The theory behind the timing of the drop and the "Leak" is as follows: Drake wasn't waiting on Cole, he was waiting on Metro and Future's 2nd album to drop so he could revise his record... (he knew they were dropping another album) he listened to it, fixed up a bit of his stuff and added some stuff from what he heard (if he needed to) then he rolled it out as a "leak" because he sent it around the industry to certain people (remember in The Weekend's diss he brought up leaks in his operation) he made a bunch of "samples" with different beats and sent each one to a different person in his camp... and whichever one came out, he knew exactly what person is the "leaker" (hence why when Akademics started to play the unmixed version he said that someone from Drake's camp DMed him and told him "stop playing that shit, this is the real one play this one instead." Drake literally dropped Push Ups or "Leaked it" the next night after the Future x Metro album dropped. Also, the other theory is that Drake has some type of stake in UMG (Universal Music Group) because the owner of the label is Lucien Grange, who was on record saying if Drake asks for more money for anything, he has an unlimited budget. (Idk if this is true) but if it is true, he's got a stake in any of UMG's labels and he also has a stake in Gamma (which is owned by the guy that used to work for Apple Music) Also, he waited to "claim" Push Ups until Friday so he could make the bars about Taylor hit more, because he dropped 2 things (1 officially on DSPs and the other is this AI diss track)
