ARMED POLICE descend with GUNS DRAWN at Manchester Prison - High security murder suspect escort!

High risk murder suspect Thomas Cashman is escorted from HMP Manchester to Manchester Crown Court for sentencing for the murder of Olivia Pratt Korbel in August 2022. Multiple Armed police units from Greater Manchester Police are seen escorting the convoy to the court. Firearms officers can be seen descending on the prison and blocking off the road with guns drawn prior to Cashman leaving the prison.
Thomas Cashman was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 42 years, less time served on remand, following his conviction after trial.
Also included in the video are other emergency vehicles responding in Manchester, including police cars, unmarked cars, fire engines and ambulances with blue lights and sirens.

Thought that current blue light rules, were that if you were approaching non moving traffic and there was no way through, then you switched off sirens and waited on blues. That police van at 8.11 was barging through and even used the horn to get the traffic to move. Seemed that made the situation more dangerous?

Yes and the Highway Code also tells drivers to not cross stop lines at red lights because emergency vehicles will find a way around you. With more and more local authorities putting up traffic light cameras the more people will be getting tickets and no an emergency vehicle behind you isn't an acceptable reason for appeal.

@@Spray_UK you would think so but the tickets get issued and people forced/bullied into paying them. The Police driver was definitely in the wrong for bullying them into committing an offence. Sirens off and lights too if necessary and wait for the lights to change if there was no safe way around is what we were taught on our ambulance driving course.

Does any one know of blue light spotting group that let's folk know if they have seen any unusual emergency vehicles. As a hgv driver in Devon I see loads of different types of blue lights on cars and some look fishy but can't use a camera as driving?
