Thank you for this video. I am knew to Procreate and this was just the video I needed to help me learn. I love digital art, but all my work was looking too flat, this has helped massively. Also, thank you for not editing out when you do parts of your work wrong or when you redo bits. Makes me feel normal that I’m not the only one to undo a hundred times ☺️ ☺️

I’ve just found your videos. I’m just learning illustration art (I am a confident realistic portrait artist but wanted to learn to be more imaginative with my art). I don’t really have my own style yet (I’m ok with that) what I struggle with is coming up with my own ideas. No scrub that not so much the difficulty coming up with my own ideas, I can have plenty of them. It’s trying to draw the right poses etc but I’m getting there and watching your videos I’m sure will help. You have a new subscriber here 🥰 T x

I absolutely freaking adore this 😍 I am going to try and recreate this. When I'm done I will post on my Instagram (if that is OK with you) and tag you. I am new to drawing, so tutorials and recreating others work is part of my learning process. I also bought an ipad last month just to get procreate and I'm loving it. Thanks so much Lu! Sorry, it got cut off at the end but I added a watercolor paper texture and set the blend mode to multiply to give it another layer of texture. Hope that helps!

I think sometimes you have to start out copying so that you can learn. You can always substitute colours/shapes while copying to experiment. Eventually, you'll find your style and be confident in producing your own work.

Yes, copying or mimicking is a good place to learn...if you're making them just for practice of course. But I would recommend taking an online course in character design or animation basics to learn more about shapes, positions and overall design. This will give you a great understanding of what makes good characters look remarkable and give you the building blocks from where you can develop your own style. And just like everything else, tons and tons of practice, there's no avoiding doing it for 100's to 1000's of hours, lol! Hopefully one day I'll make my own course! Hope that helps! 😘

So sorry the voice over got cut off at the end there, I imported a watercolour texture, put it as the top layer and set the blending mode to multiply to add another layer of texture. Hope that helps :)

Make the music a background element, not the entertainment . I could barely hear you at times over the music, and then times that you weren’t talking it almost deafened me. I finally turned the sound off and put CC on. CC was TERRIBLE, so I shut the video off at 9 minutes in. Oh well. It looked like I might have enjoyed the rest of it.
