Both games look really interesting. I don't see how a Japanese dub with English text is a bad thing though, I think it adds to the charm of the game and goes well with the anime aesthetic.

Dragonforce. Ahh, good memories. I remember how I bought this gem. Went into a local FuncoLand, and it was in their arcade and started playing it. An hour passed (I didn't even realize). I called over to the sales associate and said "I need this. I'm buying it now"

The most memorable part of Dragon Force was buying it off ebay during the summer of 2000 and playing it for 16 hours straight. I resold it on ebay a couple years later for 150 bucks and can't look at the price now as I am sure it is going for thousands!

Emperor Junon and the land of Tristan are the first nation i played and beat Dragon Force 1 with and I adored the gameplay.

I almost never replay RPGs, but Dragon Force was so fun I ended up beating it with every character. Twice.

I loved that game back in the days. For some reason I chose Gongos on my first playthrough, who is kind of the comic relief of the game. Discovering the story through his eyes was an experience i haven't relived since.

This is my favorite game of all time, and it's the reason why I have a huge Saturn collection, including 2 copies of this game, to this day.

Best series of all time. Definitely a system seller. Unfortunately Sega was more interested in marketing garbage games back then, than the system sellers they actually had.

I’m finally picking at DF1 and it’s extremely cool. I’m having a ton of fun. Still a little confused about some things here and there, but I’ve got about 60 generals or so, and it’s so fun.

I’ve only played the first one and it’s a really fun game, but be warned it has issues... 1. It’s very easy. I think I saw 1 game over, and that was on the final bosses 2. Most of the strategy options are useless as just standing still and letting them come to you provides such a huge defensive bonus 3. The search castle feature is pretty tedious 4. After the halfway point where you are steamrolling every enemy it does start to get a bit repetitive Overall though very unique and definitely worth a try if you’re into strategy rpgs

That map of the first Dragonforce looks like it's kinda similar to Brigandine for some reason.

"Snow Land Battle". There are two versions of the track: in-game and the soundtrack/SEGA AGES, this one is the former.

@@RalliArtEvo A great OST indeed! Junon's Theme, Battle for the Castle, Dessert Battle, Wein's Theme, World of the Sleeping Dragon, To Die, Apostle of the Wicked God, the Dragon Force main theme... there's so much goodness in the music from this game. I only wish there where more tracks!

This game is literally Brigandine+Total War (or similar wargame)! P.S. I have to add that english subs with japanese dub is the best experience to play japanese games cuz english dub is ugly and out of the place nearly most of the time.
