My first thyroid gland surgery was in 2016. Kalahati yung tinanggal and the result was benign and I wasn't taking meds kasi may half pa natira. After the surgery, may routine akong blood test every 6 months and all the results came back.normal up until my doctor asked ne to have an ultrasound and xray in 2021. Then the result came back na may enlarged SA natirang gland. Months later, I had the rest of my of thyroid gland removed and found out that i had papillary thyroid carcinoma. Kaya ngayon I'm.on medication na for life. Salamat SA Panginoon at naagapan ng maaga.

Just had my total thyroidectomy last month. It was pre-cancer. Thank God!

I was diagnosed with nearly stage 2 thyroid cancer when I moved to the States. At first, I was very hesitant to get it removed because I don't like taking medication in the long run. But my endoc advised me to get it removed kasi pag napabayaan it will be too late. So I said yes, we were expecting a part of it lang tatanggalin. Pero, it ended up naging total thyroidectomy dahil inflamed na ang thyroid ko. My bills went to almost $30k thank god for health care I only paid COPAY pero almost $3k din. Now I am taking Levothyroxine every day. 😞

I have been diagnosed with the same situation with Ms. Miles. Naoperahan ako year 2021 tapos yung left side lang ang kinuha since okay naman yung sa right side ko. Hindi pa ako nakakapag RAI kasi hoping na mag conceive muna ako bago ko pantanggalin yung remaining thyroid ko. I'm also taking levothyroxine para maging stable ang T4 & TSH ko. Doc, father ko nagkaroon ng goiter years ago. Walang bisyo ang father ko, walang inom, walang sigarilyo, pagtaya lang sa lotto. 😂 Ang naapektuhan sa father ko is yung lower body nya, hindi sya makalakad. Anlaki din ng ipinayat nya. Nakailang specialist kami bago nadiscover na goiter pala ang sakit nya. Hindi halata sa neck nya kasi "paloob" yung naging paglaki ng thyroid nya kaya di talaga sya nadetect. Okay na naman sya ngayon. Wala sa family namin ang pagkakaroon ng goiter, pero may history kami ng diabetes.

My mom passed due to anaplastic thyroid cancer. 😭 Last dec 2022 namin siya napansin na may maliit na bukol sa left shoulder nya. Yun pala yung bukol na yun tumor na. Pero kumalat na. Sobrang bilis every other day nag progress na hanggang sa nabarahan na ng tumor yung left carotid nya pati yung trachea and esophagus na ay lumihis na. 😭 Sobrang bilis na hindi na inadvise na i surgery since baka mahirapan lang din mom ko due to her age. 😭 Nakakamiss lang since ako nag alaga sa kanya dahil may alzheimer siya 😭 she passed last jan 12.

My husband was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism last April 2022. Pumayat siya ng 10 kg before namin nalaman na may hyperthyroidism siya. And during his medication nagkaroon din siya ng hypokalemia. Dumating sa point na halos hindi na niya maigalaw ang legs niya. Iyong pala bumagsak na ang potassium niya because of hyperthyroidism. Thank God normal naman ang sugar level niya. Sabi ng Doctor niya, mas risky daw sa lalaki ang sakit na ito. We thought that katapusan na niya. He give up his career para lang magpagamot. Saan niya nakuha? Hereditary o namamana. Namatay si papa niya dahil sa hyperthyroidism. His eldest sister was diagnosed also with same condition 3 years ago sa Singapore. Kaya sobra akong nag worry noon. Last July 2022, nag RAI siya. Radio Active Iodine. And hindi biro ang bayad ng isang tableta ng RAI. And finally, last January 2023 his doctor declared him as survivor. And okey na siya. But he need to drink his lifetime maintenance to control his TSH and T4.

I've been through what Miles went through. Almost same exact situation though yung situation ko was benign. I went through needle biopsy, to radiation therapy, up to the total thyroidectomy. Benign yung cyst sa akin pero lumalaki sya why I needed the surgeries. I had 2x thyroidectomy hoping on the first to save the other half pero inalis din the second half of the lobe few months after. I became hypo after my thyroid lobes were taken out. It's been over 10 years na rin and I am on a lifetime medication. I was taking the generic Levothyroxine pero di ako hiyang kaya I switched to the brand itself, Synthroid. I go through blood work at least 2-3x in a year to monitor my thyroid levels. Importante din magpa-wellness annually dahil being hypo or hyper can affect the other functions of your body.

I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism last Jan 2020 and after 2 years I agreed with my doctor’s advice to undergo RAI last June 2022. My thyroid only got stable for few months and then become hypothyroidism. After few months I was back to hyperthyroidism up to present.

Consider melastasis...kaya kumalat ang cancer dahil matagal hindi ako bumalik nag pa check up sa doctors...at kulang din ang budget. Hoping and praying na merong Nuclear Medicine sa public Hospital.

Gusto ko na din magpatingin sa doktor mukhang may problema ako sa thyroid dahil pag mainit ang panahon sobra ako pawisan at pag naman malamig like nasa mall ako, nanginginig naman ako sa ginaw. Yung iba hindi naman. At nag gi gain ako ng weight kahit mahina naman ang kain ko.

Yung sa akin po is talagang nagpapalpitate na ako. Talagang ang lakas ng tibok ng puso ko na parang halos yung katawan ko aalog pag tumibok tapos parang may bumabara sa leeg ko. Kaya nag laboratories ako. Malapit na siya maging toxic. Luckily Benign naman siya. So may maintenance ako ngayon for life. I’ve been diagnosed with hypothyroidism 25 yrs.ago dna ako nkaka tulog for how many days ,sobrang pumayat ako at halos lumuwa na ang aking mga mata.meron pina inom sa akin yung Dr. na meds para makatulog ako.
