You know, I watched an episode of Dr. Phil maybe two decades ago. Robin McGraw said "I believe sugar is a poison," and I thought, "nonsense"! Two decades and over a hundred pounds later, I realized she was absolutely right. I stopped eating sugar and drastically reduced carbs several months ago, and now... I have lost 25lbs and I can sleep again. My psoriasis is in remission. It will be a slow road to full health, but I am committed to it. I should have listened to Robin years ago! The arrogance of youth! (I am in my 50s now. Prior to giving up sugar and reducing carbs, I felt I had no future.)

After you've eaten healthy food (basic foods like vegetables, fruits, complex starches like rice/potatoes, non-processed meats and fish, whole grain/seeded breads, dairy products with no additives) your taste changes. If you try eating fast food after your tastes shifts, you will be disgusted at how it tastes and it may make you sick. Retrain your tastes to like fresh foods. It doesn't take that long, just a few weeks, and you will find cravings dropping away.

Start by removing all seed oils. Know that whenever you go out to eat everything is made with seed oils. From that I removed soda and than processed foods. After that I removed refined sugar. It is so addictive, I was shocked at how difficult it was to remove all sugar from my diet. You can replace sugar with a little stevia or xylitol or allulose because it does not effect blood sugar levels but beware that it can trigger sugar cravings for some.

It's disgusting what they have done to our food. There use to be laws against this. For example; try to find a salad dressing without seed oils. There was one labeled made with olive oil. I turned it around to read the ingredients and all seed oils until the last few ingredients when you saw olive oil. The average person would think that it was made only with olive oil and no seed oils when in fact there were a few drops of olive oil added so the could lie to you.

This was me 10 years ago. It took me literally hitting my rock bottom, obesity sick, health issues, to make a solid change. It's a daily battle, will be the rest of my life. I went clean eating, no fancy diets etc. It absolutely was ROUGH for the first 2-3 weeks, then I started feeling incredible. I lost over 100 pounds in a year. Today, I have gained back about 40 pounds, but I'm now in Peri menopause and I have now a autoimmune disease... But I'm still clean eating. I also became REALLY good at long distance running, fell in love with the sport. Trained officiantly to doing several half marathons (13.1 miles). However, then fell out with an autoimmune disease from covid, having it once July of 2020. (Not jabbed BTW). Anyway, my dietary needs are even MORE strict but refuse to become re- addicted because I can no longer long distance run. Now I power walk instead! I can still do a decent 5k run on good days when I'm not adrenal exhausted. I also took up swimming! My lab work, autoimmune aside, is STILL textbook perfect from 10 years ago when it was awful. Processed junk food is pure poison! NEVER again

However the FDA is part of the government machine that bows to the big manufactors who produce the altered foods that are engineered to be more addictive. We the voters and taxpayers have very little influence or control over the laws that govern the FDA. Big pharm loves that obesity is the number one disease in children and adults. More profit for them as demonstrated by the shortage of the semiglutides that are being prescribed for weight loss rather than for treatment of DM type 2. We cannot trust the FDA to provide safe foods. We as consumers must make the choice not to eat or drink the altered foods that support the addiction.

You probably wouldn't be able to eat much with eliminating all these ingredients(sugar names). It's scary. Also hard to afford all just good things.

No it’s not - if you eat meat eggs and some dairy, you literally are NOT HUNGRY for hours and hours, so you eat way less, but nutrient dense, filling food. You need to try carnivore.

I gave up processed foods, salt and all forms of sugar 7 years ago and I feel amazing. I lift weights and exercise 5 days a week even though I'm in my 50's I feel like I'm in my 20's as I live a plant-based lifestyle. If you don't take care of your body you'll be addicted to pills to keep you alive just like the rest of the world.

When you say all forms of sugar you mean fruits and wheats (like wholegrain bread, pasta…) too? I gave up processed sugar but not stated above or honey and i am not completely sure if i should.

Eat Fatty cuts of Meat, like a Ribeye or go for more Fattier Ground Meat like 80/20 or 75/25. Eating Pasture Raised Red Meat, Eggs, Raw Dairy, Organic Fruits & Garden Fresh Vegetables, that’s the Key. Source out your Food from Local Farmers & Ranchers!

It’s not bad to have a donut here and there, especially if it fits in your eating window or fits into your Lifestyle. Still, people should be prioritizing more Whole Foods, especially Meat, Eggs, Raw Dairy (if you can tolerate it) Some Organic Fruits & Vegetables, minimal to no Grains, if you want Bread, seek out Sourdough with minimal ingredients or make your own. Cook with Animal Fats only, no Seed Oils. It really is simple. Calories don’t really matter when you give your Body Good Fuel. 👍🏻

Of course sugar and garbage food is highly addictive. The only way to eliminate the cravings in one fell swoop is by just going Carnivore. I am Carnivore and only eat Fatty beef, fatty lamb , pasture eggs and sockeye salmon. And drink only water. 68 years old, 6 foot@ 160 pounds. Carnivore is the way.

Sure, people should take responsibility for what they eat. But with that said, there is so much conflicting and misinformation out there, and when the 'experts' are saying these foods are healthy, it does become challenging. Another problem is how much we consume as well. I look at the way our ancestors, and the foods that were available at that time, today's tribes that are still in existence can give us an idea. The animal kingdom as well.

Very good video and excellent information. One thing though, think about the starches that your body recognizes as sugar once you eat them. All that fast food is served on a bun made from white flour. Don't be deceived by products that try to make you think that they're healthy because they say "whole grain." You crave carbs because you eat carbs. This video is a great beginning.
