I swear, when I first fought Placidusax and it let loose with the laser breath I was in fricking awe between the scene and music, didn't even care about dying, like yeah of course I'm going to die fighting Godzilla! Godfrey is one of my favorite bosses. So goddamn epic. One of the few bosses to show you a little respect before crushing you utterly. (On a side note, in NG+7 he kills you with 2 moves at 60 vigor and is even more relentless) Kudos for the finish! Well fricking done!

Interesting Fact about one of Elden Beasts attacks, the attack at 1:24:02 is called Golden Wave and the worst part about this attack is that you cannot dodge through attack if you are at the end of it or the middle of it because it actually hits multiple times. The only way to dodge it is by being out of its range or by dodging in front of the Elden Beast like you did. The sword the Elden Beast uses is actually Radagons body.

From trouble taking out a Tree Sentinel to defeating Marika solo ( no Squishy ), congrats! A strange Goddess, part super-quick heavy Holy damage dealer, and part giant being from beyond -- an impressive battle. And a very enjoyable series of videos, thank you.

Oh, the duality of Elden Ring's tougher boss fight experiences. Half the time being "stop running away from me!" and the other "leave me alone!" :D Great display of determination and perseverance anyways!

I'm such a huge sucker for games that play the main title theme in the final boss battle. It's such a great aural shorthand for "Remember your struggles, your trials and strife. Summon the strength you have earned and the skills you have built. It's all come down to this."

You did it! Like a champ too with no summons on the tough fights. Was a fun journey. I watched all of the last half of your Elden Ring videos. I was curious if you could beat the end bosses with sword and shield but I think that'd be ridiculously hard. Gonna miss you because we have nothing in common from your channel outside of this game, but that's cool. I wish you the best in whatever you do after this!

@Kevin Morris I went through the game twice. The 2nd time with no summons and a fresh game (not NG+). I beat every boss except Melenia and Elden Beast without summons, but I missed the River of Blood Katana and that discouraged me quite a bit being a dex build. I had way more fun the 2nd playthrough without summons.

6:22 my guess would be that these rot pest enemies hatch from those, since these things are worshipping malenia/millicent as their rot godess, also gowry is also one.

Nice done! If the left hand doesn’t equip with Malenia’s blade but with any other bloody weapon, this fight will end way much sooner with your technique.

This game was great overall though, I mean every large open world game has similar variation of the same boss with slight tweaks. And this was the first time from software made a game like this so I give them a pass. I think what matters most was exploring the different environments and everything they had to offer. There are very location's and many different creatures across the land between! And of course the gameplay is on point! It was a great ride and I think the majority of us had a great time with this game!

i find the idea that enemies were reused kind of ridiculous in a game of this scale. god of war and breath of the wild, both regarded as masterpieces of games, had so many reused enemies.

"I don't think it needs [fill in the blank], it's hard enough as it is!" Elden Ring is an awesome game but this is the one thing about it that makes me crazy lol, they went way overboard on some of the bosses. Hoarah Loux is a walking heart attack, Malenia's Waterfowl Dance is so extra, Mohg's bloodfire all over the floor is just annoying to deal with, and the damage from Morgott onwards is just generally way too high. It is what it is though, still a very fun game and it was great watching some of your gameplay on KZfaq again!

I never watch game play-throughs! One day I was curious about all the hype around this thing called "Elden Ring" and upon doing a bit of online searching YT recommended one of your videos! And oh man, I surprised myself and watched EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. of your Elden Ring videos. I had SO much fun and it was such a joy to see you explore this vast and expansive world. You are so patient and thoughtful and these videos were a real treat. I will miss them but I am SO grateful you took the time to share your experience and on top of that, you made it so accessible for your audience (many of whom are experienced when it comes to gaming I'm sure!)!! Datamining reveals all sorts of interesting things about the dragon lord. It apparently had 5 heads, some of which were female. This implies it might've been also an empyrrean, since they can do that sort of thing.

Great stuff kiddo. Very few streamers feel like "just a normal person". You very much remind me of my group of friends when I was young. You are funny and patient as heck, and it has been plain fun to watch you take on this game honestly, without looking up every little detail (there was SO much you could have done to make things easier) and yet you got through at a really good pace. Sorry, only Melania's Great Rune heals you when you attack. Rune arcs themselves do not heal like Embers did in DS3 sadly.

Actually your Ophan of Kos fight way worse. So when you think a boss is way too hard just remember your Orphan of Kos fight and you'll be able to beat any boss FromSoftware throws at you.

1:11:55 definitely a contrast to ds3 where the best bossfight came last, here we get the worst one at the end in the form of the shitty elden beast, i think everyone hates this boss, soul of cinder however was just insane, even before the fight starts its already epic, the way he pulls out the curled bonfire sword to fight you with is just so amazing.

SOC wasn't even close to being the best boss fight in DS3. It's literally one of the most cliche and unoriginal boss fights in the entire main game. I'd easily rank bosses like Twin Princes, Pontiff, Dancer, and Nameless waaay ahead of him.

He has at least 4, if not 5 heads. There is a medallion of him with 4 heads, though his model looks like it has five necks/ three stumps which could fit with lore and hand imagery.

personally im not the biggest fan of Dragonlord Placidusax, not only is he ugly as shit, but teleporting arround and stuff, thats just not how a dragon would fight, the only really good dragon fight in the souls series is still midir in my opinion, his animations are just so on point, the way he claws at you and everything, plus i love his soundtrack as well and you cant cheese him either, unlike in elden ring where you can cheese one shot pretty much every boss.

From my understanding, Elden Lord is the title of the consort of the god of the age, so as her first husband Godfrey was First Elden Lord and then when she married Radagon he became the second Elden Lord. Dragonlord Placidusax's description calls him the Elden Lord of his deity in the age before the Erdtree, though it is unclear if he was literally called "Elden Lord" or if this is just a comparison. In the other Elden Lord endings, Marika is forced to remain as god with you as her new consort and third Elden Lord, but in Ranni's ending you become her consort. There is some debate whether Ranni becomes the new god of the age so that as her consort you would literally be her Elden Lord, as her story is about her effectively killing herself to prevent her from being chosen as the new god and replacement for Marika as servant of the Greater Will, though she could effectively be the new de facto god of the age, just not under the control of the Greater Will. Either way, you serving as her consort generally puts you in the role that the Elden Lord served, whether officially or not. FromSoft lore is murky at best and will be debated for a long time, but there should be some semblance of truth in the broad strokes.

Elden Lord doesn't exist anymore. Elden Lord was bascially a puppet to the greater will (The Outer god that made queen marika a god). Ranni made sure the greater will could not interfere in the lands between any longer

it's cool seeing Dragonlord Plaxidusax without the mad panic of trying to actually fight her. I never noticed the severed heads the whole 700,000 times I fought her
