@@vicentepascal6758 Ujama can not work in Kenya, it can collapse the Kenyan economy overnight but I think Kenya should start dismantling monopolies held by a powerful corrupt elite, These elites do not have monopolies in a single sector but you find one individual or family having monopolies in the transport sector, hospitality, Finance, Agriculture etc. which makes it impossible for other Kenyans to enter those sectors as they can't compete with individuals or groups financed by stolen government money

Unfortunately Kenya has a vibrant and open economy with a versatile WELL EDUCATED labour force fully capable of participating and growing the economy, evidence of wealth is simply not an elitist enjoyment rather large segments of the population are actively engaged in the economy and enjoy its fruit, njoo Nairobi and other towns muone na macho, muache wivu za pesa nane.

Kenyans tend to brag about their Education but to a greater extent that education system of theirs only brings out jobs seekers not entrepreneurs. a Kenyan can not make it without connection from corridors of power. in Kenya You have to know someone with influence and government stolen money. if a Tanzanian wants to go into farming he or she can lease land direct from Government, is that possible in Kenya?, every piece of land in Kenya is owned by a powerful corrupt family.

Fellow Kenyans, the truth is that we are still very much ahead of all EA brother country's. However, previously TZ shied away from touching their vast mineral resources but now they are aggressively mining and exporting. Uganda recently discovered so much oil and gold and are already exporting gold. We depend only on brain power and our neighbours are actually going to catch-up and overtake us unless we position ourselves strategically to also benefit from regional mining activities. Secondly for now Samia who loved Kenya previously has realized that her country people hates Kenya and is therefore just riding the wave to get her first election as president.

Well said, but our leaders should focus more on the economic inequality gaps, am Ugandan and while I visited Kenya i witness the lower income earner doing quite bad compared to those of Uganda, I think it also has something to do with the Kenyan culture, too much captalism and lots of wealth in the hands of the elite, so our leaders have to take up the economic model of the Gulf states like Qatar, Dubai etc, the wealth distribution in those countries is amazing

IMO the dynamics of this issue need a very wise approach or in the least an attempt at seeking wise advise. Putting this in mind and knowing that probably tea,coffee, horticulture (flowers) can rake in a substantial amount of $, they have and can benefit immensely from FDI but hubris (which our good book says God hates and must humble them) and absolute lack of wisdom from apparent 'incharge' (If you don't dance to his tune, mambo ni matatu) then capital flight is inevitable. Anyway 'we' made the bed and must lie on it 🤗.

@skyhaker4742 that's why Ruto wants to change things. Tumekua na politicians wa kusema one things na kufanya ingine. Like the housing plan imekua since kitambo but no politician was implementing it. It is only Ruto who has stuck to his manifesto. That's what we need to develop.

Paying more taxes at a lower rate on a wider tax base is different than paying taxes more taxes from a higher rate on a smaller tax payer base. It is a shame we have little forex earnings compared to our neighbours like Tanzania.

Anyone who has moved through E. A knows that none of the neighbors can come near Kenya in matters Economic development. For ksh 3,300/= you get Ugx 100,000/=. Infact almost all international ratings have Kenya at no 7 in Africa while the rest are too far behind to consider.

You fellow, the Kenyan Shilling has depreciated. Back then like last year, 1 Ksh was 34UgSh and now it has dropped to a rate of 23 from 34. 3,300 will give you Ugx 75900. Do your research. 2021, Uganda wasranked 3rd on the Continent and the top in East Africa against the US$. Kenyans working in Uganda use Ugx to buy US$ then come change in Kenya. Why, the Kenyan shilling is poorly perming.

It's not taxes as a percentage of GDP that matter. Its what services those taxes are giving to citizens that's important. Here in Kenya citizens are paying heavily for necessities such as electricity...and we still get black outs.
