You said the rays have to be the same distance apart from the mirror, but when I measured the two green lines that were perpendicular to the mirror, one was shorter than the other. Is this supposed to hapoen? Because I often find it happens to my diagrams as well and I'm a bit confused about that.
@sciencechomp5444
@sciencechomp5444 4 жыл бұрын
It's not meant to happen, but it does due to slight inaccuracies of measurement and pen/ruler work. Very rarely does anyone actually do these perfectly, but it can be done with a little bit of care.

Hello, in our assignment, aside from the arrow, there is also a symbol for the eye. What is the role of the "eye" in drawing an image?
@sciencechomp5444
@sciencechomp5444 6 ай бұрын
Good question. The eye is there to guide the incident and reflection rays. So, the reflected rays go into the eye. Does that make sense?

hello, what if the object is a triangle with 3 points?
@sciencechomp5444
@sciencechomp5444 8 ай бұрын
Same process. Start with the top point, and then the other point nearest the mirror. Bear in mind, the other point will be hidden from the view of the mirror, but based on the other two points, you can still complete the triangle.

do you always have to draw 2 incident rays???
@sciencechomp5444

Yes. Two is the minimum. The reason being is that it allows you to pinpoint the position behind the mirror (where the rays meet).

Sir Why in mirror lateral inversion occurred?
@sciencechomp5444
@sciencechomp5444 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the interesting question. The weird thing is, lateral inversion isn't actually what's going on. It's actually a front to back inversion. Light can only travel in straight lines and the mirror is exposed to the front part of your body and reflects it backwards. It's a coordinate inversion. Another way to think of it: When you drive a car and check the rear view, the drivers remain in the same seat.

Also do you use the same method for diagonal lines
@sciencechomp5444
@sciencechomp5444 4 жыл бұрын
@@keeratghuman9041 It's just a light ray. You can draw them at any angle. Remember, angle of incidence = angle of reflection (on the mirror), so if the light ray is hitting the mirror at 0 degrees, then it also reflects at zero degrees. The ray is then extended behind the mirror.
