Great interview with Dr. R. Glover. I've gotten some good incite from this show & others. These are things we need to pass around & share with people everywhere. What most people, particularly women (feminists), may fail to understand or choose ignore is that the world's social & cultural make up, and human history right up until now today is inexorably linked to our human physiology and biology. The so-called "social construct" of gender roles, matriarchy, and patriarchy were built around our natural born human physiology ever since people had come into existence on this earth. This did not and could not take place in reverse through socially constructed rules set up by some evil dominant male patriarchy dictating how human beings were supposed to be formed. The dogma of feminist theory eludes to this impossible and ludicrous conclusion? Our development of modern technology is the only reason why we (often unwisely) have the opportunity to change the balance this dynamic in our gender, gender roles, culture, and human biology. The bottom line is that men are dominant in society throughout history mostly because it was natural and necessary for our species survival in all parts of the world, across all races and cultures. Men, in most cases, were by far above all else were & still are the protectors and providers of their families, villages, communities, and society! Well, you can Thank Us Now for our part and, Stop sh*tting on us?! Yes of course, "men" (if politically correct to say?) And "women" have at times been some pretty horrible human beings through all of history.

@raularmas317
@raularmas317 2 жыл бұрын
@@JeffCaplan313 I don't think it's about choking anyone. I think to stand up to a woman simply refers to not "taking the bait of a specious/made up argument and becoming emotionally reactive or simply telling your partner in a calm, rational voice "I'll come back in a while when you've had a chance to really hear the Bs you are trying to project at me while you literally walk away. When you can stay rational/reasonable and can walk away from an unnecessary verbal argument then she gains the confidence and trust to know you can do whatever you need to do to protect both you and her should the need arise. Because all humans are fragile beings and subject to untimely exits and whether she cares to admit it or not she needs you to discpline and lead your family. Because if you can fight the mental battle within to curb your own worst impulses and fight with a "together" or with the "sane" head between your shoulders, and not be emotionally triggered from the other (smaller) head btwn your legs you stand a much better chance of walking away from even the gravest or most real threats in life, nes pas?

I respectfully disagree with you. Dr. Glover may have helped by offering a different perspective. But when you give serious consideration to how someone else's ideas can improve your life you help change your own life by taking in the good, applicable truths and you change your own life because you humbled yourself long enough to realize you don't know everything-- no one does. That's why I'm still looking for my own answers at 63 years of age. God bless and keep learning, commiting, and doing.

Long interview and yet so worth the time! My husband was born in 1969 to traditional parents. I grew up in a single-family home where mom wore the pants and laid down the law. Dr. Glover’s comment regarding his second wife not being able to trust him to eventually protect her in the face of evil was really what made a difference in my relationship. Ultimately, my husband showed me that I could rely on him no matter what. He has my back. ❤️

Exactly. It's really appalling as a man tp act this way yet we are taught to as kids. I remember being reinforce with being nice and everyone love me for it. When I went to college, I was taken advantage of by teachers, women, and friends. No one cared and I was struggling to understand what I did wrong. Then I realized I did nothing wrong. I'm just ironically too nice and the game changed once I hit 18. So now I feel great being nice but not being a doormat and question why I thought the only way was better

Tell your thoughts and feeling to your friends that will develop bonds. 8. -Ignoring yourself- They don't prioritise themselves. They give away their time to other people. Your need should be your first priority. 9. -Rapid burnout- they take all the load of relationship to themselves. 10.- Fear of saying no

I believe there’s a difference from being nice guy and being a positive minded enthusiastic human being. It’s almost like most women want a man that has many flaws to where they can try to change them over a course of time. Women want to be the male and the female in the relationship. @@brittanyhernandez4778 thank you love! Yes I try not to put the blame on woman either I think sometime as humans we tend to look for the wrong spouse and we try to settle for less than what we really deserve. I know for me specifically I have went through foster care at the age of five and I didn’t get that proper nourishment growing up from my mother. So sometimes when a good lady does come along and she is very loving it is such a foreign feeling and hard to appreciate how she treats me. So that is just an area that I am trying to grow in as well! For women I think they just have dads that may be too busy with work and no so mushy or loving so when good guys come along that are super attentive it pushes them away.

I really liked the relationship statement that they are created to meet old needs and dysfunctions by both parties. I've been in lots of therapy and not one has said that. It rings true to me.

Recently I just realized and acknowledged that I was exhibiting the Mr Nice Guy syndrome and it really hits me. I’m starting to figure out why all the women I courted before flipped me because of it. Never been true to myself and became a people pleaser. I’m in the process of getting rid of these negative traits. Thanks guys for this podcast.

The line "their mom's surrogate husbands" reminded me of the term "covert incest" my therapist told me when I was like 22 living at home with my mom after college (look it up, so common and creepy). I was out of that house 6 months later.

Great conversation here guys. This one I think was all encompassing, describing the history and the current state of being a man today. I want to get Robert’s book now and I think this discussion everyone should be having. Men should have it with other men, women should have it with other women, and men and women should have it with each other.
