I've founds dozens of these doors, some in the overworld and some at the end of already existing dungeons. Looking behind them with freecam, they all have unique unfinished room geometry behind them. Some look like large caverns, others seem like structured rooms with branching hallways, spiraling stairs and large columns. I really hope these get expanded upon, because this game really needs some big challenge dungeons for people with endgame gear.

I think it's pretty obvious that the "launch" location for whatever expansion is next is at harve village, it isnt a coincidence that they put a port crystal literally at the dock

I think it was put there because thats where the entrance to the submarine shrine is and you have to go there multiple times for every harve village related quests,i highly doubt the docks have any meaning other than being linked to the crazy guy who keeps sailing it to reach the "other world",also,unmoored world completely removing all sea,how are you going to set sail if theres no water and you can just walk?

@@oneSayan the crazy guy is a previous Arisen, who found his way to the unmoored world but was defeated and couldn't end the cycle. That's why he knows about Gran Soren being in the sea. I'd say that's also why he has a portcrystal there, he was once a capable warrior after all.

Moreover Capcom is happy to have made 2.5M in sales, for a Triple A it's ridiculous because you need mathematically between 3 and 5M sales to make it profitable and between 7-8M for it to be a success for the company editor. So if 2.5M is a success for them + the small team size it's because Capcom had little budget in it

Yeah, way too many corners. The plot is a nonsense because the 2nd half seems to have been cut out, so all the plot about being a false arisen doesn't go anywhere making the early quests having to do with that seem utterly pointless. Also Battahl small, like they realised they were running out of time or budget. 'Dungeons' are often just a single room. The original didn't have many 'dungeons' bu at least it had Soulflayer Canyon and the Watergod's Altar. Considering the cult following the original has, to do the sequel dirty in the exact same way is shameful.

When i was doing first 3 Brant quests, i once heard from npcs guarding Vermund capital gates lines about queen sending them on expeditions to search for some weird sealed gates. Those collapsed gates were the first thing that came to my mind. Also someone should finally map those gates, in Battahl i remember that there was one in a Sal Battahl cave near the road to Dragonroost tower (not the medusa one), one under a cliff in south west part in central Battahl and another one in Sandsear cave on the eastern edge of Battahl Forest.

Figured I'd throw my two cents in here for this one. As a lot of people have already pointed out, there are a *lot* of these doorways throughout the game. All of them blocked off. Now not to let the speculation train run off the rails, but the small "leak" we did get recently about DLC said that it would only open up after finishing the main story. Which I think is becoming more and more believable as we find more of these doors. Furthermore I'm finding almost no one talking about a single piece of dialogue that pawns have after starting a NG+. "Arisen! I knew you loved this world to much to leave it behind!" I have been looking for anyone else talking about this one line, which to some might seem throw away but suggests that the pawns remember the ending of the Unmoored World. Something is suppose to happen and carry on the game and NG+ I don't think is it. There's a missing piece of the puzzle. (Edited to fix the quote)

You can also find one in Unmoored world with some flowers (Moonglow?) or something glowing clearly leading a path. I can't exactly remember where but I think it was near Seafloor Shirne or within it's vicinity.

It was glimmercoal, to S-W from Seafloor shrine. My theory is that dlc/cut content may have something with dwarves. The inner spiral of buried doors is green, glimmercoal is green and is required in dwarven smithing. And all these doors lead deeper underground.

Something that made me curious, was how the Sphinx had parents, who resemble humanoid pawns? So her being tied in with a rift quest line would make sense, maybe as an exploration in a DLC.

One theory (/hope) I have is that these doors are meant for an underground Dwarven region for the DLC. Picture this; all these doors/entrances throughout the world link together through a massive underground area/dungeon. More than a cut-off island, having a region beneath Vermont and Bhattal that allows for passage between existing dungeons/areas would be awesome DLC material, and enhance the exploration for the base-game by a lot. Functionally, it can still act as mid-to-endgame dungeon to fight through for a side-challenge like Bitterblack Isles was, but with less of a 'go to the DLC area' feel to it that many games have. I see some people disappointed that these doors didn't open up during their playthrough, but the fact that they're there in the base-game at all shows a lot of signs that the developers plan to implement the DLC more seamlessly than other games.

The "Western Ruins" in West Battahl was the one i found myself and was like "how do i get there", because there is that one statue nearby with message paper about cave, that clearly points to that entrance (or the waterfall next to it), as imo it is not pointing towards the one cave nearby if you look right in the direction of the statue front. There are so many potential places fow extra content/dlc for future. Im fairly sure they already have some content done (or cut from main game) that they could release as dlc, or just as updates.

I think it's pretty much a given that they will open these caves up either in an update or a DLC. I just found one such collapsed doorway in a cave last night where you have to go down a ladder and there's only that collapsed doorway without anything else there.

I've found a few of these doors in my playthrough. The site I used to search for seekers tokens has a big map of the overworld and all the caves/underground sections. One part looked like a labyrinth.

I also saw those doors, and my initial though was about being passage ways for dwarven underground cities... but now that I think of it... I dont know because of the symbol on the door... But I still believe Capcom could come up with a Dwarves dlc centered... opening the map above and under ground. After all, they are in the game, at least two of them and we even have the dwarven upgrades but no cities around for them... may be they could release a dlc, explaining their absence, because the dragon on its wake cshaked the earth and cause their entrances to be blocked off to the rest of the world... anyway lol, I want to know more about dwarves!

I believe there is one of these doors in 'Darkhorde Cave' as well, there are some Saurians and the Myfyr bow and a seeker token can be found outside, it is South and slightly West of Sacred Arbor.

Maybe you go through the caves and they all interconnect and lead to the snowy area or maybe a dwarf village. Question is, how the heck do we get to that island, through the caves? I don’t think that island will be inhabited maybe more of a bbi situation where it’s just overrun with new monsters. Don’t really see why the dwarfs would live so far away from the mainland on that island because most of them are blacksmiths or armorers’. Island could actually end up being the snowy area, but who the heck would want to live there? Maybe a new a race we haven’t seen yet? Very interesting stuff, great video rift

You get to the island with the crazy fisher guy living in Harve. They say he sails out every other day or something and the Brine takes him back. He was also shown at the ending cutscene or the credits or something as a hint.

Something i noticed is that the closed cave at battahl is mentionedat by an statue outside in the vicinity,its literally pointing at it,what confuses me is the location of all of these,some make sense but others not so much,i found one inside the drabnir's grotto (atleast thats where i recall coming across one,since it was the first time i installed free cam just to satisfy my curiosity) and ive also found another 2 on vermund and i think some of the statues might be pointing at them rather than whats on the surface or obvious things like settlements.

The fact that several caves have these blocked doors means there's probably some connection, especially if several show some kind of room or structure beyond them. It would certainly be an interesting DLC if it has you returning to many of the caves to seek out the doors, and maybe even finding new passages lead to new locations, either ones we couldn't reach because of invisible barriers or just expanding existing ones into mini dungeons.

Others have mentioned, but there are far more of these doors scattered throughout the game. There's one at the bottom of a shaft with a slime waiting to ambush you, and there is at least one (though Ive heard mention of three) that are revealed only in the Unmoored World.

What about the big mountain between Melve and Vernworth? Kind of weird to have such a huge area inaccessible, all the other mountain in Vermond at least have some caves in it, you can actually go to the top of many of them too. Maybe a dungeon content update can be placed there? I know I'm coping.

Near ancient battle ground there is a small ballista on the path to Border to Bathal Town. I can hear small spiders moving down under the huge boulders, and my Pawn once said that we cant clear that kind of rubble + my daggers blink there, indicating that there must be a chest.

@Edem412 yes. 3 cube-like mini-boulders you can pick up and carry. You'll trigger a cutscene for each, but it's the 3rd throw that actually breaks through the rubble. There's quite a few of these breakable rubble piles across the entire map.

I literally marked them on a map I printed out because I thought they would open up at some point. I don’t wiki or google anything. By sheer curiosity and being a completionist, I managed to get unmoored world ending. Was very disappointed these didn’t open. I’m level 105 right now and am still enjoying the game so I will definitely be looking forward to more content. Hopefully they make it challenging. Going to solo NG+ with no wayfarer setup. That should be fun.

I've found 8 of those blocked caves, 2 of them are only accessible during the unmoored world (made a correction to the number, i double counted one) The 2 you've shown one in the Timeworn shaft (NE of Vernworth) one to the NE of Gran Soren (unmoored world) one to the West of Gran Soren (Unmoored world, East of olta' Battahl Coastline) one North of the Riftstone of Robustness (West of the Battahl Ropeway Central Station) the others are in caves I stupidly forgot to take a map shot of so I don't know where they actually are. for the ones in the unmoored world, look for the glowing green crystals.

You can find a big cave - catacombs at north ov Vermund. You will find a chimera and an undead mage mini boss. You will be find a big craved door and it seems there will be another dungeon. I love the mysteries in this game! I am still playing my first game (45+ hours and started the quests at Bathall now) but I can't wait for the new contents :))

It's the always the same door and exact same rockpile. I've noticed that green means inert and blue means you can use it. All of these are green so definitely not usable. Locationwise the only theory that makes any sense beyond them just being props is a MASSIVE underground dungeon zone dlc that connects the entire world. There are a lot of these in places ranging from nubs to end of dungeon rooms. There is no consistency on difficulty, depth, direction, or region. They exist in already hidden caves and easily accessible early zone caves.

I had to of found a dozen of those collapsed doors in my playthrough. They were all over the place. I'm pretty sure there just there for lore and decoration, and are not cut content or directly tied to the dlc themselves. But that's not to say the dlc WON'T also have similar doorways. I think they're important, and whatever we learn in the dlc will make us go, "oh shit! So all those collapsed spots were related to THIS?!"

Has anyone found anything about why pawns react to broken oxcarts and why it shows and exclamation icon on the minimap? I thought it was a side quest I couldn't find on my 1st playthrough but I'm on my 3rd and still nothing... So yeah this game is also incomplete, like the original. I think Capcom wanted to release asap to meet the end of the financial year because no way this is Itsuno's vision realized. Battahl has much less quests compared to Vermund and Volcanic Island is mostly empty space. They might've planned to release title updates same as MH but I don't think the game sold as much as Capcom wanted (the mtx scandal didn't help but it was their doing) and everything is probably being moved to a big expansion/dlc

The exclamation marks demarcate whatever the pawn is referring to in their dialogue. Usually it ends up being ladders 😅 sometimes it's treasure or materials or oxcarts etc

I dont think this game was actually 4x bigger than DD1 . Only 30 % of the map in DD2 is actually playable area. There are MASSIVE spaces on the map that aren’t even playable

Dont you keep the godsway into NG+? what if they remove the rubble for those in NG+ to expand the world and give those already in NG+ more to do

These would have been such cool things to come across in NG+ or if they were part of the story, rather than the 1 rift door we get as a shortcut to the long corridor masquerading as a 3rd zone.

A more boring possibility for this is that they could just be placeholder assets the devs forgot to remove by the full release, it's not very uncommon. Can't wait to see if more is discovered though and I'm absolutely stoked for the DLC.

Are you working in a lore video? I am curious to know why the world is so different and why is the founder of vermond in a throne similar to the seneschal and what is that ghost figure leading us to the dragon, I don’t think I have interpreted the game on the right way, doesn’t even feel like a “real world”

Mostly i hope they add a hard mode or some sort of better scaling for the DLC. I wasnt bee-lining through the story but explored a lot and enjoyed the game... i was at level 70 by the end of the game, so overpowered that it wasnt even funny. I like the feel of traveling in this game, so much so that i rarely used an oxcart or ferrystone, but it looses its charm when there is no danger on the road anymore.

I honestly felt the caster classes got a lot overall so they could add the spells and suchs back in an DLC feels like they on purpose removed thing to sell back to us in a dlc now...

I hope this will be post ending, I was really disappointed that the last thing you did was just climb up a dragon,even the fight with the dragon was underwhelming,they even took out the part where the pawns rifts in behind you. I hope this dlc will bring back Daimon and the Senechal, and make the Senechal fight amazing and not just a pushover like in the last game,would be awesome if the Senechal's vocation and looks will be based on your previous Arisens

there are many more of these doors in a multitude of caves across the game world way to many to be placed randomly.
