Learn how to check for Stener Lesion on MRI. In this video, I show you the important anatomic structures you need to identify to assess an MRI for a potential Stener lesion in patients with Skier's thumb (acute injury) or Gameskeeper thumb (chronic injury).
You need to identify the adductor pollicis tendons and the aponeurosis and need to understand or course of the ulnar collateral ligament of the first metacarpal joint.

A hidden academic gem on youtube. I struggle to identify thumb stener lesion at lot as compare with an easier one like knee stener lesion. This video helps a lot. You got a new subscriber now.

Excellent , best explantion ever . Did you use a dédicated coil ? if you don't have a dedicated coil which one you use ? in wich plan you scan the thumb ?

Honestly, not sure. Hand coil, then protocols in these cases were different between scanners and some were older exams. But you need some axials and coronal and sagittal images. Critical is that the coronal plane is meticulously planned on the axials so that it is really coronal treibe the thumb, same applies for the sags, else you will run into troubles.

I sprained my thumb 2 weeks ago and all my dr has done is X-rays and put me in a splint. No MRI and my thumb has a bone that I can feel and see on the Inter on my thumb. What should I do?
