Tranexamic Acid for hyperpigmentation is underrated but it is extremely effective for clearing darks spots and melasma.
In this series we will go over the best product recommendations for treating hyperpigmentation whether from melasma, post inflammatory hyperpigmentation, dark marks from acne, eczema, scarring etc.
I will always recommend affordable skincare products as well.
The products recommended in this video that have tranexamic acid are:

First off, the way your skin glows in this video is encouraging to me as I’m on my skin care journey. I watched your video on melasma/hyperpigmentation and have developed my skin care routine based on your recommendations - (including cyspera) I’m only 2 weeks in and hope my skin can be half as glowy as yours in 14 weeks - I had a super bad case of melasma with back to back pregnancies. Honestly check out Dr. Berg, his advice (B5 [250mg], cod liver oil, zinc supplements) is the only thing that cleared my acne other than accutane. Find a good derm and treat the acne 1st, then deal with the hyperpigmentation. Other than accutane, minocyclin, retin a and benzaclin work well. There are many acne routines by dermatologists on here also Brianna Stanko has good acne product videos. To deal with acne & hyperpigmentation I use Lytera, Skinceticals Phyto+, Osmosis AC Catalyst DNA Serum (Vit C) and Tazorac 0.1%. Gonna try Anteage Brightener next.

Hi Dr. Stephens, I found your channel recently in an attempt to start some quarantine skincare. I love the content you create, lots of great information for us brown skinned girls too😁. If you do see this (but I also see that I'm 5 months too late on this video) please do explain if tranexamic acid is safe around eyes. Also if that could be a general bit of information for other actives videos(eg for azelaic acid) as well. Looking forward to learning more from you, lots of love from India.

Thank you for this! How would I incorporate this with my Tretinoin? On my off days? Before the retinol?

It's pretty non irritating since it is not an actual acid you can use it together at night. And you should also be using the transexamic acid in the morning as it is a twice a day thing.

I got great results with Lytera 2.0 but it’s so expensive! Tried going cheaper with other products with the ingredients you listed but, 6 months later, my hyperpigmentation sunspots are coming to the surface again😩 Broke down and ordered more lytera 2.0😭
