Hello,
This horse owner is saving money and ordering service too rare. Today we made this horse happy again. This horse is 10 Years old. His name is "Bieris" :)

I live in Belgium, the origin of the draft horse. They are getting rare as, obviously, they don't need to do anymore heavy pulling. I like draft horses a lot. Usually they have a kind character. Such impressive, powerful animals.

The horse is massively over weight. Looks like laminitis on the fronts? So satisfying to see those bars popped out.

that horse, looks like a draught horse, they are that big.

@@melanisticmandalorian Nah, Sidilicious is right. I've owned draughts myself and know what a healthy weight looks like for different breeds, and also what fat vs muscle looks like. This horse is overweight, but like many draughts, he carries it well. Instead of all gathering around the belly, the fat is evenly distributed from neck to hind quarters. However, the description says he's been abandoned, so my guess is he's been left in a big field in early summer while the owners went poof. Draughts, just like ponies, are more sensitive to laminitis than lighter breeds, and also more prone to gaining weight.

Oh, so the horse was abandoned. What a wonderful and difficult job done by the farrier to make the horse more comfortable, and its hoofs more upright. What a very skilled farrier, it would take a lot of experience to use an angle grinder like that between one's knees holding the hoof of a large skittish animal.

That horse is either deaf or is used to noise. That grinder usually spooks them. Good job to your cousin. That baby needed that done

I believe the farrier’s confidence was apparent to the horse which would have a huge calming effect. There also may have been some exposure to the grinder before hand. But it depends on the horse and its disposition. A good observation.
