Sir can you please explain to me in the table of values how do i find y when x is 0 and 1. Even in my mock exams i keep getting the same value for when x is 0 and when x is 1.I hope you understand what i mean.

Gemma Khan Sometimes they may be the same!! When x=0 you can always just look at the y-intercept (the number at the end!) and use this to fill in your value for when x=0. Hopefully if you follow the written methods I use you should be happy with the value when x=1! Give it a go and let me know how you get on with that 😁🙏🏼

Hi there Sir I was a bit confused for this part 13:29 as my teacher at school taught us that if the x is not a the front you need to re arrange it so that x is first so would that not mean that the 0 would be -4 other than that really helped so thank you! 😃

How do you find the turning point of a cubic equation?

That’s a good question you would need to differentiate the function (there’s something called differentiation) and then set the first derivative equal to 0 and then solve the quadratic equation!!

You wouldn’t be asked as most cubic graphs have more than one turning point, you look at these at A level 😁🙏🏼

I’m assuming that you’d have to take your values from the numbers that are shown on the x axis. For example if the line on the x axis is from -1 to 5, then your values should be those

star up Start here! Start working through the grade 5 playlist and then move over to the grade 6-9 playlist! You could also watch the two videos in the ‘ultimate revision’ playlist that does a brief overview of all of the GCSE topics to start identifying what you do/don’t know! 😁🙏🏼
