Making M7730 Misses' Jacket sewing pattern, and drafted a facing and lining for the first time. Here's a look at the process I used to make this alteration to the original pattern. This will work on basic lined jacket / blazer / coat patterns.

Wow! Facing looks great. Clearly you've got 'mad sewing skills'. Can't wait to see the finished garment because I've been looking at some Pinterest (and Sewing Pattern Review) images of others who did this jacket and I'm not really seeing the issue of the lining being visible at the front opening seams. In the video you ask that we check back soon to see the finished garment but then wording flashes across the screen that reads 'coming in 2027'. I'm assuming that's a mistake and we won't have to wait 7-years (it's 2020 now) to see the finished garment.

Wow, Jen! This jacket lining looks fantastic! Very professional! So you drafted the lining facing because otherwise it would just be flapping around inside the jacket? Or maybe I missed the explanation. Can’t wait to see how it all comes together!

Just finished the project tonight with some hand sewing, and it turned out really cute. The facing was really needed, as the pattern originally just tells you to cut out main fabric, lining, so if done that way - the lining would be pretty visible at the front opening seams. It looks a lot better with the facing.
