@1Lanavis1 I remember exactly! When you go back to cullen and are able to ask him a couple questions, I clicked "how's your family" , then, "I miss the people back at home". And he speaks about how sorry he is that you lost your clan.

Watch the scene on how Sera can break up with an elven inquisitor and I think I understand why so many people dislike her. Sera is willing to break up with someone over religion. The Inquisitor can agree with Sera's opinion on elves or ignore it and be with her. Sera? If you show even the slightest bit of interest in elven history, she will threaten to break up with you. She pretty much says you have to put her over your cultural heritage, identity and history, and not even show interest in it. That's just manipulative and if you say you still have interest in elven culture, she'll be pissed and guilt-trip you. If you afterwards try and remain friends with her, she'll reject that and act like you did something terrible. I'm fairly new to the Dragon Age universe and its lore, but even without any background information, I find Sera's reaction just downright repulsive. If she truly loved the Inquisitor, she wouldn't force her to choose over something so small. I'm sure Sera can be a good friend. But as a love interest...No. Just...No. Anyone who would do something like that to someone they claim they love doesn't truly love them. I'm an atheist and my girlfriend is religious. Yet while we have discussions about it, we never forced each other to choose.

megadracosaurus From what i understood, she wanted to avoid a huge fight. Throughout the whole filtering before you start a romance, she was skeptical because she doesn't believe in the elven gods. She says over and over how she never excepted the culture as hers, despite all her reading on elven culture and how she grew up in the alianage. I can understand why people thinks she wants the Inquisitor to discredit her whole heritage. But I never thought the dalish Inquisitor to really be an elf like Merrill or Velena who, if given the chance, go back to their clan.

Actually if you think about it, the Solas romance is no different. He actually removes something from you that had meaning to your people. And right after that, HE BREAKS UP WITH YOU. Oh and threatens to destroy the world along with all it's people just so he can redeem himself.

wingy158 - I liked Sera, I know she belives in Maker, has crush on qunari women (unfortunate for her my first playthrough was female Adaar) and is pretty childlish. I understood that. However knowing her especially on Lavellan was just painfull. Sure my Inquisitor never mocked Sera, never insulted her belief in Maker she generally treated Sera good, but for some pretty stupid reason Sera ALWAYS tended to make harder for Lavellan to befriend with her (it's called racism lol, she is a giant hypocrite). The most cruel thing was when she laughed AFTER Temple of Mythal. I'm sorry but that was fucked up. As for someone who never did her wrong, never bashed her religion or anything even behaviour (and there were many things to desire) she was just cruel. Lavellan had just history lesson which was proving that entire her culture is a lie, entire life is based on misinterpretations and lies. And here we have Sera who is only "Hahaha you Dalish are dumb-dumbs ! Suckers !" and if your Lavellan at the slightest still is accepting the old faith she is going full Pepe meme with "Ryyyiii !" on you. Also huge bonus for her to dislike you. For well NONE reason. Even Solas quickly understood that this truth in Temple was hard for you and was more compassionate even if out of these two - Sera and Solas - it was Solas who had hard time from Dalish culture after being awaken. So yes even if I liked her character in general, Sera does suck as friend when you are Dalish. I tend to understand her racist loyalty points as big design FAILURE in general. She was immidiate friend with my apostate Adaar because she has thing for qunari women, she was in middle friend with my Circle Mage Travelyan for some reasons .. I have no idea what was the deal here perhaps she don't like humans that much, but she was total asshole to my Lavellan even if my Lavellan was an archer who enjoyed jokes and people. It's like they designed her for two worst things - sexism (she can't really help herself with NOT mentioning anything regarding her being lesbian) and racism (Lavellan situation, too quick in loyalty for Adaar just to have chance to reach her panties). Plus after Trespasser I was absolutly horrified what BioWare did to Dagna. Dagna ! Shouldn't Varric be with miss crazy Dagna ? He obviously liked intelligent dwarven woman and Bianca is major bust plus she is now mass hypocritical murderer - he should look after replacement now. And players who survived Origins may be pissed off that BioWare is just making Dagna for no reason lesbian. You as player met Dagna as almost kid and then your Warden decided her fate, now Inquisitor was helping her career. She is like mini Clementine situation. Some kid who grow up during games and players action affect them directly. Turning Dagna into lesbian (who LOVES magic and worshipped Paragons) and ship her with Sera (who HATES magic and accepts ONLY Maker) is horrible. Sera should be with Harding, that's much more her style. Uh Solas removes vellaslin if you desire it in romace. He says what is true meaning of it and then well he quickly catches up that it's another major breakdown for Lavellan to know it. He instantly backs off saying that maybe now for Dalish culture it means something better - just so he wouldn't hurt her that much with truth. It's up to Lavellan herself whether she wants it to be gone since now she knows what is origin of it or to stay for sake of her clan relations. Well not sure about destruction, after all somehow elves and dwarves survived previous apocalypse ... it will be some major catastrophe but I think world will survive. Also his breaking up is tied exacly to him knowing that destroying the Veil is necessity to repair world to state it was. And very possible Lavellan would hate him for knowing who he trully is (up to player in dlc), what he has done (Veil thus creating Fade and demons and all problems with magic lack) and what he is desperate to do to fix it (tearing up Veil thus being like Corypheus for less selfish reasons) which may kill Lavellan herself in process so he know: 1) he does not deserve her in his opinion 2) he possibly will unintentionally kill her when tearing up the veil to fix his mistake

+cracmar03 there should've been an option to kill Sera off, the murder knife from previous games that's used to insta-kill lots of ppl in cutscenes shoulda come back. Actually the option to kill Vivienne should've appeared too! at least u get to kick Sera out anyway

She never did the fawning dialogue for my qunari mage, there was no "look at the viddisala" type words spoken, just kind of Dorian and Bull talking if I remember

@Melody Ackerman the dev did a disservice to the dalish and elves in general. We got será that cares about the normal people of thedas but doesn't see elves as her people and doesn't acknowledge that while poor people have all a crappy time elves have it even worse. Then we got Solas who was like this elves are not true elves. I teared up a bit when mythal said my lavellan made the people proud

@Melody Ackerman not all elves are like that. There is a big distinction between city elves and dalish. And wallowing in their past? Is their culture and heritage, one they lost because of humans, two times. They are not wallowing they are trying to reclaim their history. If you really want to see the elves that way because they care about their culture we can also criticize the rest of the races for the same. The qunari for trying to follow every word a random man said, the humans for spreading and preaching about a maker they don't know if it exist and a dead woman. The dalish are not assholes. There are plenty of instances of them doing good and also there are a lot of dalish not just one clan that is representative of the whole race or faction. Honestly bioware crafted such a deep and complex world for you to summarize it like that? And even if you where to do that, which group of people of thedas aren't assholes??

Unless you romanced solas and find out what the valasslin really is. When the inquisitor tells her about the valasslin (no matter high or low the approval is i believe) her response is very disrespectful and shows no remorse over the whole thing 💦

No, she's an internalized racist. Being annoyed at her people is one thing, but the way she talks about the dalish seem worse than just hating condescending people. She's also antagonistic. Wrex from Mass Effect is a way better character that does this. He is upset that his people mostly just want war, and he eventually leads the clan and tries to make things better. He doesn't insult other krogans unnecessarily and call them too krogany. He sees a problem and eventually toughens up and realizes he'll need to fix that problem. Sera just insults you for being Dalish.

War table operation. Starts with Contact Clan Lavellan and it's a chain. And it's veery easy to accidentaly wipe out your clan.

Out of all the racially based missions, it's easiest to get the Clan killed. Do it right and Clan Lavellan becomes the rulers of Wycome, uniting with the City Elves and being politically recognized by Kirkwall Viscount Varric in trespasser giving them big clout. But the wrong choices will see the Clan wiped out by bigoted humans.

If there were survivors, I'd think they would make a wiiiiide birth around anything resembling human civilisation and the Jennies only operate in cities or noble homes. I don't think they would accidently trip over Dalish survivors unless they actively look for them and the Jennies aren't an organized under the Inquisition (or in any way) so they wouldn't look for them just because. What I'm saying in short: Sera probably went out of her Dalish hating ways to ask her friends to look for the Clan. Because she's a good friend to Lavellan.
