See how the HDX Combine Header worked in the field, offering a perfect ground following.
We caught up with UK farmer and contractor Alan Cook to find out what he thought of his HDX header in its second season. The 2021 harvest was proving a lot more difficult than the previous year with a warm start which often made conditions too dry and then a period of very changeable weather.
The HDX header with its 1,200 mm belts has all the advantages of a extendable platform with draper belt technology. This gives you multi-crop flexibility, which is especially useful during the rapeseed harvest. What's more, the fingered top auger reduces header losses by up to 26% in rapeseed compared to a standard top auger. The lightweight mechanical side knives are easy to fit, and the absence of a heavy drive motor at the top lowers shattering losses.
The hydraulically adjustable attachment frame moves vertically, which helps isolate the combine from the header for better ground following. The header wings behave like two independent cutter bars. Flexing by up to 10° they deliver great performance in down crop and leave an even stubble on irregular ground. Cutting crop to a consistent stubble height also improves the loading of the combine which
delivers better separation and cleaning.
