Tharoorji has a unique style of speaking -his very own-which is simply awesome. The interviewer’s diction in English is also very good but Tharoorji is Tharoorji. I think it is rare to find a person of Sashi Tharoor's standing in India for his knowledge on world history and international politics besides his command on language. His sensibilities and values are enviable. He should have been in helm of affairs in India. You cannot get him wrong on any aspects, however one tries to LBW as our interviewer did, he cleverly answers. Dr Tharoor, If the people really thing that the country’s approval has gone up while the country is doing bad. That’s certainly because the opposition has failed to show where the government is lacking using data and when compared to what UPA has done before 2014. Some report by Sweden cannot tell if India’s democracy is doing well. We have seen happiness indices where Ukraine is happier than Indians. The truth is that the Congress party itself is not in capable of being a good opposition. Rahul Gandhi may not be the leader of the congress party, by he certainly acts like that. Please lead the congress party. Because, if congress needs a chance to run against BJP, they need a leader like you who can present the leaders logical thoughts with clarity. If congress wins, India will be in a much worse situation as congress needs several alliances with no unifying ideology. I appreciate your honesty about the changing neighbourhood and how India may not be totally responsible for everything.

Dr Tharoor - ever so articulate and so clearly biased against BJP’s foreign policy of the last 10 years. India is a rising power in every dimension. It is asserting itself with a confidence not see by its own citizens and the world. - why should India accept a world order that divides the globe between China and USA? - what is wrong with it offering its own model of governance? - what is wrong with India ruthlessly pursuing its own interests in a cut throat world? China would like India to accept a secondary role. USA would like it to be its own camp. That way China and US can dictate what they want. India’s foreign policies are increasingly aligned with its domestic policies. This does not suit Dr Tharror’s Congress and many other regional parties. The focus of these parties is the Muslim vote primarily. Why is Congress and its spokesperson so uncomfortable? - one law for all citizens - one citizenship law - one time for all elections - diluting census data collection based on caste - using digitization to bring transparency in financial transactions on a scale not seen. This reduces the circulation of black money - removal of article 370 that encouraged sedition, corruption and discrimination (against non Muslims) - creating a domestic defense industry - calling out the discriminatory nature of Islamic philosophy and practices that constantly seek “special” protection - standing up to China, Pakistan and both of them together - creating a national narrative of pride that is rooted in its own culture rather than always highlighting Abrahamic philosophies that seek to convert, invade and dominate None of the above suits that one community. It is the largest vote bank of the Congress. Dr Tharoor and the host are prejudiced. They can neither digest nor support an India that stands on its own. The Bhartiya Sanskriti is anathema to them. They hate their own roots!

What a delight to watch the superlatively articulate and learned Dr. Shashi Tharoor! A man and politician of his breadth of perspective and vision fully deserves to be the Prime Minister of India. The Gandhi family needs to remove itself from Dr. Taroor's path and support his becoming the true leader of the Congress party. Rahul even if he became the PM lacks the vision and smarts to be a true leader. Sonia Gandhi needs to do a repeat performance of what she did when she supported Dr. Manmohan Singh to become the PM.
