Sarah Henderson If you side with the Templar and made Alistar king you don't get the cameo. But he will write a letter asking the inquisition for help and in the tone of the letter he is the Alistar we all know and love.

Damn-just imagine the pain Fiona is feeling at that moment: her son, her only son, grow up to become a King and all she can do is look up at him with proud quiet eyes, and pray for her son and hear from others what accomplishment he’s made, his battles, his happiness... Fiona you deserve so much better...

I don't know. Fiona invited Tevinter into Ferelden, started a war for freedom and then immediately pledged herself to literal slavers, and actually tries to kill you at Haven. She's the worst, in DA: Inquisition.

And listen to her here, she has many under her protection, including children, whole Thedas is ready to hunt them down mercilessly because of Chantry's bullshit so she grasped the only help that was offered to her.She didn't remember asking the Quizzy in Val Royeaux, cause Alexius played with time. And she didn't invite them, they invited themselves, you should know that if you played this quest, they came, offered help and Fiona accepted. It's not like she had much choice, Anora or Alistair or both may have offered sanctuary to the mages but that doesn't mean that all of Fereldans would be ok with that.

MPHknows I understand why he can’t know as king, but as a Warden I think he should know, I mean if he’s the Warden, then they are literally at Skyhold at the same time, why can’t he find out then!? Goodness does that frustrate me, he wanted so much to find some semblance of family through Goldanna who isn’t even his sister, and I’m like your real mom is right there! Quizy tell him!

since Alistair turned into a good king it is safe to presume she has feeling for him regardless of her father's status because even if you execute loghain she will eventually accept the monster her father had become (a monster that needed to be put down) p.s if your curious in my thedas : loghain was executed by warden and Alistair rules with anora

Senior 02 Spared Loghain. He, unlike Alistair. is not deluded to the order and had been shaped by the trauma he endured. War criminal yes, but after Orzhammer I put Bhelen on the throne; evidently wiping out house Harrowmont. Mac Tir also served naive a king who he tried many times to keep from the front line. He also changed and believed in the wardens but prior had fear of Orlais due to how war shaped him. IF you can spare Anders or Solas then hypocrisy aries if Mac Tir is to fall. Loghain had also saved the men under his command. Anders and Solas are egomaniacs influenced and driven towards war. In my eyes my Cousland warden and Loghain are mirror images: family slain before them, a nation turned against them, sacrificing few for the good of many (Orzhammer politics and etc), development of leaders (Maric and Alistair).

@@charlespc8855 lmao, you dont need to justify your other choices regarding characters just because you left one live and other die. I dont even remember or care about Loghain's motivations or actions, I only know he killed shtloads of men, but I can say for sure I dont give a sht about them, ferelden or its citizens one way of the other and because of that dont care if Loghain lives or dies. I dont care about the elves, their heritage or anything like that but the current thedas is just a dump - if solas would make a new one where the elves will no longer be 3rd class citizens, I wont object but right now I also dont care. I care about how mages are treated so there's that. *Your* motivations to spare and support characters seem idiotic and absurd on the other hand. People choose to do either on a case by case basis, not just "spare everyone who never killed a man" or "execute everyone who killed a man" or "spare everyone just cause". Also lold ot 'spared solas' - you dont even have a chance to kill him yet.

People say they don't like Alistair in this scenario since he's so much more scornful and stern compared to DAO, but in all honesty, I think this is how a king should be. To rule, you must not play the fool else pray your people do not trample over you. It's said that Alistair has never been good at governing, hence why he never wanted to be a king, but paired with Anora makes shapes into a much more capable ruler. You must do whatever it is that you can for your people and your homeland, and you must be prepared to be as harsh as need be to do so.

He can be a good king by himself, but I actually prefer him with Anora. And I agree he has to be harsher with the mages in this scene, I mean, they weren't victims anymore after what happened to Redcliffe.

Hardening him makes him a good ruler, as he takes it more serious. Becoming hardened *and* marrying Anora gives Fereldon a power couple at it's helm.

Anora definitely looks better in DAO. She looks worse in Frostbite engine, but that is just my opinion.

I had this cutscene in my walkthrough. What surprises me is that nobody kneels before the royal couple. It is THE KING and THE QUEEN of Ferelden standing right there and nobody kneels? Such disrespect. In DA 2 at least Aveline had some proper manners and kneeled before king Alistair. Edit: and how the fuck do they look? This is supposed to by the royal clothing? They look like fucking peasants, Vivienne should teach them something about noble fashion.

Kneeling requires putting in more time and resources into animating what is a short and optional scene, one that only a certain amount of players will ever see.

Well she must feel lucky wasnt executed since that was one the biggest backstabing he was helping the mages even before the rebelion and she sell the second most important Ferelden city to Tevinter in the middle of a war.....

If you harden him in Origins then he takes being King seriously, and this causes Anora to respect him more. It makes sense that after a few years they'd become a power couple.

@@Elvenwyn Nah, Alistair can still be soft after taking him to Goldanna if the Warden doesn't use the right dialogue options. The only option that I recall from the DA Keep that could signal that Alistair was hardened is Loghain living and Alistair being king at the same time.

AntiXaldin I'd be surprised if they had much of a sexual relationship. As shown through Alistair's romance, he doesn't take well to physical intimacy without personal/emotional intimacy. Sure, that may have changed over the years, but they don't have that much chemistry.

There is no reason for after ten years of marriage for them to not be much more comfortable with each other. Also, they do have chemistry. Notice that Alistair always use "we" never "I" which he could, as king. Clearly, they see each other as equals.

AntiXaldin Seeing each other as equals doesn't equal chemistry. And Alistair has used 'we' since Origins, even though he was senior warden and could take full control. I've seen every version of this seen with them both, and nothing has shown anything between them other than respect. And respect doesn't mean anything about romance. And being more comfortable with each other doesn't equal romance. I'm going off of their characters and what I see. And I see no evidence or hinting of them having a decent romantic or intimate relationship, and judging off of Alistair's character, I wouldn't expect one. This is my interpretation, though.

Alistair needs to be seen as a king and the mages have been doing things they shouldn't so of course hes gonna be stern but I'm pretty sure due to his adventures he still tolerates the mages. Also this is probably the first time since he was a Child that Fiona has seen Alistair. And I dont even think he knows that shes his mother. And she was a warden that fought alongside Duncan to.

Past glories do not excuse present (at the time in origins) atrocities I'm sure Meredith was once a great knight Commander too... they simply don't. and saying simply because they were in essence afraid of losing the power they held over the country they so-called loved (they did inflict Civil War upon it, Loghain does anyway while she stands by) so that excuses their actions or inactions and what they allowed to happen or turn a blind eye to? Anytime someone's trying to defend him it seems like they're bringing up his past, everybody's got a past you know? and it doesn't excuse the present because there are plenty of other characters people condemned no matter what and despite his past of fighting against them ironically his present was simply orlesian, Allowing his so-called friend's son to die just so his daughter / the Queen by marriage could stay in power? And the many other things you find out he's allowed and tries to excuse in the landsmeet? he's irredeemable by that point, delusional and just making excuses and she would still back him and make excuses for him therefore she's guilty for association and hypocrisy, she might be even more power hungry than he is, they both seem to have a God complex and don't think that anyone is able to do what "they" feel needs to be done and in all of that worst of all I rarely ever hear them talking about what's good for the people, you know the ones they're so desperate to be in power over? unless it's in some extremely screwed up manner talking about the numbers or the sacrifices sounds a lot like Celine doesn't it? The empress who beds elves as well as purges them

FYI, the armor King Alistair is wearing is the same armor he wore in the Silent Grove comic book series in where he travels with Isabella, Varric and Sten to find his father, who was being tortured by a Tevinter Mage as he was using his royal dragon blood to power some device which will give that mage access to the Fade and rule it.

I never could (in any of my playthroughs) marry Alistair to Anora ugh. I prefer him being a drunk man than... marry THIS (¬¬) woman. Thanks for sharing so many "possible" scenarios Fluffy, if it wasn't for you I will not see ALL those possibilities. I find funy that almost (technically) all the choices you choose, are the same as mine in my playthrough. But... still in my first playthrough 70+ hours, my human mage, romancing Cullen, have to go for the Eluvian (saying no more, I don't want to make spoilers if I can avoid it. And you are in your 3 playthrough lol It's awesome. (I'm careful only to watch videos of scenes that I already saw in my playthrough and see different outcomes and possibilities. All your characters are awesome and pretty! I don't know how you do it. But great work. But... there was a moment when you MC is talking with Fiona that made me think about Prince Charming of Shrek (the hair, the face and talking with "Fiona" XD). Again thanks for sharing all this, and waiting for more of your videos. I hope you do one romancing Dorian, I really LOVE Dorian XD.

I got this scene. What happens if the queen is the Warden? Does Alistair just show up by himself? If so, that's wack... and I was really surprised by this scene. Isn't Fiona Alistair's mother? And yet he acted so coldly towards her. They acted like they don't know each other. That was heart breaking. Also, I wonder what happened to Goldanna...

ジョネーJonét Alistair doesn't know that Fiona is his mother the only ones who know about that were Fiona Maric Duncan Loghain and Arle Eamon not even Eamon's wife knew about this Eamon Alistair is Son of Maric and Fiona So of course they know than la Loghain who was the best friend of Maric and Duncan who had the joining with Fiona they were best friends too Eamon knows because He wanted to Defend his sister Honor and Duncan always took care of Alistair that's why He conscripted Alistair because He saw that Alistair war Sad and than Alistair survived to the battle of Ostagar thanks to Duncan ohh Yes and Cailan knew to i dont how but still

Watching this really made me like siding with the templars more in my playthroughs. Cause seriously Redcliff wasn't even theirs but they kicked out the arl and gave it to Tevinter like WTF. I don;t care if you're desperate Redcliff wasn't yours to give. At least the Templars got a reliable leader in the end. Ser Barris is GOAT

question doesnt this take place like 10 plus years after dragon age origins if i remember correctly in return to ostagar there was a note talking about how anora hadnt given cailan and heir even though she was getting older or something like that she was mid to late 20s atleast so now shes gotta be what mid 30s to late 30s and she still hasnt had a child maybe getting alistair to marry anora was a waste since she might not even be able to have children in the first place that and i prefer him when he rules by himself seems much more nice of a guy in my opinion

Kinda late on this but remember, Wardens have darkspawn taint on them. They can pass this taint to their born children, causing them to live less than 30 years. That's why the HoF (Hero of Ferelden) is travelling west to find a cure to the taint. It was possible a few times with avernus using blood magic and a certain warden suddenly being stripped of their taint yet no cure was currently found, that's why the HoF is travelling.

Arashikage Zero Ya Templar route,they won't make appearance and have to kill Fiona =0! The Mages route seems more "Cannon-ish" in a way,i do it on my 2nd PT. Wha'ts your class btw? Mine is Assassin Dual rogue ^^ Ya sadly the Anime started great and it detracted from the Manga,it skipped 10 CHAPTERS W0rth of Character developments/Contents + a 3rd Faction Wild Hunt lead by Shuru . General Budoc doesn't die so easily. I went through 3rd Transformation of Incursio even . I recommend picking up the Manga, reading chap 37-52 where Anime Stopped after Seryu death.

Tatsumi Anime Superhero Fan Have to kill Fiona? And I took the same route, and I'm a tempest dual wield rogue. And yeah the anime I heard is leaving out many chapters and content, as well as changing most of it such as how Mine is not killed in the fight to save Tatsumi, Lubbock was first tortured... Don't even want to explain what they did... Just nasty... and he died differently too

Arashikage Zero Manga is more Mature M18 deep brutal sh**t too :0. So much Exposition/Character developments/Story arcs skipped .. bah boring to rant on how much Whitefox messed up a Great Anime.. Tempest dual rogue? i don't find that compatible imo :0 even though . I even tried doing Poison blades + Frost of Ice & Toxic Cloud +Frost of Fire + Spinning Blades or Throwing knives. Just didn't cut for me AOE-centred abilities ,even Thousand cut AOE purposed & finisher with the Singular target . I am Lv23 Assassin Specc- grabbed all the Passives across Subterfuge/Sabotage/Assassin /Dual-rouge trees,although Assassin somewhat has mixed of Range/Melee Archery Ambush + Looks like it hurt + Gap in the Armor + Cheap shot + Mercy killing + Throatcutter ,etc. Now my Crit 118% lol with 427 dps Curved-bladed Master corruption rune daggers. But,i believe Archery Assassin can hit more to 8K with 1 shot. My highest Crit was only 4k-6k range even with Ring of Critical unique rings & Ring of flanking + all the Crafted materials

Tatsumi Anime Superhero Fan Oh wow nice, what difficulty do you play on? And Yeah I know, the manga is much better imo. And I dunno, I enjoy using Tempest more and I sucked withy assassin... Tempest is kind of suiting me and I've grown an attachment to it lol :o I'd say it's kind of due to my high crits and updrades on my tempest abilities that makes it stronger for me than assassin, and my gear is mostly optimized towards more focus gain... At 60% bonus focus gained, 7.5% bonus focus gained with each enemy within 8m, and then the party coordination attacks granting bonus focus. I get max focus to tier 3 very quickly, and then for my gear my amulet is superb cooldown amulet, so all my cooldowns are 15% less So I can use my abilities of tempest more often with its effects and such they provide me... Dunno, I guess its flashy moves makes me like it to tbh haha and I play on hard though, so on nightmare I'd more than likely not do well I guess... Unless I solo with Vivienne haha she's way to over powered...

Spoilers!! - If you choose the Templars, you won't see Alistair if he is king. You'll only get a mission on the War table from him regarding peace talks. If you kept him as a grey warden you will definitely see him regardless of what side you picked ^^

Alistair is always good for a surprise. In DAO, when you are his friend he shows his inner strengh and thoughtfull mind, he hides behind self-deprecating humor and a himbo aura, since he was a victim of child abuse mostly by the chantry and due to his past, where always others made decisions for him, he has not a lot of self-confidence makes himself smaller to protect himself of getting hurt. He was a troublemaker in his chantry days and adding to his sarcastic humor, he still has a strong will. You can help him by hardening him during his personal quest you only get when you have at least 30 approval. From this day forward, he stands more for himself and grows in self-confidence and maturity. His disapproval to some problematic decisions like sacrificing Isolde is a lot lower. He will become more pragmatic but has still strong morals, but he is capable of adjusting to reality and making difficult decisions. He is willingly to become king and learn all parts of governance and proves himself as a strong and couragious leader.

I would have figured Fiona would be much older considering she is Alistair's mother and had him in her early thirties. That would put her in her early sixties. Did what cured her of the taint also help make her live an extra extended life?

As a dwarf or a human you can say things like "you all look the same age to me" and stuff like that that insinuates that elves tend to not age very quickly aesthetics wise.

I went with the Templars because I read a walkthrough that said I needed to if I wanted to romance Cullen. I'm a bit disappointed I was swayed by such bullshit though. There seems to be a lot more care and story built into siding with the mages.

honestly thats how it is in all the games. defending mages always seems to be the choice Bioware wants you to prefer. especially in DA2. Meredith was sort of shaped to be the villain throughout the game. and she's night commander. and your family is full of mages too. In this game Allstar doesn't show up if you pic templars

My god Alistair's outfit is enough to make your eyes bleed. Who on Earth dressed the poor man? That's the ugliest outfit in the whole game. Including Cullen's fur collar, Solas's nipple hat, and the Inquisitor's beige pajama outfit. You'd think a king could affor something better. Even his armor in Origins was much nicer.

What did you expect? I mean, it's realistic. More realistic than the friendship/rivalry thing. Your actions IRL can color how people see you, quite a bit actually, and if you make decisions that go against someones moral integrity, they probably wont want to be all cuddly and lovey dovey with you.

Yeah, I like the Friendship/Rivalry system more than the approval system. The upper comment says is more realistic, but in the long run I am sure most players are afraid of pissing their companions with their answers, while the F/R system in DA2 gave you more freedom to be real with your companions.
