An intellectual , with a nice smile. Love him. Looking forward to hearing more real talk. Ps. I don’t judge people by the colour of their skin, I judge them by the colour of their teeth. Realistic talking. Hero and cowards everywhere. Out of fear comes bravery

Interesting how the countries he mentioned having revolutionaries don't seem to be quite accepted OR don't quite fit in the Caribbean and South America. Wonder if there's a connection.

#GoGettersNetwork This is a fact l! What we must understand is that no matter how much we study African History it's never the entire puzzle it's bits & pieces the Conilizers did a great job at distorting the Truth! Caribbean people are extremely Patriotic so it's hard to connect the dots frm Island to island concerning the slave trade! For instance many slaves frm St.lucia went back to Africa 🌍 during the trade.. Many of the slaves where seamen that understood Navigation!.Also.the Caribbean is much closer to Africa then they want use to know.. Europeans designed the Maps.. The Caribbean Flags.. & the Name of the Islands many of use have to digest that being Patriotic is part of the brainwashing so.we don't see.each other as the same.. In every Marcus Garvey Speexch he always used the term West-Indian b/c it unified all islands..

So explain to me the logic of a bad slave because it seems to me black people see the world through eurocentric eyes. How could you be a bad slave if being held captive anything you do in liberation should be commended . How can any so called slave be worse than the people who enslaved them ? Is it good in eyes of a european to be well behaved slave or rebelious one whos persepective are we seeing the world from ours who fight for freedom or the other people who benefited from our enslavement ?

You answered your own question in the first statement you made. Eurocentric mindset is behind it all.

That's how South America has colorism way worse and doesn't even want to consider themselves African or mixed with African They wanna be closest to whyte than anything Smh Cause they were the Docile more "well behaved" slaves Meaning they went along with the bs or didn't put up much of a fight or they gave up easily 🤷‍♀️ And he's sounding like he's praising them and favoring them Smh I Didn't like how he talk there At All

#GoGettersNetwork I respectfully disagree with the professor.. I agree its not just Jamaica but the entire Caribbean has unruly tribes which link back to West Africa.. The Slave Traders sent the Unruly slaves to the Caribbean b/c they didnt want them in the Americas.. This is why they put them on an Island... Itook a course in Binghamton University & stay after class to discuss the caribbean slave trade... The proofessor told me he didnt want to say it plain in the class but YES the Caribbean Slaves where sent to the islands by desigsn.. For instancre the eastern caribbean islands like St, Lucia & St. Vinent.. Many slaves over took ships & go ship wrecked in the eastern caribbean... Also Bookman the Jamaican that went to haiti to asist with the Revolution.. Many other islands had rebels & aisited too.. But the Narrattive in which we study African & Caribbean roots is still through a european lens... They are still stiring the Narrative.. I Love this channel keep up the good work

Correction Bookman was Senegambian, he was sold off in Jamaica first before before heading to Haiti. He definitely was not creolised farmed

@@bartjames8004While this is true, respectfully, boukman left senegambia ( today Senegal and Gambia) very young and grew up mostly in Jamaica, adapting to the culture and mindset. Boukman may have witness and spoke to many revolutionaries during is time on the island. He learnt a lot about revolution/revolts and brought it to Haiti and applied his teaching there. Again, respectfully, Boukman was an African-born with an instilled Jamaican culture. Thank you

It’s not “completely” false. Slave traders did move slaves around based on certain attributes (physical and temperament) like livestock. That’s why it was called chattel slavery.

I will have to disagree with his statements. The island of Jamaica ( and others) were used a prison island for Africans who rebelled against the tyranny of colonialism. The British imperials specifically concentrated rebel slaves from different British colonies on the island of Jamaica as a form of punishment. One form of punishment is ‘Buck breaking’ , a form of homosexual act to emasculate the male leaders to instill fear and obedience. To this day Jamaicans are still against homosexuality for that very same reason. The people on the island are still temperamental, hot-headed and display leadership qualities. This is due to the fighting slaves brought there intentionally by the British. These slaves came from the Akan tribes and the Ashanti. Both tribes are eminent for there militancy and warfare tactics. It’s no coincidence that Jamaican as one the most influential human beings on the planet with a war-like attitude
