I remember the beef Hot Sauce had with Reed. Ivan was running with him at a Supercross race early in his 450 days and Reed said “What’s up with this “Chump” trying to race with me?” ...or something to that effect. I don’t think anyone appreciated that comment much and I was really rooting for Tedesco to smoke him that after that. Reed really needed an attitude adjustment back then.

Reed's arrogance has made him into a fool many times. Bubba shut him up a few times...

Best Ivan "The terrible" Moment was back in 1995, Tingley Colisuem in ABQ, NM arenacross. Racing 85A he holeshot, railed the first two berms WFO and greased the Triple with a PHATTTTTTTT whip ran away with the win. Unbelievable style even back in the early to mid 90's on mini's. Ivan was sick!!!!

Funny to think that Specialized bike on the shelf costs way more than the YZ250 behind Don…

Maybe start thinking about making longer versions of these for 2022 Donn! They always end to soon. Another 25-35 minutes atleast, the convo’s always start getting so good and then have to end.

I was at Glenn Helen and saw Ivan and yelled out, WEST SIDE. He came right over to me and we talked about Albuquerque days of racing. Yea he used to be called West Side. I like Hot Sauce better.

Always been a fan of hot sauce! Way back on those Plano Hondas , that 05 outdoor title has to be considered one of the least likely to win a championship ever! Yeah he was killing it in SX but nobody saw that MX title I don’t care what anyone says!!

Great interview, i grew up racing in Albuquerque, a few years younger than Ivan and remember watching him, his brother, and Justin buckelew rip 80's around the Moriarty mx track. Stoked he's had such a successful career in racing! Would love to see more of him or the others I mentioned on swap!

4 strokes killed motocross. And I’ll explain why. It wasn’t about emissions or environmental or even noise complaints like they said it was. The purpose of the 4 stroke was to make racing even faster. But it he bikes are TOO FAST. Nowadays the riders have to manage the bike speed instead of holding it wide open on a 2 stroke. I also believe 2 strokes made it more difficult for the racers , more clutch work, but I’m not going to complain any longer I see Electric bikes com my to SX by 2030

grounded. Wonder if a ce chest protector would have kept his ribs and lung from injury. Another reason for increased injuries is nobody wears gear and expects to never eat shit with an aging demographic on one end of the spectrum and kids jumping from 150# 20 horsepower mini to 250# 40 horsepower full size bikes on the other side of the demographic. full pads just ain't cool, but somehow guys did a little better throughout 80s and 90s eaven 2000s with braces and chest protectors. So easy to say fit and leave the brand new shit back at the van nobody else is wearing anything, then simple tip overs or cross rut wad up keeps you from riding for months on end. But some how we don't seem to remember pain out of laziness and vanity and the insanity ensues.

150 mini...? Don't you mean either a 100 or 112 supermini? A 150 is a bored 125.

Amd they do wear chest protectors under their jerseys, the popular new one you actually pump air into, it's essentially like a small airbag. It works well and has attachments like shoulder brace I use for my bad one that pops out all the time. They sponsor the PC team, they used Macadoos crash 2 seasons ago when he face planet into the face and then got flipped by the bike like a ragdoll as marketing for the chest protector. Most everyone is running something under their jerseys, they don't wear stuff on the outside anymore

150 pounds for 80s,85s,112s. 250# for big bikes, wet. I believe 125s are 144cc testically after big bore kits. Some of, if not most are just in shirts, or roost guards, need to go back to what works, because the injury list grows every year making db that much more of a liability for insurance companies when they evaluate shops, bike manufacturer sales, and tracks. Hard to throw your family into a notoriously violent sport where safety is ignored by the sports elite for vanity, or lack of leadership. Razor back pegs should be eliminated replaced with limited length stud or teeth, kneckbraces and full chests should be a must. If companies paid riders, the sponsor whores would be using them tomorrow.
