I'm on my first playthrough and I'd just wrapped up clearing out Denerim. I was on my way to the elf village when I got this encounter. Thought it was cute, looked at the axe you get and saw the "Lucky" trait, went online to see what that means and apparently people just don't get this encounter very often. Kinda wish I used my luck on something else, but hey, weird backstab axe with a str requirement too high for any rogue.

I just got this! Apparently it has a REALLY low trigger chance of happening. I got a fairly nice axe with the following specs: Axemeter (Silverite) Waraxe, Main hand Silverite (Tier 6) Requires: 27 strength Damage: 9.00 Critical chance: 1.50% Armor penetration: 3.50 Strength modifier: 1.10 +2 damage Lucky +10% critical/backstab damage +4 damage vs. dragons

The Keening Blade looks just like that as well, you can get it among other sweet loot in the "Unbound" Quest. The Keening blade however can only be used by a warrior, so if your PC can't use it would still be worth getting it for Allister or Logain.

this encounter is extremely rare and renders a powerful axe. ive beaten this game uncountable times and have never gotten it

its the Starfang sword you get from bring the ore from the meteorite(random encounter) to the guy in wardens keep that...smelts stuff. I already finished my game so I used a cheat code to get another.

There's another Monty Pythong reference in the Andraste's Ashes quest. One of the ghosts will ask "A small bird could carry me, but the strongest man may not. What am I?" And one possible answer is "A coconut!"

@LunarDragon It's one of the fourth-tier dual weapon talents. It's called Dual Weapon Mastery or something. Lets you wield two full sized weapons.

Reporting in that i just got this random encounter and have never seen it in my life... 10 years of playthroughs. I was travelling from Haven to the Dalish elves' camp, I've completed everything except the urn quest and the dwarf quest.

@enternius To be even more obvious, what they say is actually "Ser". It's pronounced the same as sir, but is more of a knightly title IIRC.

I flipped out so bad when this happened because my friend who introduced me to these games, who has played this over 30 times through, had never seen it before!!

No, it can occur for anyone, but it's extremely rare. I haven't even gotten it. You have to travel for hours between Denerim and the outskirts of the Bracillian forest.

@RivalX1525 No its not a PC thing. Dual wielding get the mastering of one of them and it'll let you equip two full sized blades. I think it's the first or last row. Really useful having two full sized swords.

I got this encounter after not playing this game for several months and playing a new game as the Dalish Elf. It was interesting .

@RivalX1525 If you get your top branch of the dual wielding tree maxed, the last thing is something like "Dual-Weapon Mastery" and it allows you the use of two full-sized, one-handed weapons like swords, axes, etc. I just wish they had something like that for two-handed weapons so Sten could wield two bad-ass swords at once.

@salenkov "Ser" is the title for any knight. It gets mixed up with "Sir" a lot.

@Yugiohfan7520 Yusaris is way better. Found in the Circle of Magi during a quest. I believe it has something to do with the Apprentices' Notes...Then activating the statues in the proper manner. Left, Right, Middle...Then keep up the tower until you reach the room with 4 statues holding shields as part of a single monument. One will be interactive. Click it and then when you return to the first floor, you can interact with the Basement door[locked] and a demon will appear. Slay it!

I got this today in Dragon Age Origins on PS3. I laughed so hard. It surprised me a great deal because I have never gotten it before in my last three playthroughs.

@DeatgMagnet u r clearly mistaken then... "DUAL WEAPON MASTERY - Only a chosen few truly master the complicated art of fighting with two weapons. The character is now among that elite company, able to wield full-sized weapons in both hands. Characters with this ability have their fatigue permanently reduced by -2.5% when dual-wielding and main hand wpns will change to onehand for neone who takes this mastery" so yes u can dual weild 2 1hand swords in each hand without modding

JUST FOUND IT!!. Took forever but it was worth it. i think it is just general luck based. i had wynne, lilaena and alasiter with me but I don't think whoever's in your party makes a difference. I got it after the landsmeet too, and traveled back and forth from denerim to brecilian outskirts. i saved a couple of times in denerim doing the same thing and it just happened. takes time but it worked. hope this helps somebody xD

@tsethbright She says 'ser.' It's what they use as a title knights or "betters." Male or female.

Have you seen the Superman Easter Egg? I came across it on my way to Denerim, I think. Blatant amazing-ness, it was.

The funniest part is Female Human nobels can become queen...

it is. +4 armor penetration/+6attack/+3cold damage and 3 slots for runes but only a warrior can use it

@MrMetsakurat ironically i got it my first playthrough and never saw it again, general occurance is between the forest and denerim in travel or the forest and lothering in travel, have fun attempting =D

@pivotlordylord I always get that.... this is Axameter, the axe in the stump.... its an ultra-rare encounter.. I've never gotten it... just wondered if there was a way to kinda get it or if its just my permacrappy luck. I personally like the random encounter where you run into two dwarf bodies, a spider in a dark forest, with a note wondering why the flying eagles didn't help. Guess those two never made it there... or back... again. :P

I never got this one either. When I run out of random encounters I always get that one annoying dwarf with useless shit that I never buy, wasting my time and making the game load twice as long. But oh well, this is a pretty forced nudge to Monty Python, they make it even more obvious with "she doesn't have DUNG all over her" all I can say to that is "yeah, I get it. It's Monty Python." On an unrelated note, Holy Grail is the funniest movie in existence

@enternius That, plus "ser" in DA is a unisex term. Ser Cauthrien, for example, is most definitely female.

@InsanelyxLogical I don't play through as female characters, I generally stick to my own gender. As for Cauthrien, I really don't remember her that much. The only time I actually remember seeing her was at Loghain's side, after rescuing Anora, and at the Lands meet. And she's only there for a few moments. So in my opinion, she wasent really an important character. And I'm not an ass, your first response to something I said so long ago annoyed me is all.

@InsanelyxLogical I only thought the battle at the Estate was challenging. But I wanted to go to Drakes fall, so i let myself lose ^_^. The dialogue you miss if you kill her is just to good to miss XD. But as for the Lands Meet fight, I thought she was incredibly easy. Of course, I usually use persuasion to change her mind.

what swords are those and how did you get you carry two swords instead of 1 sword and 1 dager the blades are shaped a little like this red steels dagger I had, just longer and not made of red steele..
