HD Railfanning Pan Am Around Portland ME on 10/15/2017: WAPO w/ EMD's, PORU, POED, BFPO & Amtrak!

6 жыл бұрын10/15/2017 was a very productive day railfanning Pan Am and Amtrak for about 10 hours in the Portland Maine area. WAPO with a trio of SD45 carbodies was definitely the catch of the day for me.
Pan Am Trains Seen:
- WAPO with MEC 619 - MEC 601 - MEC 610
- PORU with MEC 316 - MEC 517 - MEC 319
- POED with MEC 7605 - MEC 7489
- BFPO with MEC 7518 - MEC 7627 - MEC 7517
Amtrak Trains Seen:
694 with AMTK 406 - AMTK 136
691 with AMTK 181 - AMTK 90224
696 with AMTK 90214 - AMTK 201

Good shooting. It's interesting that only about 7% of all freight that comes into Maine comes via rail, with trains like these. I've sometimes wondered if the Amtrak station would have been better placed right on the mainline behind the former MEC headquarters building.

9:12 why couldn’t we hear the motor of the engine it was literally silent

Holden Bergeron the speed of the engine. It wasn’t going very fast, so the engine didn’t have to work as hard.
