Dragon's Lair Full Playthrough (SNES)

The original Dragon's Lair is one of my favourite game. While I completely dislike the NES version, I admit I have some affection for the SNES version even though it's very flawed and rather frustrating at times.
This is a full playthrough of the game but I didn't do all levels since some are just dead-ends that leads to nowhere on the map. This is also my first legit run through the entire game and to my surprise, it was rather easy and even fun until one level near the end.

I used to find this game terrifying for some reason. Maybe it was a combination of my Dad dying, the depressing music, that black figure at the end of the level shooting lines across the floor, and being only 8

Listening to Dirk's screams in this game, I think they're actually ripped from the arcade version. No idea where they got the monster screams, though, but they could just be edited versions of Dirk's, for all I know.

God the background music between levels when you’re moving from level to level is so relaxing in a hip hop chill vibe sense. I used to just walk back and forth just to keep the music playing.

It's far more playable, and like the uploaded said, it's fun at times. The NES version is a chore to play through at best.

NES Dragons Liar is one of the best/coolest games visually on the system imo. Other than figuring out how to go through the dungeon a certain way on your own, I'd say its rep is undeserving. All of its quirks were pretty common for games then.

When at the bonus stage, run all the way to the left side and blow the uppest box (more to the right). It will give you enough time to blow all the boxes with lives, shields and whatever you want in that screen. You're welcome! ✌🏼

My station has a playthrough for the Might and Magic game you are referring to. No, the same company didn't make the game, and to your comment, don't feel bad, I like some games that aren't the best but are somehow great, also for the SNES. Thanks for the upload anyway. ...You know, watching into it, it's hard to see how this game would not have been as good as the arcade version. This game actually looks a great deal more fun!

Playing this as a kid I always thought it was some super long, super hard game - you’re telling me it’s only 40ish minutes long?? I could only ever beat the first level as a kid lol!

I've only seen pics of this game in the past and stayed away from it because the arcade version was my favorite game at the time. Now after watching this, I wouldn't say this was crappy game, it's just NOT Dragon's Lair.

The Super Nintendo version of Dragon's Lair was planned to be ported to the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive under the title 'Dragon's Lair: The Adventure Continues.' The game was mostly completed but ended up being cancelled.

I have played this about a million times and I still can't work out what half of the enemies are supposed to be 😁 Running broomstick man? Purple jumping mini horse? Jumping kangaroo dragon hybrid with pink shirt? Owl disguising as red grim reaper? And Dirks overworld sprite being a head with feet

For all people who would like to play a non completely crappy Dragon's Lair game, you could try Dragon's Lair 3D: Return to the Lair (released on Xbox, PS2 , PC and Gamecube). Dragon's Lair 3D was the first really 3D game in the series. I never played it myself, but I am sure it is the best game in the series, even when it's not saying a lot considering all Dragon's Lair games are not really good.

You can definitely turn off the fps indicator from your FRAPS. Even with infinite lives, back then games were hard as nails and auto-spawning enemies every few seconds were considered good game design.

This is one of those games that I'm glad I actually managed to beat, back in the day. Not as overly frustrating as some other games out there, but still somewhere between a wreck and a wonder. Still a good 'un, nonetheless.

Partially dark and evil that version, but the most different version of all Dragons Lair games is the (i think 1991) gameboy version; No dragons ! No Princess ! Just 192 Gold Coins you must collect to finish the game and obscure flying creepy things + nearly all is deadly also the music is very creepy ^^
