"When A Child Is Born" is not a Christmas song per se, but a beautiful tune with a hopeful message for the world.
The original English version was first released in 1974. It has been sung by many artists, most successfully by Johnny Mathis in 1976. Dr. Ring Ding was especially fond of Bing Crosby's version (from 1976), and it shows.
This rendition is a real labour of love - recorded with members of the Doctor's own band and a few friends like Arne Wiegand (Santiano) who arranged and played the orchestra, and Germany's N°1 vocal arranger and performer Billy King (Roland Kaiser, Helene Fischer).
A fine mixture of rootsy "lovers rock" Reggae and orchestral ballad style, with Dr. Ring Ding showing off his crooning abilities.
