In my opinion long john silver possesses a much more potent power not in battle but the way he emanates a vibe that can make everyone in a room go silent. his words are cold, collected and powerful. if he wasnt an amputee, maybe hed win against livesey but he is smarter than to attack while missing a leg against a magistrate and a doctor above all, who knows apparent weak points to his balance if he so chose to fight him

During the film, there was only one instance where John Silver had one up on our heroes but he was outperformed in every other scenes. Dr. Livesey, defeated John Silver in a battle of wits even tho I'm sure Dr. Livesey is physically and martially superior. His scheme was blown wide open by Jim Hawkins and at no point did he gain the upper hand on them again moving forward. His pirates were deftly defeated during the battle on treasure island. He was fooled by Dr. Livesey with the treasure map. Also John Silver vs Dr. Livesey with experience as a pirate is basically just giving a free point to John Silver because Dr. Livesey is NOT a PIRATE. Dr. Livesey is an army veteran turned doctor.

The only reason John ever lost was because of dr.livesey and his dumbass crew, he was smart enough to set an attack with every other comrades who comes on the boat, but they still manage to lose. And even that in the end he was still the only one antagonist who remains alive.
