I remember other drummers always talking about building some sort of heel board to help support the ankle while using their toes. Never materialized. Seems like they were just talking about wearing heels.

I LOVE AMI KIM!!! One of my favorite drummers, purple shoes and all!! But I got to give this song to "JUNNA"!! Through The Fire And Flames by Dragon Force!! Almost wish I hadn't come across this!! Yes, went into my keeper folder!! But I can at least enjoy both!! I'm not really into comparing, because I don't want to change my mind about how I feel!! Damn glad this isn't a pick-only one situation because I'll take both!!

I used to work with musicians for sound and lighting. One of the bands I worked with was Barefoot. Their schtick was being barefoot. After 3 years drumming without shoes, their drummer was ruined for drumming while wearing shoes. I'm guessing she's done the opposite. She wears heels so much while drumming it would throw her off to wear flats. Granted, I think she would probably get over it pretty quickly. She's more skilled with drumming than most anyone I've ever seen. There's also a possibility that heels make it easier, though I doubt it. She should subject herself to rigorous scientific testing to find out.
