So, this game was on sale in the PS shop for under nine bucks. At the time, i had only heard of Dragonage: Origins, so, seeing this game for *only 7.45,* i thought this was one of those silly, not really great spin off games from that franchise. I left the title screen on, because i had stuff to do before playing the game, and was genuinely impressed with the music. Never has game blown me so completely out of the water before. And i got the GAME OF THE YEAR EDITION. For under nine bucks.

aro p DA: Origins => Amazing DA II => A big dissapointment *compared* to origins, but not as bad as most say. DA: I => Amazing (although some people say it's shit for some reason :/, trolls probably) *More in depth:* Most memorable cast: 1/2) Origins 2/1) Inquisition 3) II Most impactfull story: 1) Inquisition 2) Origins 3) II Most impact on the world: 1) Inquisition 2/3) II (red lyrium + mage rebellion began there which impacted nearly entire Thedas (also since some rebels tried to murder the Divine) 3/2) Origins (an entire country was saved, but the darkspawn would have been stopped by the other wardens nearly as soon as it crossed the border) Graphics: Do I even need to tell? Combat/ classes: 1) Inquisition (Class specializations are well done) 2/3) II (introduced the more action packed combat) 3/2) Origins (most specializations) Side-note: English isn't my first language so spelling can be a bit off.

Agent Sambora That's why I did the "1/2)" and "2/1)" thing gothicfan52 Yes and no, like I said, that's why I did the "2/3)" and "3/2)". My reason for DA II having more impact then Origins; Darkspawn can't use boats as far as we know so the only way for them to advance is towards Orlais, which is still full of wardens. So I think one of the worst cases would be that half of Orlais was lost before the wardens killed the archdemon. It still took the darkspawn 1 year to reach Denerim remember? And Orlais is even bigger then Ferelden. Also, even though we don't know much about the 1st blight, I think it's pretty safe to assume that that one was the worst, and yet Thedas is still standing. And the mage rebellion has a bigger ("longterm") effect on Thedas; -a lot of people start to hate magic even more -rogue templars and mages => innocent people die -multiple assassination attempts on the Divine -the conclave had to be made => start of Inquisition -the venatori "taking in" the mage rebels => bad Tevinters in Ferelden => *childich voice*: "let's play with magic we don't understand, it'll make us incredibly powerfull" ~Dorian -1 big reason (among others probably) for the templars to start taking red lyrium and siding with Corypheus -war in general => -swooping => swooping is bad

With every other DLC in, I can safely say that this game is on of the best game ever made. Its something to have done a game of this magnitude, its is something else entirely to see the absolute awe-inspíring fashion bioware nailed it in. The timing, the tempo, the music, the humor. To the tears, laughs and all in all epic story that they created is not matched by anyone in the industry. Their special brand of games is as always an incredible accomplishment. This time, they might just have outdone themselfs. I cannot fathom how they got ALL THIS into one game.

Jonas De Moor It might be the epic feel of the piece. it seems to return to the 'pulse' of Origins but to ramp it up to even greater levels. It's more than fitting to me for an epic struggle to fight against and conquer a potential world-ending threat to all of Thedas.

Whoami691 Man, do i hope like hell alongside with you that game publishers stop forcing game developers to rush so they can meet the all important deadline so they can throw it out just in time for something like christmas and get money rolling in above all else. Forcing developers to release a rushed unfinished game that ruins their reputation so t he publisher can rake in some more cash. Pretty much every aaa title from developers that got rushed by their publisher has ranged from minor dissapointment to embarassing pieces of crap(SUP PC version Unity). So ye, im really hoping EA got their head out of their ass and let their developing companies actually finish the game instead of releasing a glorified alpha/beta version that runs like shit, plays like shit looks like shit (Sup DA2 and others) Well no idea where this rant came from, didnt intend such a long post thats pretty much a rant adressed to no one, well except EA, Sega(die in a fire please) and others.
@jonasty123dm9 жыл бұрын
Providencenl The developers of the Witcher are a perfect example about how it's done RIGHT: first delaying a release several months because they knew they hadn't enough time; then delaying it a few days before release because they wanted to polish the game to ensure the best possible experience. That's how a a good game is made. I'm glad Inquisition turned out to be good :)
@andrewvincent72997 жыл бұрын
Jonas De Moor I'm glad Bioware got Trevor Morris to do the ost for this game. He did an amazing job and the main theme for DAI is the best theme out of all three games. While I really enjoyed what Inon Zur did with the DAO soundtrack, I really didn't like the direction he went with Da2. While the theme for Da2 is really really good, there are only maybe two songs that are good(The Qunari theme and the mage theme) everything else that was original for the game was not very good. Some of the kirkwall music when you're walking around is terribly bland and makes the game dull.

Some problems, were the restrictive map designs sometimes, that made it difficult to navigate at times, and the ocassional bug. But none of these come close to affecting the experience. Bare your blade, And Raise it High!

Now rise my friend...Rise and see - The dawn will come...Rise and take up arms in the name of our Grand Inquisitor! Rise and remember the honor of the Grey Wardens...Rise and see how our swords and the burning light of our justice will shine over these lands! Both Mages and Templars, and all of the guilty will answer for their crimes! Together we will bring back the light and hope in this world. Together we will bring order and a new Age for this world! i'll be honest, this game made me go back in time, back in time and(not the same, but very similar genre) reminded me of when younger I played for the first time Baldur's Gate 1-2~... That feeling. Amazing and wonderful game. If you're still wondering whether to buy it or not, do not lose time thinking about it, go and buy it if you like the genre, totally worth it.

haha, just bought dragon age origin (never played it before) and dragon age 2 (played it once, wasn't into RPGs too much at that time) and man, the lore, bastard kings, evil powers that lurk in the shadows. It's basically Game of Thrones in a different universe and I LOVE IT. Mass Effect got me hooked with bioware games and now I can't play anything else anymore because almost all the other games are way too generic and lack to create an emotional connection to the characters.
@joeymitchell28626 жыл бұрын
I was grossly disappointed by Dragon Age Origins and it took me ages to finish it, but I would definitely call it a great game. Dragon Age Inquisition however, is a masterpiece. It brings back an RPG standard I had almost forgotten from the days of Baldur's Gate 2 and Planescape Torment.

I remember the first time playing this. The time I've spent making up my Inquisitors backstory, the love I felt for my companions and how I giggled at their banter during travels. The attack on Haven, searching for your friends in the snow, not knowing whether they live or not. I sincerlely wasn't sure if main characters had died and was afraid. Them singing. The first time seeing Skyhold...Gods I wish I could erase my memory to get those first times back just once more.

There are so many amazing fantasy videogame and movie soundtracks, like the Elder Scrolls, Lord of the Rings or Game Of Thrones are all amazing, but this song (in my opinion), there's just something about it that really puts me in this mood of going on this big fantasy adventure, all of them do but this one really gets me there.

Just coming from the massive spectacle that was the mass effect trilogy that I just finished for the first time I felt right at home in dragon age. It’s story immediately gripped me with its score beatiful world and especially its characters. I love all if the characters already and i’m not even halfway through. Iron Bull, Dorian, Cassandra and Varric are easily ny favorites. The combat is the only thing i’m not overly fond of but I knew that going in. It has aspects from my favorite fantasy works like game of thrones and the witcher with the world travelling. I swear this theme is so iconic already.

I'm so fed up of games not being fully recognised as full works of art. How is this any less engaging than a film, a painting, a book?? Which this medium surpasses completely. This actually gives people the means to write their own story, craft their own piece of art. It gives a much more personal experiences that film and books can only dream of, while still maintaining engaging plot and stunning visuals through out. This song alone shows the vision and care that has been poured into this creation. Well done bio ware, keep the video game front alive :)
@thegamesforreal16737 жыл бұрын
This! Games can be so much more than just shoot 'em up or hack and slash violence. There is a keyword in which a game surpasses ALL other mediums: Immersion. Nothing can compare to that feeling of having your own character undergo a story that you partially created through choices of your own. Remember shadow of mordor's nemesis system? It allowed every player to have a completely unique experience in terms of enemies, and crafted stories of rivalry and revenge. We need an expanded version of that, so it works on your allies as well, but with Dragon Age's writers for the amazing story arcs, Elder Scrolls' character levelling for that feeling of growing in power, and Dark Souls' area designers for the amazing atmosphere they can create, for the ultimate mashup of an immersive game.
@konstantinschmitz32096 жыл бұрын
I would say the biggest reason for games not being called art is simply time. I mean gaming has only been around for roughly 40 years starting with Pong and games like DA:I are MUCH younger. Just give it time, someday games will be recognized like this, we just have to wait ;-)
