move But I made it at the wrong time I was in the right trip But I made it in the wrong car Head is in a good place, and I wonder what it's bad for

Mac, you were an amazing pianist - such grooves that epitomised every decade - but this track, lyrically, speaks volumes - you think you know where you’re going in life, then !!! bam. Love & admiration for your work & incredible personality. JaneR

My absolute favorite part of this song is how the drummer replaces the snare with that hi-hat pattern every 8 beats.

So this Jizzie just pops into my head and immediately I'm ushered back to the early 70s where myself, Yvette Wright Gauff , Tshlene Henreid , Carole Burgess and many more girls in Sheila Sweet's Dance Troupe would practice to master all our routines- and We Did, then we took it across the city, even to Shelton & McNeil Island: and that's all omma say about that part‼️ We were good. Each of us had our own unique & special thing and as a group- Hey BaeBae💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾‼️ Thanks for pouring into us, Sheila👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🤗
