as far as i remember there was also a rule that if a player uses both wizard and thief - he can see what gem he's stealing from another player

bought this game. I like it a lot, but it's hard to tell the gold from the silver pieces if the lighting isn't really, really good.

I used to play this game a decade ago and love it. Just bought a new copy to start playing again. My question is if there are any other super competitive, cutthroat, negotiation style games out there? I would like to have a few games in my collection that play more off people's emotions and personalities than strategy and luck. Thanks.

Your 3rd review of this game and yet no mention ever of the I-Divide-You-Choose option for splitting loot. That seems like a huge miss on your part as a reviewer since I knew my wife would never play this game until Joel Eddy pointed out that rule in his review. Please remember that you're not just reviewing games for people who have your exact same taste in games.

I don't always cover variants in my reviews, my apologies. It's also a variant I've never played with, because it goes against the spirit of the game (in my opinion).

The Dice Tower No problem. I understand that you can't do every variant. It's just that you openly admit this game will annoy some people because of the loot splitting mechanism, so I think it would be wise to mention that the rules included with the game have an option that handles that completely

Bijan Ajamlou The player with the least power divides the loot, then in order of highest power first players get to choose a share. It's in the least powerful player best interest to divide the loot the optimal way, so a fair share will be left for him.

NikkiWolver This means you can't stop the player from getting anything (intentionally, because he's winning). I agree with Tom that this game was made to create confrontation and tension (1 minute to make a deal).

wr00t I think it's too easy to stop a player from getting anything. This all-or-nothing style creates an atmosphere that rewards the most dominant player. I'm glad there is also a rule that rewards smart play and investment.

This is the meanest game I have ever played. This is the most vindictive game I have ever played. This is the most cutthroat game I have ever played. It is also the worst game I have ever played.
