hi! i’ve had braces for more than half a year and here’s some advice and tips. Yes, bring chapstick to your appointment! Secondly, you will be in a lot of pain these next couple of days or weeks. But you can take pain meds like ibuprofen 30 mins before appointment and take it after. The last thing I will warn you about is be prepared to have extra appliances to be put on depending on your teeth situation

is it affecting you mentally? because I find gaps cute, I mean I have braces too because of my severely crooked teeth, but if it's for gaps then personally I think it's not worth it. but in the end it depends on you and how you feel!!

Hii! So, I would recommend getting an orthodontics consult if your dentist recommends it. They can tell you about your jaw and mouth structure, if you have wisdom teeth, if you need braces, or are in need of extensive operations or treatments, ect. Try consulting your dentist and bring up the question of braces. They know your teeth better than people online. Good luck!

I have braces . Half of my bracket snapped off and my back tooth moved sideways so now my orthodontist will have to fix that bracket and put a bracket on my back tooth that went to the side . That will be on my birthday which is the worst thing ever 😢😭😭😭😭😭😭😭.

I got brackets on my last teeth on my top jaw because the teeth were pushed up . And I got brackets on my last teeth on my bottom jaw because teeth were pushed sideways. My wire got stuck in my gum 😭😭😭 It hurts so bad . The pain feels like I just got braces 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

If all else fails use wax for the wire, It helps some. Also if you aren't alergic orajel may help along with pain meds. Hope you start feeling better.
