Why isn't Dragon's Dogma 2 called... Dragon's Dogma 2? The missing "two" on the title screen is just the first of many ways that Capcom's fantasy RPG is girlbossing, gaslighting and gatekeeping you from the truth. What looks like a generic, Ren Faire-esque roleplaying game is much trickier underneath the surface.

I think he's saying it's not that they know they're in a game, they just recognize that you, as the arisen, essentially reset the cycle and created a new iteration of the same world. It's a nod from the pawn that they remember your adventure with them, and a nod from the developers that you're enjoying the game enough to play ng+. Kinda makes you wonder if you just screwed up the whole point of the game lowkey lol. Though the "nice try though" thing seemed a little... uncalled for on his part though?

It's actually not missing, you get the real Dragon's Dogma 2 title card scene when you reach the true ending which brings you into the special endgame mode, though for anyone playing the game completely spoiler free it's quite likely they would never even find that ending.

yeah, there was an actual letter for the “th” sound that looked similar to a “Y” with some lines through it… forgot it’s name, but when the printing press was invented, because that letter was so similar to, they just used a Y in its place. …or so the tale goes. i’ve not actually looked into this for years now. memory can play tricks on you with something you learned in school 20 years ago

The map is actually a world or new cycle built upon the destroyed world from the first game Gransys, you will later realise there are places familiar from the first game

Yeah, this DD1 with necessary filler appropriated from DD online.. But the price are rather steep.. MK is gone, MA got nerfed not only got dual daggers taken, but also delegated mostly in ranged attack and support, stryder is gone.. And along came the trickster.. It might be better should Capcom simply adopted Alchemist from DDO to fit in DD2..

It's basically Dragon's Dogma - the ultimate edition. I think the devs even alluded to that - this being the fully realized version of the game. That said it is cool to think of how 4th wall breaking it is as well ..

It's not obvious to most who haven't played the first game, but I'm not going to spoil that for you guys Finding out what the Dragon wants you to do and the metaphysical implications of that action are too important to spoil No matter if you have to repeat that part 5 times, don't look it up The realization and subsequent changes to the world are amazing

The end of the game is just the beginning of the game. This is intentional. It is afterall just a repeat of Dragon's Dogma 1 and this is told so many times during the story. "The will of the world repeats itself yada yada. UNTIL You do a certain thing after killing the dragon. Than you can choose something that will lead to the "Dragon's Dogma 2" Title screen,

Very true, I like that they added the feature of the title screen Dragon Dogma 2 at the end of the game. I kinda felt like it was a sequel inside of a sequel which sounds crazy

As a veteran I can’t entire love DD2 since the potential is so painful to see. I still adore the series & both games are beautiful but unless they just held content to wait for DLC the game is an 8/10 for now

Gameplay itself is mid and the classes themselves aren't fantastic, the AI can be pretty broken, and it's pretty repetitive... but the story is interesting and there's some cute waifu bait characters.

I have mixed bag feelings. Some aspects I had fun but it felt like more a chore than adventure. Like I loose interest and get drained trying to hike cross country. I would pass off the controller to my son and just tag in. Like at first I was oh cool then it became walk fight same enemies, run fight same enemies. I did have a strong connection to my character with being able to really make him and my main pawn my own. All in all for me a decent game but would i run it back for another play through “no”. Oh and the Sphinx was so cool and creepy, oddly attractive 😂 or im just crazy.

i finished it in 73 game days on my 2nd run. 2 RL days roughly for time spent in it. first was 173 days..basically the weekend plus 1 weekday on how much i played on first playthrough....going on my 3rd now because i know there is more to discover

Spoiler here, read at your own risk. Dragons Dogma has always played with the fact that there are different universes where the cycle continues to happen, but with minimal variations that cause great impact, such as Dark Arisen and Dragons Dogma Online. Dragons Dogma 2 is another universe from Dragons Dogma 1, but it is extremely similar as we even found a "Gran Soren" submerged in the ruins of a long-forgotten civilization. And we don't need to go far, if you've played the first one a lot or recently, it's easy to notice that the structure of the story is the same, with practically the same events happening in order, showing even more the similarity of this cycle with that of the universe of first game. The title of the game changes when making the game's true ending when we discover that in this universe we are able to eliminate God from the equation and bring to light what differentiates this universe from others, a cycle not controlled by a greater entity.

@@libralovecraft Still remember when I was playing through the post game, I died to the final enemy, *chose* not to use a Wakestone, and then proceeded to witness a screen that basically told me, "Oh, you died? Guess it's time to go back to the beginning! Of the boss? No, no, I mean the beginning of the post game silly!" Needless to say, don't hit 'no' when the game asks you if you want to revive lmao

I'm going to say this game is not a true sequel and it takes place in a different universe, where the events of the first game didn't happen. I do not have this game, so it's only a guess, but I am playing the first game, and I watched the video, so it's a reasonable guess.

PSEUDO SPOILER: - - --- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -- - dragon's dogma is an eternal loop with a dragon, a arisen and a monarch that will lose their power just like in the first game. This cycle always repeat (duh) just like the first game, but now there's a way to break this cycle and only then the new title card with the iconic dragon and the 2 appear. if you play this game like the first one and follow "your destiny" it remains just another dragon's dogma. Only when you break the cycle that the true DD2 begins.

So the fact that there's less enemy types in the game then first one was intentional? The fact that they introduce the queen in the story at the start and she does not have any significance and play no part what so ever to the story or plot was intentional? Hiking up the prices in this game from the first one so damn high it makes you thinks the queen married Joe Biden and that it's build back better dragon's dogma edition was intentional? This game could've been so much better but it just makes me miss the first one.
