I have the exact same one and it does not work. You cannot set any temperatures. The high and low are preset and you can't change it despite trying everything. So I am going to purchase an alternative. These really are substandard and my heating is not working properly as a result

Easy explanation at last, thank you, but when my room gets up to temperature, should my boiler keep coming on every 10 minutes? New boiler keeping me awake!!!

These thermostats are designed to modulate and the default setting its 6 cycles per hour for a gas boiler. So, your boiler is likely to fire once every 10 mins to maintain set point.

These are normally used with a separate timer and you would normally use the off function on the timer to turn the heating off completely.

Is there a way to boost the RF signal strength? Occasionally the thermostat loses connection, having 2-3 concrete walls between the thermostat and the receiver at the boiler.

no but there is a RF mode that allows you to check if the receiver and stat are in range.

Sorry, have just read that it means the batteries need replacing. The red alarm on the main unit was flashing as well.

I’m trying to work this thermostat out, I’ve set my limits to lo 13 and hi 15. I assumed this would activate the heating when it drops to 13c and cut out at 15c. The heating kicked in at 15c this evening. This is confusing. Please could you explain. Thank you

The high and low are limits. So for instance if the low is set to 12ºC it means you won't be able to set a temperature lower than 12ºC. The temperature you set by turning the dial is what you'll control at.

My digi star has essentially broken. It appears the batteries that were in there melted. It’s now non operational so can’t put heating on. The boiler works because it heats water for us every day. Do I simply buy a new digi stat to connect to my boiler so that I can get heating again? Thanks

if it's digistat+ you can buy a new unit and wire it in place of the existing part number 30002. If it is the digistat+RF you would need to buy the RF version and pair it to your receiver part number 31003

No, this is a non programmable thermostat and needs to be used with a programmer / timer.

If it's wired, you'll need to wire in the new one. If it's wireless, your new stat can pair to the existing receiver. Have a chat with our tech support if you're still unsure - 033 6000 622

Hi,I was wondering if you could help me for my Drayton thermostat recently broke in the battery compartment and no longer functions but what I would like to know is that if I bought a new Drayton thermostat like the one I used to have would it be able to work with my existing Drayton Digistat or will I have to replace the whole system.

This is unbelievably complicated! Does pressing the 'Set' button actually tell your heating system to heat to the temperature you've told it to, or does that happen just by turning the dial? If so, why call it the 'Set' button? How do you tell the system to heat to a certain point and then stop - is that not what 'Set' means? Do you have to re-set the 'Set' button every time you walk in the house or wake up? This thermostat is wired to our boiler's timer - which one's controls makes the decisions? How does it know whether I want to change the 'Set back' setting on the 'Set' button, or the temperature I want the room to actually be at when I'm in it? Pressing the 'Set' button does not actually 'Set' the temperature you want the room to be, it tells you what the pre-set 'Set' setting is - how does that help anyone? How can I simply tell it thing to heat my house? If it's just a matter of setting the temperature by turning the dial and walking away, why have the bl**dy 'Set' button? It's really infuriating and not clear at all.

The way to change the set point is to turn the dial to the value you require and then let go. The set button is a pre-set with a factory default of 15 ºC but this can be changed in the program menu. It is designed to be quick way of setting a fixed temperature without needing to turn the dial. The thermostat is non programmable so the temperature that is set will remain until you make a change. For instance, if it's set to 20ºC and the room temperature is 18ºC, the boiler will run so long as the timer is also in an ON period. If the timer is OFF the thermostat will have no effect, so both need to be demanding heat for the boiler to run, and either have the ability ot turn the boiler OFF when they become satisfied.

I hope this is not the masterpiece of this engineer career, oh mama, "intuitive" design Hahaha. The batteries don't connect correctly so I had to bend the metal bits, the white plastic holding the battery is flimsy and DON'T hold the batteries so I had to tape it.... because everytime I was touching the dial the sytem was resetting showing the number 40....

Following a power cut my worcester boiler has error 026 showing. it's been suggested to re-pair the thermostat... any ideas how i do that please?

I initially read the instructions on the manual and share the same sentiments. If I'm going out for an hour or so then I just manually turn the dial down a few degrees and then turn it back up again when I return home. I think the 'set' button isn't as revolutionary as they make out, as all it does is save you turning the dial a few clicks🤣

Hi i got Drayton Digistat +/+RF thermostat in my hallway. My boiler is combi boiler from Valliant brand. I want to control my heating switch ON and OFF from my mobile phone app and set my heating times from mobile phone app. Which Drayton thermostat would you recommend which i can easily replace by myself ??

You would need to upgrade to Wiser. If it is the Digistat+RF version the Hub from a Wiser Kit 1 it would fit straight onto the backplate of the existing receiver. If it is a Digistat+, you would still need a Wiser kit 1 but there would be wiring involved.

The Wiser hub supplied in a Kit 1 takes the place of your existing receiver (SCR).

The thermostat has just been fitted today together with my new boiler but I need to get a torch every time I want to check the temperature or alter it. I am used to altering the temperature frequently as I am affected by heat and cold. I regret buying this thermostat already. Any suggestions please.

I spoke to your technical department many times after my plumber told me that to comply with boiler plus regulations I would need to have a different thermostat with my new boiler. This week the boiler was fitted, I am at a loss to understand why I had to change from the perfectly good thermostat I had to this one which I need to get my glasses and torch to be able to alter it. A backlight was never mentioned or the necessity for one which is obviously needed.@@Draytonheating

Hi, I have an old RF+ that has stopped working, changed batteries and tried everything. The screen is blank, and where it's broken it's stopped the boiler from heating. Is it possible to just replace the digistat? I've only seen the digistat sold with either a receiver too, or with the LP devices with built in receivers. Is it not sold individually? Thanks

The Digistat + is available from plumbing and heating merchants as transmitter only using part number 31003. It is more widely available in a kit using part number RF601.

I set the hi and lo in the program menu but now i cant get the program menu to come back on! I want to undo the hi and lo and just turn the dial to choose temperature. I dont want a setback or a preset or anything like that. I just want to turn it up and down, which is why i got a dial one. How do i factory reset this thing and start again?

The easiest way to get back into the program menu is to power the thermostat down by removing the batteries for 10 seconds, then reinsert and wait for the screen to show you the ambient temperature. At this point press and hold the set button until 'PR' is shown on screen. You can then assess the hi and lo limits. The Digistat + and the +RF only control temperature so if you want your heating to be OFF set it to the minimum which is 5ºC. If you want it to be ON set it to a level you are happy with which is typically between 19-21ºC. It is likely you'll have a timer on your system that works in conjunction with the thermostat and this will also have the ability to turn the hating ON/OFF.

Turn the thermostat up to maximum and then use your timer to control the heating periods.

My thermostat has "British Gas" on the front and "T4 RF" on the top, but searching for "T4 RF" on KZfaq brings up videos about the Drayton Digistat +RF, and it does look just like the one in the video, so I'm hoping that's what it is, just re-badged. I'm really confused by the different videos. One video says to set it you hold the Set button, get "Pr" displayed, and then you can set minimum ("Lo") and maximum ("Hi") temperatures. And my thermostat does do that - but the heating doesn't seem to stay on till the room reaches the maximum I've set, or stay off till it reaches the minimum. And now this video says you just turn the dial to set the temperature, and says nothing about setting minimum and maximum. So what are these Lo and Hi settings for? Grateful for any help!

We manufactured the T4 RF for British Gas but it runs custom firm wear which means the menu systems are slightly different to the digistat+ RF. Instructions for the T4 RF will be available from British Gas but the high and low settings refer to limiting the range that the thermostat can be set to. The default is 5-30ºC.

Receiver seems to have lost connection to the thermostat, how can I fix that pls? Red flashing every few minutes on the receiver. I changed the batteries on the thermostat…. They were low, sign was showing that it was low. Switched off and on boiler. What else can I do without calling repair man… I can’t meddle with electricity :) isn’t there an easy way to reset connection…

@@Draytonheating well basically I realised the boiler had two clocks, the 24 h one was incorrect, so I adjusted it and boiler finally started heating as per the set up:) thank you!

I believe you manufactured the British Gas T4 RF for them. My thermostat keeps showing 30.4 and is unable to be used for a short period of time when this happens. Any idea what this is? For the life of me I cannot find this error code anywhere.

Mine won’t go above or below the set temps by turning the dial. It is so annoying. House gets cold at night and heating keeps turning on because I can’t lower the set temp.

It sounds like the range limits have been set, these can be changed as follows. Long press on set button until "PR" appears. One click anti clockwise and "LO" will appear. Click the set button and use the dial to set the low limit, the default is 5. Click the set button to save the change. Turn the dial two clicks clockwise and "HI" will appear. Click the set button and use the dial to set the high limit, the default is 30. Click the set button to save the change and then press and hold the set button to take you back to the normal screen. Any problems call our customer support team - 0333 6000 622

The Digistat is to control within half a degree of the set point. If it is not doing this it will be worth chatting with our customer services who can run some diagnostics - 0333 6000 622.

Check to see if there is a flame symbol on the stat and that the green light on the receiver is on. If not, contact our support team on 0333 6000 622

Both my green and red lights are on solid. What does it mean?

Red light means the receiver and the thermostat have lost communication and would need to be recommissioned. The green light is on because the override button has been pressed. This will turn your boiler on but you will have no temperature control as the thermostat and receiver are not talking. You can stop the boiler firing by pressing the override button an d the green light will go out.
