I replicated Senku's generator close to the way his was built (but smaller) to see if it worked.
Only a proof of concept to see if it would generate any power.
Made possible with the guidance of ‪@MisterTalkingMachine‬ explaining the setup, history, how to test it, and answering ten billion questions.

You only need about 1.23V to conduct electrolysis of water, to create hydrogen, and Senku's generator was much larger and (assumedly) had a much stronger magnet.
@kaikart123
@kaikart123 2 жыл бұрын
There is no stronger permanent magnet than neodymium. The generator's bearings has much larger frictions than modern ball bearings. So the efficiency would be totally shit just like we've seen from the video where he used 18v nominal electricity to generate around 7v and this is with modern bearings and neodymium magnets, but it gets the job done.
@MediumPointBallPoint
@MediumPointBallPoint 2 жыл бұрын
I'm gonna throw this out. At the larger scale, the wheel diameter makes the speed of the circumference of the wheel much larger as Pi*Raduis*RPM. Since the voltage is actually dependent on the speed of the disk under the magnet, could not a larger wheel with slower RPM generate the same (or higher) voltage?
@savagefoxdesigns6692
@savagefoxdesigns6692 2 жыл бұрын
@@kaikart123 Actually there is competition with Neodymium in the form of Iron Nitride & Samarium Cobalt. There are more recent research papers that suggests these materials are both more available & create magnets with higher energy density than Neodymium. Samarium Cobalt even has a much higher temperature range of usability. Also this isn't the best generator design and you will always get out less energy than you put in given the law of entropy.

i wonder what the numbers using magnetite or just some kind of ceramic iron magnet or something would've been? using neodymium isn't exactly fair, but, it did make for some pretty cool numbers.

he had a waterfall right there I think he should have made a Lord Kelvin Generator, though I'm not sure how you could use the power generated by it.

I need to give the credit to Ginro and Kinro for being able to move those gears as fast as those drills to produce the electricity needed. No wonder they were dying at the end of each session. Lol

Larger disks means you don’t have to turn them as fast to get the same output. But it’s way harder
