Hi guys. Wouldnt it be a better idea to have metal grates in the road rather than the concrete ones as the water would be able to go down. Yes some rubbish may get caught but it would be better than a heavily flooded street. I know that you all cannot do anything about it but a suggestion to those that lay the roads may help. Imagine if he wasn't paying attention and he got literally sucked into that drainage pipe. That's alot of water, and I wouldn't be standing that close to a drainage pipe. Look at the power of suction it has, running down it!!

They should fix a box tupe grating inside. On top there should also be a flat grating during rain. That will prevent big bottles get into and also safe for public.

Well, since that manhole cover did not have holes, it was part of the sanitary sewer, and not the Storm sewer. Not supposed to dump rain water into a sanitary sewer.

Due to the road level down here, the water had stagnated, that's why we had to remove the cover of the manhole and drain the water.

@@Rob-fc9wg it's not really the system capacity, it can cause problems at the treatment facility with chemical, biological and physical ratios and contact times but that amount shouldn't be that bad. Cost is the big issue for many municipalities and the back up of raw sewage with major rain water inflow.

I was thinking the same thing but there's many places that still and only have combined sewers. You're right though, it can cause problems in separated systems.

you should've recorded more than what you bargained for, for at least 2 minutes maybe 3. recording 53 seconds isn't good enough, its a tip from me to you, cause it would've been more satisfying if you kept on recording it. i hope you do more this, though not with small increments of 50 seconds, at most you should record at least 3 maybe 4 minutes of it, or what i said previously. im just making a statement, like your content, keep it coming.

Permanent solution is near to drainage make another hole as catchment area connected to this drainage hole . Water will automatically pass on through , and will not flooded at all . Or change the design of drainage cover itself to percolate automatically .

No, the lack of holes indicates it is NOT a storm sewer but a sanitary sewer to which is not supposed to take rain flood waters like these!

if this happens in my country, newspaper reporters will be there taking photos, doing interviews on what went wrong and police cars will have stopped around the manhole diverting cars away. here... no one seems to care lol 😅
