Bill Jenkins was near the starting line when that distributor gear "supposedly" broke and the engine backfired...Jenkins said "I've never seen fire thrown that far out the hoodscoop at a [slightly higher than idle] running pro motor without nitous" !!!...They (Wayne County) bailed out of racing before the heat came down by staging an alleged shop burglary & vandalism. This pass should tell you something if you're well acquainted with pro-stock racing...look at the freeze frame, Then look at the numbers...This outcome is not supposed to happen in pro-stock especially this clean !

Bob Glidden took a nitrous car to the NHRA to show them how it was done. Then soon after the "vandalism" and looking at this video I call bs on the deniers.

Bobs sons told him that Wayne county an others were using nitrous. Bob said there’s no way nhra techs would find it, so rusty an billy showed him how they were doing it. In shock bob took the car with it “nitrous” to nhra and told them it had a nitrous kit installed and they “nhra” could not find it. Bob showed them where it was and that started the whole deal.

Those cars got torn down to a block and crank every week by the NHRA. Nothing shady was ever found. End of story.

Purging is entirely voluntary. No nitrous system has to be purged in order to work. Purging only makes nitrous perform consistently.

@@timsharpe3498 it didn't have to be purged cause it didn't exist on them cars those sore asss looser can't handle getting their asses hande to them by a Mopar. What they call nitrous is what is called hemi power

Its was only a very small bottle and like 40-50 horses is what a pro stock racer said. So no need to purge or add another fuel source for the nitrous. Just feed it to the carb that’s it.

alot of racer got busted for NOS.there was going to be a complete tear down of all prostocks the week of the break in .story is the NHRA busted them and let them get off with a lame story ,as not to upset Mopar ,which was a big sponsor

Jerry Eckman had the misfortune of a nitrous cylinder leak hidden in the dry sump canister while in staging lanes but NHRA did what they should have done with Wayne County...Stationed the state police at the rig so they ( Eckman/Orndorf) couldn't load-up and leave the way the Dodge boys did in Atlanta !

Benjamin Hedderly Wayne county dodge had nhra tech in their pits watching at all times , both cars torn down and inspected after every run etc . They never found anything ever , Warren Johnson was always accuseing anybody who beat him of cheating .

ford fairlane yes that's right, back in the day if you beat the GM guys and most of the time that's what happened you got accused of cheating Glidden and his Ford got accused of it also. Chevy never did compete against the Fords and chyslers back in the day, now NASCAR nhra and GM are up each other's ass they won't let Ford and chyslers compete. I wouldn't walk across the street to watch the cheaters win.

all use nitrous , secretely , so how you can explain ? too many races and breaking records , so many wins for Johnson ? and Bob Glidden ? , even Glidden once time addmited , no one could beat them , seems to me very suspicious , even today in Pro Stock , its a business matter.
