More than a few times I’ve gone through the sewer sections of BBI, rushed ahead because I know the place like the back of my hand. My pawns fall behind but that’s fine, I know they’ll catch up. And then it happens. I enter the next area and only my main pawn has followed me through. How odd. I go back to look for the other two and find nothing but the Reaper, the light of his lantern the only warning I’m going to get, and all the confirmation I need to know what happened to my two other pawns. I nope out of there to go and find another Rift stone. Again. God I love this game.

Death: one touch...one kill Blast arrow: pew pew pew 99999 x2 XP

One of the best moments is when for some reason my lantern glitched out (no Drenched status or anything, it just didn't work until I ported) and I was solo running Daimon. I somehow had no RC left to light the blue lamps from my last round of identifying items and was pretty much wandering in the dark to try and find the way out. Of course in that moment Death appeared and it was one eerie sight to see his lantern stalking after you with the occasional silhouette of his figure hovering above while you're trying to find the way out and avoiding the other enemies in the process.

I love playing cat and mouse with Death, I used to be absolutely scared of him until I found out he was allergic to blast arrows. Death happens to be my favourite character in the game, next to Grigori and the Ur Dragon, he has an epic design and a sad but interesting back story. I'm impressed how long he lasted on the Bitterblack Isles before losing it, the man possessed an incredible will. I like his little challenges too, at least he gives you things to make your journey easier, and a free boots of shadow if you can defeat him. In his notes he seems a chatty sort, I find it entertaining the thought of him writing a note as Death and posting it on a notice board, I guess Barroch and Orla would bolt for it as soon as they heard him teleport. I theorise that Arthacos used to be a Ranger because of the Reaper's arrow skill and the fact that he gives you the boots of shadow, with his fallback being Sorcerer due to his Scythe casting a form of Exequy. Could have been an Assassin too. I could be wrong, although vocation is really just a mechanic of the game, he could be anything he liked X'D. I may be biased because I typically play as a Ranger it being my favourite class, I like to keep my distance from foes and plus I can equip my favourite boom sticks. Tip, use a dragon forged rusty bow to debilitate Garm, Elder Ogres and lesser Wyrmkin. Makes it easier to wreck them because they are susceptible to torpor and poison, with the exception being the Cursed dragons, they can't be poisoned but they can be stricken with torpor. Forgive me for rambling on, I love Dragon's Dogma and it's awesome that I found a great channel that talks about this topic. Thank you for the video, I enjoyed it greatly!

There has to be more to this, as I find it hard to fathom that he (Arthacos) simply transformed into the reaper of Death by himself. I believe he had help from a nefarious source.

Aw hell yeah! I went through BBI a couple of weeks ago and read all the epitaphs, but didn't pay much attention to the whole Arthacos going mad thing. Good thing you've just uploaded it Keep up the great content!

All these storylines and lore Netflix could have used for many seasons on their animated adaptation. Instead we got the dumpster fire of "if you kill the Dragon, you become the Dragon." Still, great video man.

another thing to point out: While Death doesn't fully heal whenever he or you leave a fight, making it possible to eventually defeat him, even if/when you manage to kill him he will just reform somewhere else on Bitterblack Isle at full health. some may say "thats just a mechanic so you can farm his dropped materials" but if that were the case then why does Grigori remain deceased when he to has unique dropped material? I think his ability is more a lore-hint. he is fully aware he can never be permanently killed, so even if you succeed in his final request, he will just go back to hunting you again as his soul has long since been tied to the curse that has plagued Bitterblack Isle since it's fall. I should also point out that much like how there are temples to fire, water, air, and earth on mainland Gransys, I have a theory there might be a temple to dark and light on Bitterblack Isle though IDK which chamber would be which temple.

Death's vocals & theme music, sounds so soothing, (especially when Death's vocalism is closely relating to the 'pronounciation of Sumerian') but...play 'BB island' w/ audio @ 0 and backwards, meaning playing all of 3rd stage and not entering 'the cathedral of Daemon' but turning around to play 'BB island in reverse' all the way to the beginning or 1st stage. ... For a real challenge, beat BB island, in reverse, as the Mage.

How cool would it be for Capcom to see how the community for this game is still not dead, and make a whole new dlc?!!! What would you guys want added for this new dlc?! New vocations/ new weapons?!

Oh so that's why the area were you fight Daimon seems other worldy when you look outside. BitterBlack Isle is quite literally a separate reality.

Not gonna lie, I forgot Dragons Dogma was the only game that could compete with darksouls for how deep and convoluted the lore is. It's one of the reasons I love this game and the souls series/elden ring, you might find a character in the game and it turns out they're this son or daughter of the games main villain but you wouldn't notice if you missed even one item description, hidden dialog, or note.

Cool tip I found out is you can get death to kill mini-bosses for u if u can position him just right. I was trying to keep my distance from him one time while being chased by an elder orge when he had cut elder orge instead before leaving. I guess he can kill just about everyone but he prefers to target u instead.

it seems that everyone can become and arisen, but not everyone can fullfil the role, how powerful is the actual arisen to not only defeat daimon and grigori, but to be a perfect candidate for being a seneschal

You are terrible at math. You stated that he has come in contact with a bunch of arisen. Than you state that dragons choose Arisen sometimes hundreds of years apart. So your theory is he's around 1000 years old? Bruh that's only enough time for maybe 3 arisen. You can't forget that some Arisen live for hundreds or thousands of years sitting in a cave with nothing to do. We literally had one just sitting on a chair in a cave for long enough to have met multiple arisen before Mr. King, we have a quest to talk to him. He also vanished when the dragon died. Mr. King is old as well (he was still in mortal time but it is obvious he's close to the end). You can't forget death stated he went around killing all the Arisen for so long he forgot. Death is probably closer to a million years old, if not millions. Great background check, great video editing, great attempt. Please do math before you post something.
