That mentality is something that I feel like we've seen over and over with Alicent and Otto, and one of the reasons why a hefty portion of the audience has such a negative opinion of them. She looks down on Aegon for not being grateful for sacrifices that were made to put him into a position he never wanted, and which was done purely as a means of fulfilling their own ambitions. She had a similar approach to the parade for his son, initially supporting it until balking at Otto telling her she should participate, and then immediately turning back around and using the same reasoning she was upset at being presented with in order to get Helaena to do the same. Aegon has done (or has at least been implied to have done) some terrible things. But much like with the death of his son, in this particular situation he has every reason to be angry and ungrateful, and I can't help but pity him.

Which is why his story is sad. He is the way he is due to a lack of love and parenting.

You can hate Cole for a lot of things but it doesn’t mean the guy isn’t a competent warrior and battle commander, lots of people let their emotions get in the way of appreciating some great character moments

I’ve read the books, in them Aegon is well aware of this plan and he doesn’t charge like a drunk idiot the show portrayed him to be. They fought Meleys together & since this was the first time dragons actually fought among themselves nobody knew what the outcomes would actually be. Leaving the dragons tangled among themselves all 3 of them, on the show you see Aemond attacking his brother along with Meleys but in the books he never did. I’ve read them, what page does it say “Criston Cole came up with this plan” or even hint at it

Cant wait for vhagar to rip out caraxes guts.. Daemon is supposed to be the best dragon rider and have a high battle iq. However Daemon can't think of a plan to kill vhagar without killing himself and caraxes in the process. Daemon wasn't sure he could kill vhagar, even with the trap set. He needed every aspect of the battle to go 100% as planned to even have a chance of killing vhagar. That's pretty lame of Daemon...

Uhm considering the only real conflict the king had under his rule was the crab feeder which was defeated by his brother and a member of his council and was heard he was sending aid. His reign was of peace and prosperity in terms of the realms resources. He was a good king but people claim he wasnt cause he had actual morals like not wanting to marry a toddler and sticking up for his daughter his heir which he had to do cause as he said the results of those accusations were detrimental. And he already could feel Otto and Alicent trying to supplant her. He knew that all the council was bullshit and nothing but people reaching for their own power. To be fair, Vhagar was known to be constantly patrolling King's Landing at this part of the war. Aemond leaving to take part in battle was a complete curveball for everyone.

Deamon did want to jump Vhagar much earlier with the help of Meleys. But if they fly too close then they are in scorpion range.

Vhagar is an OG from the conquest. She was ridden by Visenya sister-queen of Aegon the Conqueror. It is hard to know if there was Dragon V Dragon combat prior to the dance.

Basically all she's done the entire series is make one stupid decision after another because she's reckless, dumb, horny, and thinks her actions don't have consequences. She thinks she's found a way to dig herself out of the hole but she just keeps digging it further. This brain trust is the great white hope of Westeros? Really? Really? And the only reason anything has worked at all is because she had Viserys to make excuses for her in the first place. Oh, and I haven't seen anyone mention that she spent so much time not wanting to be wedded off for political advantage yet she doesn't bat an eye at doing this to her own children or stepchildren to solve problems she created. She doesn't ask them before doing this, nor does she express any remorse. Rhaenyra does what's good for Rhaenyra. Frankly, Vis should have realized a long time ago she isn't suitable for leadership and doesn't want it, made Aegon his heir, and put some work in teaching how to rule instead of letting Alicent do all the parenting.
