Mangalampalli balamuralikrishna was born in 6 July 1930 at Sankaraguptam, East Godavari District. mangalampalli balamuralikrishna is very very Famous for Indian Carnatic vocalist, musician, multi-instrumentalist, playback singer, composer, and character actor. balamuralikrishna father was a well known musician and his mother was a veena player. his father Observing his interest in music, and put him under the tutelage of Parupalli Ramakrishnayya Pantulu. Under his guidance, the young Balamuralikrishna learned Carnatic music. At the age of eight, he gave his first full-fledged concert at a Thyagaraja Aradhana in Vijayawada. Mangalampalli balamuralikrishna was a famous for annamayya ramadasu keerthanalu songs. Mangalampalli balamuralikrishna has garnered two National Film Awards (1976, 1987), the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 1975, the Padma Vibhushan, India's second-highest civilian honor in 1991. The Mahatma Gandhi Silver Medal from UNESCO in 1995, the Chevalier of the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French Government in 2005, the Sangeetha Kalanidhi by Madras Music Academy in 1978, and the Sangeetha Kalasikhamani in 1991, by the Fine Arts Society.
Balamuralikrishna started his career at the age of six. he has given over 25,000 concerts worldwide. He accompanied Pandit Bhimsen Joshi, and gave jugalbandi concerts with Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia and Kishori Amonkar, among others. He also Played Multi instruments like mridangam, voilin, flute, veena and kanjira. Mangalampalli balamuralikrishna was composed so many devotional annamayya ramadasu keerthanalu, shiva songs. and thillana tatvalu, thillana kalyani, pancharatna kritis bhairavi .... Balamuralikrishna has sung in several films in Telugu, Sanskrit, Kannada and Tamil. He made his acting debut with the Telugu film Bhakta Prahlada (1967) as Narada, and has acted in few films in Telugu and Tamil.

I have listened to several interviews of BMK and I always felt that the anchors in those interviews did not ask all the right questions to extract the right and full information about music and the artist. I love this anchor for asking all the right questions. Madam, you have done an excellent job and produced priceless information from the Master that will be part of Indian musical history. Your questions really bring out the mind of the genius which is not easy to understand. Thank you.

If we go to Hotel and ask for Meals, if hotel has varieties of meals they ask you. Do you want 1. South Indian Meals 2. North Indian Meals Even we get Andra Style Meals, Tamilnadu Meals, Bengali Meals. If you say, we can't differentiate meals. All are Indian meals. Then which meal he should give you sir. That is not called as differentiation, that is called naming to identify. So Karnatic Music is also a naming for particular pattern of music Sir. You are such a big, famous, respected personality. You are one of Gems 💎 of India.

Sadly he is less appreciated and admired in Telugu speaking states but more in Tamilnadu Karnataka and Kerala. He was patronised more non Telugu movies makers and music directors. He sang all songs of Kannada films like Bhakta Purandaradasa and Hamsageethe. And later in Ruthugana

Could someone please add English subtitles to the clip for the benefit of likes of me who can't understand a word of the rare interview with arguably the musicologist of our times? How does one define his genre of music - Carnatic, Hindustani or Rabindra Sangeet? As a musician how does one classify him - Vocalist, Viola player or Violinist, musician extraordinaire in whichever role he assumed in a performance, embodiment of versatility personified. Shame that I have to miss out on the thoughts of the Maestro
