To me, Doc's are never 'trendy', or even if they are considered 'trendy' one moment and then miss out on being in the trend cycle the next, they are ALWAYS timeless. I don't think Doc's will ever have a time where they are considered uncool or tacky or out of style. They are just very adaptable shoes, and no wonder they have such a chokehold on fashion and pop culture in general, cause they work with anything, depending on style, to be preppy, edgy, or just a bit quirky. The brand has managed very well to keep up with current silhouettes while also keeping the original 'soul' of their look intact. So they're kind of vintage or 'retro' even if they were bought brand new.

Great video, I just bought a pair of Mary Janes for my teaching placement next semester - I love how they’re in between sandals, boots and flats! Most schools don’t let you wear sneakers and I think traditional flats and sandals are quite uncomfortable, so I’m hoping they’ll be a happy medium. So far they’ve been super comfortable even while breaking them in!

On the subject of zippers on Docs, I didn’t realize how spoiled I was until I got a pair of Leonas (and then Moon Blue 1461s, and the Floral Mashup Sinclairs….oops) recently and had to deal with the lacing (especially on stiff new leather!). My dad bought me my first pair of Docs in 2009/2010, and they were the 9733W which have two zippers on each boot! I still wear them and they’re fantastic.

You know what is also crazy, at least for the US website, Dr. Martens have been restocking platforms. I think a few weeks/months back they restocked the Bethans and right now, the Church Quads! The prices aren't inflated like the resellers and I also saw Poser Hollywood/DM restocked the 8035 Quads!

Bought my first pair at the thrift yesterday. A 1460 Pascal for only $6. It was just a bit dusty, but overall still in really good condition. 😊

I got a pair of the platform 1461’s the other day for $63 usd. And I think they’re more comfortable than my platform Chelsea boots. Like I think they feel lighter since they’re more secured to my foot. Idk if that makes sense but anyway they’re super comfy and don’t feel heavy.

Do you have a video including specifically how to style the white platform jadens? I have those exact ones but I have a hard time figuring out what to wear with them!

I prefer platforms than heels. My favorite is the Marc Jacobs Heaven 1461 Audrick in red plaid. It’s very light weight. I might get the boots version. Hehehe

My favorite platform docs are the sinclair, but my first choice are the polley 🤩 I’ve got them in black and in red, so cool😁 do you find any difference between the polley docs and the mary jane? Cause I like those too, but I think they are quite similar 😁

I have seen a trend over the last years. Many girls do get more muscular legs. I think its the weight of the Jadons which make their muscles grow. Its a workout wearing them. 😄I don't know, as a man i'd wish there will be a 10 hole Martens trend, like in the nineties. Like a 10 hole Bex variant. I find these girls to be cute. But i don't think it will become trend.

Are DM's becoming more and more of woman's shoe? There are no KZfaq videos of men styling them. The only KZfaq videos of DM's presented by men are those who rate the leather and the construction (Goodyear Welt etc). I have six pairs of Doc Martens and I choose the shoes and boots that look a lot less like DM's. When the girls / young women style their DM's on KZfaq the shoes always look good, but has anyone noticed that on the actual DM website the pictures of the public who have purchased DM's often look terrible and that is a real shame because if the shoes are not modelled well (or they are worn with horrible clothes), the product becomes unattractive and un-enticing; a poor styling detracts and distracts. If I was to go with the dress sense of the men / male models on the DM website I would virtually avoid buying any DM shoes altogether, and would have; its only when I have seen the shoes in person, in real life that I have took the next step to buy. The girls have good dress sense but the guys are completely hopeless at putting together an outfit that works with the boots and shoes.
