Hopefully a free content update a bit before the DLC drops, could easily be the Ur-dragon of DD2

Who is that dragon? Is that supposed to be the seneschal dragon form?

I just finished the game and yeah 😭 they put the effort of saving your partner and having a personal pawn, but you don’t even have a cinematic with them…

@@CafLichy The castle politics was hyped up for a bit and just farted into nothingness. It pretty much went from, ahh what a plot behind the whole thing, to poof let’s save them.

I think a lot of the people complaining forget that the meat of this game story like in the first dragon's dogma is in the side content. I'm honestly surprised you can still get the true ending without doing most of the side constant. I still would have preferred a longer third act and a everfall or bitter Black Island equivalent, but I imagine those are coming in a future updates or an expansion. I still do like the overarching story and the twists on the lore of the first game (although these are separate timelines) with the seneschal in this game being an even more hands-on architect of the cycle as the watcher. And the nods to the first game are great too, the fact that the underwater city is Grand Soren was mind blowing when I relized. if you look at the layout it matches, even if the scale is a bit off.

What do you mean i spent a lot of time on side quests and still got the same endings

@@MarioCorleone if you got the same thing, you didn't do all the sidequests, as there are actual epilogue slides, like the one with Wilhelmina. If you didn't, you just get scenery, like what's mostly seen here

@@MarioCorleone I have not done every side quest, but I got some different endings for most regions. Melve, Vermund, and that elf region only sadly. I didn't know following Phaesus to the tower would lock me out for some quests.

Gregori from DD1 remains peak, this version of the dragon really left a lot to desire

I liked this dragon. He genuinly seemed just tired. In the end when he's falling apart and the last thing he tells you is "perhaps thy will is great enough to put and end to it..." and just slumps down... I kinda felt that.

Yup i just got this ended.. but I actually had to kill the dragon twice because when he put me on the dragons back i got up to take a leak and when i got back i used godsbane and it just killed me to load last save lol have to do it on his back.. when he says to late that's what he means

@@lovefromaliciaDo you think that in this alternate timeline to Dragon's Dogma 1, our Arisen failed in their task to slay the dragon, and so The Mad Duke in DD1 succeeded in raising an army to defeat the dragon, took the throne of Senschal, but abandoned his duty, to rule Gransys and the fears that Julian had about Gransys taking the ascent became real and so the Mad Duke became King and founded a new Kingdom called Vermund, but because he abandoned his duty the Watcher cursed him and his people to become Beastren? @@FlySpleen Thank you, another theory that I have from dragon's dogma 1 is that you never broke the cycle when you killed yourself at the end because the pawns purpose is to be a failsafe and which is why they become you at the end. The pawn who is now "you" becomes the new Arisen and takes the throne of Senschal. Which is confirmed in New Game plus if you play offline, and you end up fighting yourself from the previous playthrough. This is hinted at when you meet the dragonforged and his pawn as well as if you did the witch in the woods questlines and you see the Ghost Witch tells you that over time all pawns become their masters and inherit their will and spark of life.

I'm so glad I wasn't the only one that noticed!

Sadly none, game has much less monsters than DD:DA.

⁠@@Michchall Much more monsters than DD base however, and those same monsters from are way more dynamic and interactive. If this game does get the Dark Arisen treatment (I’m confident it will) then there would be even more enemies in this game and likely the inclusion of the old missing monsters as well.

@@Michchall Talos and Sphinx is new too and the undead headless warriors, + the post game dragons. A couple others I’ve probable forgotten as well. I mean they don’t need to create totally different new monsters as they are integral to the world. + they are tied to classic fantasy / mythology, so don’t expect crazy new monsters like other fantasy games.

That is how you do it, he just added the cutscene of the pawn going into Talos.

I did 4 of those Red beams and evacuated Bakbatahl, the elf town, Vernworth, Restown and the Slave Pawns. And got the same End. I think aslong as you use the Blade with the Dragon and suceed ro survive until the Last dragons comes you will get that Ending. Its honestly sad how lacking the Story is. Even for Capcom standards. And their is just not enough to Do in the Game. NG+ doesn't bring new stuff to the table as well which sucks even more

when you talk to the blue ghost and he sends you back to dragon's back you have to use godsbane blade near the dragons heart when you'r flying on his back

Well, it would be a great idea, but impossible, since original and sequel have different engines.

And they are also different realities with different rules. DD1 explained that there are all kinds of different worlds and realities and it seems all media is cannon. DD1, Netflix DD and DD2

@@wyvernslayer4530 Just because there is a Gran Soren doesn't mean it's the same. Because the Gran Soren in this world has a different lore and history. Plus this game has endless worlds and endless possibilities, think about it. If you have the True ending does that mean all pawns die? No they don't, because there are endless other worlds where the ending is different.

She totally disappears from the game for me after completing her quest… I’ve spent a day looking everywhere to no avail.😔

the watcher takes the place of Seneschal in this game, but essentially serves the same purpose/twist whoever put this video together left out more than half of how you actually get to the true ending, which i guess i can appreciate for those who never touched the first one but no, it’s a very similar twist ending, not a generic one

@@celfhelp Yeah but the twist wasnt that there is a Seneschal. The twist was "who" the Seneschal is. Pretty much the twist after the twist.

"fight the dragon" isn't generic it's cool, but fighting god afterwards is just the natural progression lol. I'm more bummed that they talked about a concept of going to the moon and having a big dungeon there but couldn't do it because of budget limitations, DD1 didn't have a moon, but they didn't do it in this one either despite everyone saying "yeah that would be sick do that please".

You can just rest for 7 days and the world will automatically come to an end and go back to normal

Whoever you have max affinity with and have most recently interacted with prior to meeting the dragon will end up becoming your "beloved", this was in the first game too.

I know, plus I couldn't help but notice that the sunken city has a throne room that looks alot like the Gran Soren throne room and the general layout is similiar which helped me navigate the area

What happened to my pawn, though it led to that beautiful scene of sacrifice, will forever haunt me. He was clearly suffering and it hurt to see him that way after growing attached to him over 50+ hours.

@@SketchySkullKnight but I think you can find her after this? In a lab? I saw it in another video, maybe I'm wrong but this way you gave her free will? In DDDA you could gave your pawn a real life sacrificing yourself I don't know if this is similar!

I'm referring to the very end or the game and video in which your pawn turns into a drake and becomes aggressive, but with the new will you have imbued him with he resists and helps you slay the dragon/pathfinder and finally free the world from the dogma. It hurt to see that happen to him, and it left me with a lot of questions. Namely, what happened to my arisen and his pawn after this? Did we cease to exist as a consequence of breaking the dragon's dogma?

​@brokesoul89 Unfortunately I agree, some crucial parts of the story are left up in the air. Hopefully as time goes on and more people finish the game a dlc or online discussion(s) will reveal the truth. I for one can't wait!

It's weird I had the True ending things simillar but not entirely. I had way more red crystals to destroy... I didn't resurrect Talos... I basicly transported into true ending by confronting the ghost watcher before sitting on the throne and he gave me the option to change endings... Basicly I talked to a friend comparred things, you have to avoid losing important story NPC's they have to survive. I hope it helps :)

Good: the most straightforward. Defeat the dragon and claim the throne. Bad: sacrifice your beloved and rule the lands. True: use Godsbane blade during your flight on the dragons back and break the eternal cycle. Also unlocks post game.

The true ending is the decision made by your character to break away from the shackles of this Being and create a World where humans can create their own destiny. That's the short explanation.

Was there really a proper boss for DD1 either? I don’t think so. The dragon is considered the final battle and the post-game offers harder fights for the combat aspect but the ending is meant to provide closure to the story not more fighting. Dark Arisen DLC purpose was to add more of a complete final boss experience and delve deeper into the endgame content since the ever-fall was received kinda poorly , which I’m fairly sure DD2 will provide with their likely dlc. The game director has been hush hush on his plans with endgame and when referring to bitter black isle so that says something, but he has spoken out on how the engagement in combat is always been given a focus to provide a better experience for the harder battles too since the first game was just a bit more spammy and op one skill. Making a better proper boss than what daimon was for DDA would be much easier in DD2 since the foundation is so much stronger. I personally enjoyed the post-game dragon fights a bunch aside from how visually cool they were, so if that’s an indicator what to expect I don’t think you will be disappointed.

No Seneschal is lame imo. Would’ve been cool to kill your old player character again after playing in NG+.

Can you elaborate? I didn't mind this ending that much aside from the fact that much was left unexplained and I had to see my pawn suffer and turn into a dragon's plague victim before sacrificing himself.

@@SketchySkullKnight it mostly comes down to the fact the differences between the endings are minimal at best, good ending has you rule in some sort of illusion (at least that's how i perceived it), in the bad ending it's not even fully clear what exactly took place, and in the true ending you basically kill of half of the living population and despite the mid ending having all those differences the post ending is basically the same for all of them. overall it is just my own opinion and how I personally perceived these endings, in much the same way as mass effect 3 where the journey to get there was awesome but the moment you got to the end all you got is a steaming pile of feces.

The story includes all the side quests. Took me 87 hours to finish the game and there's still a lot I didn't do. If you bum rush the main missions it's gonna suck

theres allot more to the story than just reaching the end dragon ..sux to be you if ur in too much of a hurry or lazy

Sadly it's only useful for doing things you missed on your first run really, as there's no new content or ending in it and the difficulty is unchanged, leaving you feeling vastly overpowered before you even keep leveling beyond the 40-50 range most are finishing at.

Nobody is whining about lack of NG+ though? It's also piss easy because the difficulty doesn't change at all.
