Yup. In the directors commentary they admitted none of this happened. Bruce Lee injured his back from weight training and not against a secret underground opponent. That being said, this is a FANTASTIC movie and great acting.

But the movie was meant to be a biopic though. You're not supposed to take any liberties that basically go into the realm of fantasy. Like for instance; JSL's mannerisms is movie Bruce Lee. I highly doubt that Bruce behaved like that in real life with regards to martial arts.

Jason made this movie what it was meant to be a tribute to the Little Dragon 🐲. He put the work in to give not only a respectable performance but a unforgettable one. Of all the movies about him since he has passed this is by far the best. Of course it has some exaggerations but the core of the event is there. And to be honest I don't think you could actually do the movie without the exaggerations because he was such a phenomenal fighter with unbelievable speed, precision, skill, courage, and strength with intelligence to match.

A UFC fighter getting in the ring with Bruce Lee would have to have more balls than brains. Bruce Lee said in an interview once “An opponent standing in front of me doesn’t bother me nor do I fear anyone because I am totally self sufficient in my abilities and if I made up my mind.....that’s it, you better kill me or else” basically in short he was so confident in his abilities heigh and weight wouldn’t make a damn bit of difference for him. He moved like a lightweight but pinched like a heavyweight. He could compete in any division. And god knows he had a bad temper which makes it worse!

Sorry no. Bruce would be demolished. As iconic as he is, there are sole truths that, as hard as they are, must be addressed. 1.. Bruce wasn't a great fighter. He wasn't even one of Yip Mans strongest students. Bruce even admits to this in an older interview. He brought something to to America. He had a strong following in China after Big Boss. Please stop placing him in scenarios he would not be prepared for.

@@Clluthu yeah, it's like playing sports, with the physical demands that fighting put on his body he probably suffered from having a lot of injuries throughout his career. I mean Bruce Lee wasn't a big man, he was a small man that put a lot of stress on his small body frame from working out all of the time, and fighting all the time in rehearsals or even exhibition type of fights. But I heard on the end when he was filming ETD that he had lost a lot of weight and was having headaches a lot. In other words health issues while filming the movie, and so his death really shouldn't surprise people. Honestly, I think they overworked the man like the entertainment business can do great and hot stars that are in massive demand. God bless, him, may he RIP.

No that ending was WRONG, that's not how Hollywood approached him. Because that guy said "we can use you for a Green Hornet", which is horribly wrong. When the Hollywood producer spotted Bruce Lee in action they thought they had discovered somebody. So they asked him to do a screen test which is like the "discovery footage" because they thought they had someone very special. After 9 months to a year they realized that they couldn't figure out how to feature a Chinese man, so they almost abandoned Bruce Lee as a project completely. But when the producers tried to expand one of their properties, the Adam West show, they decided to make a Green Hornet show. At that point Bruce Lee already met with producers well over eight or nine months ago and Lee thought that they must've forgotten about him. So the Producers realized that they can use Bruce Lee (who they had on the back burner for almost a year) as their kato. But originally The Producers did NOT seek out Bruce Lee for the Kato role at all. The producers notice Bruce Lee and sought out Bruce Lee for just Bruce Lee PERIOD. Unfortunately they concluded that they cannot go anywhere with him in Hollywood, So eventually they decided to use him as Kato which showed up a whole year later

Paul Polpiboon on top of that he lived in the U.S. through a good chunk of the 60’s which racial tensions were at its highest! So there’s that for you when it came to casting a Chinese guy in an American setting. When guys like Tarantino label him as arrogant it’s because he was good. If you’re the best at something you have every right to be arrogant, because you can back it up with action. Not just run your mouth and then get your ass whooped constantly!

It technically did happen, but it wasn't with a crowd nor was it with a kung-fu man. It did occur from the karate tournament from a karate-man harassing him and it was timed, it only lasted a few seconds according to eye-witnesses.

@@patrickmcpike6680 you need to read what I said and try again. THERE WAS NO CROWD, most people were not there. It was comparable to a car-park fight. So you knowing people at the event is not relevant.

@Teo_live
@Teo_live 3 ай бұрын
@@richnewton7906 A lot of it happened but was majorly exaggerated and/or was a monologue of a similar event in Bruce's life. This fight was a monologue representing the short-timed beating Bruce gave to a harassing Karate man at the tournament, the first "johnny-sun" fight is a monologue to the fight with Wong Jack Man, and the back-injury in the fight with Johnny Sun is a monologue to Bruce's bodybuilding accident. I don't know if the 'little brother' fight on the Big Boss movie set has any truth to it though. The movie took a lot of liberties with the truth, it isn't purely fake but it turned many real-life events into partial fantasy.
