Dragon Ball Xenoverse DLC Pack 3 introduces Elder Kai as a mentor. One of his abilities is to predict WHEN you will receive an item & attack.

By talking to Elder Kai and getting him to read your fortune, you will either increase your drop rate OR guarantee it if he says "You can't get luckier than this". Enjoy! By the way! I'm afraid you're not seeing the *real* issue here. Elder Kai is part of DLC Pack 3. You have to *buy* a piece of DLC to supposedly "fix" an issue with the game. Let me rephrase that: on top of spending $50 - $60 on the base game, you also have to spend $10 more in order to get a feature that fixes an *actual problem* with the game, rather than having the developers fix their god damn product. Fuck's sake, getting Elder Kai to say "oh, you're getting lucky this time!" *is RNG itself.* RNG in this game is *not* a feature, it is a problem. It has absolutely no reason to be there, at all. Replayability? That's not good replayability, that's just a stupid barrier that leads to stress. Just because it makes it easier, that doesn't mean this Elder Kai perk is a good thing. They handled the RNG with this game *horribly,* and this is *not* the proper solution.

I don't think RNG is a problem; I have played a shit ton of games like Monster Hunter and Dark Souls that have MUCH worse RNG. 2% drop chances n shit on some of the hardest quests or those hard to get Black Knight weapons. So I guess the RNG here isn't a problem, plus the PQs here are pretty easy, just a bitch to do over and over again. And this isn't a fix for RNG, Elder Kais blessing is also based on RNG.

I've done Parallel Quest 24 so many times trying to get the z-soul "No more games..." (At least 10-15). I found this today and I got a few fortunes out of him saying that I was lucky but in the end, I still didn't get the z-soul. After I kept trying, I got one fortune from him saying something about a "golden tree" and that "I can't get luckier than that". I don't know if it was a coincidence or not but after I did the next PQ, I finally got the z-soul. The people who are saying it's not working are probably not aware that they have to get these specific phrases from him to guarantee the drops. I wouldn't be surprised if there is still RNG involved even after getting it.

The reason why he has a good side ability is because of his last mentor quest being absolute hell. You get Potential Unleashed, but have to be lvl93 to actually start the mission

I can confirm that this doesn't work. After damn near triple digit fortune reads, NOT ONCE did he say anything about a "Golden Fruit", or "You can't get any luckier". Just the typical Fruit Tree & the Cloudy Vision. So, like I mentioned before Rhyme, you prolly need to/should go ahead & remove the "Guarantee" from the video title -- some people may be mislead & become upset. (Just a heads up!)

That's really awesome! I had no idea what that fortune did. Based on the text, I thought it had something to do with the Tree of Might, but that does explain why I was able to unlock Warp Kamehameha and Super Galick Gun on my first try!

It's funny really. When you're lucky he says he sees a fruit on a tree. When you're extremely lucky he says he sees a golden fruit. If you didn't know, Kai's come from a tree as fruit. Supreme Kai's come from the same tree, but their fruit is golden. (Also it's extremely rare for a golden fruit to appear)

That's what happened to me I found Elder Kai yesterday I talked to him and I did the second Golden Frieza PQ and I got an ultimate finish and unlocked Emperor's Death Beam!

I am amazed lol not only that they done the skill drop option but that there are still people who need skills from the main quests and 2 dlc before. I got plat twice. I done it on me main account and got Z rank on all pq and masters. Started to help boost some friends but got bored on it. I have almost 30 000 000 zenni with nothing left to buy. So i went on another account and reached plat in just 13 days. Trust me you dont need elder kai just fucking patience lol

I'm not sure but i think it works for Dragonballs as well because everytime he said i was gonna be lucky i got the time Patroller to show up and he dropped a dragonball. But i can't confirm it but i'm pretty sure.

Ok, I did this so many times already, I talked to him before doing any PQ's, at least 8 times he told my fortune, and that i was going to get lucky... NOTHING dropped, finished the Golden Frieza mission so many times, NOTHING dropped, this pisses me off so much..

Damian Mccarthy The best I've heard so far and has been working for me is Parallel Quest 52 Great Ape Festival. Not only does it give up to 83k exp but, you can also have a chance to get a dragonball upon meeting the bonus conditions and use a wish to level up but, make sure to finish up a level up then make the wish. I hope this helps! :D

Hey Rhymestyle, have you ever faced the issue of playing online and then for whatever reason been disconnected from online play and having lost access to all add-on content? And then when you get back online and you find out you have access again but you have reequip all the add-on moves or items you may of had on a character? I find it pretty annoying when it does that, especially when I can't remember what Z-soul I had on my 4th or so character. It also takes away your mentor if they were dlc as well. I had Elder Kai and now I have to find him again. I'm sure this is something to prevent copying content or some bullshit but couldn't they make it less ridiculous?

Holy Hell, Emperor's Death Beam is so insanely broken in the hands of a Super Saiyan. Just keep spamming it and nobody can get close to you, plus it tracks the target, and it does ridiculous damage to boot.

gamester512 But when you use it, it drains your ki bar to nothing so as soon as a ssj does it they will come instantly out of ssj. I use it for my ki base charater and it drains my ki everytime

But super and ultimate moves don't drain your ki while in ssj or potential unleashed(which you CAN get from elder ki 😎)

Nvm potential unleashed for CaC doesn't work like super saiyan. You don't have infinite ki.

zeekrc1 Nope, Super Saiyans don't use up Ki when they use Supers or Ultimates, same goes for Emperor's Death Beam. And it isn't just endless when you use Emperor's Death Beam, so once the animation ends you can use Maximum Charge to regain lost Ki from the transformation. Pretty much the only thing you can do against a Super Saiyan with Emperor's Death Beam is to literally go hide behind a wall or something. :P

To get this you still have to buy DLC pack 3 and be blessed by the RNG gods for him to show up. It's very rare for him to show :/

You can not buy the DLC and spend days farming moves and abilities or you can get them all instantly after buying DLC pack 3? Does that not just seem really corrupt? Hey rhymestyle, do you know why some ps3 users, like myself, can't download dlc pack 3?? I've been waiting since yesterday to get it and it won't let me download it from the psn. It just says purchased and when I try to hit download it just loads for like 2 seconds then nothing happens. It won't download period. It's frustrating, I'm dying to play these new p quest and use the new characters...can you shed some light if possible? Thanks :)

No wonder I can't grind for Dragonballs... -_- it's an amazing perk because I noticed how easy it was to finally get super dragon fist but damn he is a horrible mentor if you're trying to collect all 7 Dragonballs. Anyways guys, if you're trying to do what I do being at level 88 and leveling up takes longer so you'd rather wish for higher levels, as long as you don't have Elder Kai as a mentor, you can keep doing "Great Ape Festival" parallel quest, keep getting a time patroller at the end you will get a Dragonball at least every 1-4 times of playing it.

I never really had a hard time unlocking items and moves..the only one i had real trouble with is unlocking x100 big bang kamehameha but thats only becus it was a challenge to do the first hidden win condition (finish first part in less than 10 min) i had to unlock it online...first time i did ultimate finish online i unlocked the move

Fuc Xenoverse and its DLC. I hate the time limit, the health bars, the RNG, and the lack of so many other minute additions that would have made the game better (i.e. lack of the ability to fight among your own custom characters and such)

CJAdams97 I know how you feel. Like why the fuck is everything in Xenoverse have to be RNG?! Dragon Balls, Items, Skills, Z-Souls, and EVEN Ultimate Events! Getting Super Electric Strike was a pain in the fucking ass because the Ultimate Event never appears!

Downfall to this is you need dlc 3 which cost money. Suck for people that don't have the money to buy it. I never found the grinding to unlock all supers and ultimates hard to get i have my platinum trophy already

Having to fork over 12 more dollars to improve the chance on getting an item/skill. Is this a free to play MMO? No it isn't so we should get 100% to 50% drop rates for items/skills right off the bat.

Tyler Baker More like no grinding or working at all. Part of what makes the moves fun is the work required to get em. If you can just have em, then it would just feel empty.
