I ignore the supernatural. Listening to Mike has slowly shifted my view and he is starting to give me the perspective I have been lacking with so many things within my walk with Christ. I been taught alot of nonsense and have turned away from anything outside my safe zone. He has answered a lot of subconscious questions and for some reason I am feeling more free and I am seeing the much bigger picture. I only heard of Mike after he left so I am grateful for his work... 🤗

More and more, I realize that Michael Heiser knows exactly who his 'target audience' is. Me. 😂 Been watching a LOT of theological material...and realizing that I've been drawn to the 'occult' and the fringe my entire life because I KNOW it's REAL, and can't tolerate a world where it isn't taken seriously. That's where he nails it: Christianity (as represented by the church in general) has downplayed and ignored the REALITY of the supernatural in an attempt to attract/retain the blessing of the Darwinian Sciencey NPCs, and has therefore lost credibility with folks like ME. The Adversary understands this all too well, and has cornered the market on all the Stranger Things in an extremely successful attempt to lure people AWAY from Jesus and the Gospel. The New Age (The Mystery Schools, Blavatsky, et al) seduce people like me precisely because we are starving for intelligent conversation regarding the inexplicable. If the Church won't provide it, then we go where the convo is happening. Not saying it's correct, or that it's an excuse for my own failings (being far too preoccupied with all things non-human, for example) - but I AM saying that a theology that expects to be taken seriously MUST account for anomalous phenomenon, and do so convincingly. Thoughts on this interview: Intelligent evil is not omniscient. It has perfect communication within its own hive mind, but cannot necessarily anticipate what is being created by the force that opposes it. It is reactive, rather than prescient. Clever, rather than wise. Our predicament is fundamentally supernatural. Only supernatural forces can resolve it. This is what Spiritual Warfare means - humans play roles in the conflict, but the real action takes place in the otherwhere. The supernatural forces take shape in human affairs, but human affairs do not direct them - it's the other way round. My right relationship in this war is to appeal for guidance from Him. There is NO WAY that I can 'understand' the battlefield - it doesn't even map properly to my dimension. 😅 I am given a worm's eye view of a galactic struggle, and am in no position to determine strategy or even which weapon to select. Only God knows. I'd like to, but that's not an option. So, my best play is to ASK what to do, then execute that to the best of my ability. My best play is to TRUST the Commander in Chief. Like a SOLDIER. A grunt - not some Special Forces superstar. 😂

The main point being is The Love that Eleven has for her friends is parallel to Christ's love for us (I'm not saying SHE IS DIVINE, BUT, she has the divine in her)---- she is willing to die to save her friends. There is no greater love. P.s. I graduated in '81 as well and grew up in that town, with those people. I was one of those people.❤️

I think you're reaching on this one. If the references are not intentional, and so veiled that only a Believer would spot them, what's the point?

So how does one determine if a show or movie is gnostic or a representation of God & Christ's salvation? Examplr would be the Matrix series. I firmly believe it is very gnostic and promoting the view that Adam & Eve should eat of the Tree of Knowledge, that God has hidden knowledge from mankind but others could see the gospel being represented. The Trabsformer series comes to mind also with the parallels to the watchers to the point the robots come from the galaxy "Azazel".
@deirdremorris9234
@deirdremorris9234 2 жыл бұрын
Can it be both? Christ aims to save, whether Gnostic or traditional Christianity, Christ saves. I think its good to explore these points.

The truth is no one who has the spirit of God would watch anything like this, This show has a multiple times pointed to the occult, even to the ouija board, which they even marketed and sold to children for a while I used to watch this show when I was in my sin, and I am saddened this is comming from hieser,

This is really sad,. I used to watch the show when I was in sin, its not a Christian show its not anything anyone who has the spirit of god would watch, Furthermore there is a direct ref to ouija board in the first season even they made and marketed a ouija board out of it, and moreover they have ref to possession and other occult themes

Dr. Heiser wrote a book called, "The World Turned Upside Down: Finding the Gospel in Stranger Things" www.amazon.com/World-Turned-Upside-Down-Stranger-ebook/dp/B081728593/ While the title of this video is a bit misleading, if you watch it, you'll see that they're discussing both the television series _and_ his book.
