I now cannot get a doctor because I refused to take statins. My cholesterol numbers were elevated due to carnivore. I'm 40lbs lighter and bloodwork is perfect all except for my CRP which is now only recently out of whack, yet doctors don't care about that. All they care about is feeding the pharma cow. I have lost all respect for the medical profession.

Actually I’ve taken statins on and off for decades but not for the last 15 years or so. Fortunately I’ve never had a bad side-effect - or a lowering in the numbers that statins are supposed to lower. Absolutely no effects positive or negative, which may be just as well.

@@markiangooley Not YET seen any problems, etc. If the dangerous affect were quick and obvious, the statins would have been taken off the market years ago and the Drs. and drug companies would have been sued out of business. They know there are long term dangers and that's all a part of their plan... Just my opinion.

A work colleague took a statin for at least 20 years and still required a stent down the track (not sure if he had a heart attack or just blockage; whichever the statin did NOT prevent it). He stopped his statin about 3 years ago. He told me that he was okay on it for most of that time and then the side effects started and he felt awful. He said that once he stopped the statin he felt so much better.

I’ve been following Dr Cywes for a few months & about a month ago I started carnivore. Lost 10 lbs, all inflammation GONE, joints felt great, sleeping well. I fell off the wagon this week & ate carbs (bread, fruit) & I feel TERRIBLE. My joints hurt, bloated, brain fog. This has really convinced me to stay the course with carnivore. Thank you Dr Cywes for showing us the way!

Love this -as a physician a retiring cardiologist basically told this to my medical school class 30 years ago …a doc asked “if we don’t write a statin and one of our patients gets a heart attack and we are sued what should we do ? “ he answered “I’ll write a letter of support at your malpractice trial “ I remember thinking 🤔 why would the AMA and all the other cardiologist be on board with this ? The retiring cardiologist predicted we will have skyrocketing diabetes and mental health problems …all this has come true …thank you for all you do -there is a big disconnect in ignorance of diet and inflammation

My doctor (drug pusher) is freaking out about my LDL right now even though my triglycerides and HDL are perfect, as is my blood pressure, blood sugar, and I’m at a healthy weight. My LDL wouldn’t have been considered high before the invention of the statin. I so needed to hear your talk today Dr. Cywes. You keep me on track and remind me why I changed my lifestyle. Dr. Budoff mentioned that the ADA and the AHA are starting to appreciate the contribution of inflammation to the process of atherosclerosis. So why then, to this very day, do these two "medical" organizations recommend that we diabetics, with known heart disease, consume 50%-75% of our daily calories as CARBOHYDRATES. Something really "stinks to high heaven" here!!!!!!

Instead, I'm thinking the mindset will be more along the lines of, "Keep eating whatever you want and take this drug for life." It always amazes me that people come out against a fabulous drug that makes huge improvements in your health yet they justify taking a whole bunch of other medications and supplements as if those are better supplements should come from food and you should never need any medications but if you are going to require a medication should you not use the most effective one just saying
@Rick-zw7zv
@Rick-zw7zv Күн бұрын
@@robertcywes2966 Supplements have a better risk benefit ratio. Yes, they may be less effective but how effective do they need to be if you’re adopting lifestyle changes? Medications often work so well that there is no incentive for the patient to make dietary and lifestyle changes. Weighing risk benefits is a complicated matter in people whose bodies are already ravaged by decades of diabetes, it has to be determined for each individual case and it’s impossible to make a general statement on the efficacy of this drug if the criteria is longevity.

When glucose is enterally OVERsupplied the persistent storage hormonal milieu and poorly controlled hyperglycemia cause HARM OVER TIME. When Hyperglycemia is because of CELLULAR DEMAND and glucose comes from internal stores the hormone milieu is quite different and KETONES are almost always present. Demand or utilization hormonal state governed by glucagon and adrenaline and as far as we're aware this does not cause damage and is rapidly cleared

As honest and accurate as this is, it will help the skyrocketing sales of GLP1s for weight loss. And we wait for the side effects that cannot be reversed. We are talking nearly $3 TRILLION dollar expense to the medical system, absolutely dwarfing the cost of insulin and treatment of T2D. Health care is collapsing right before our eyes. Driven by profits rather than common sense health treatments. The answer? Education about carbohydrates, ultra processed foods and insulin resistance. And personal responsibility. That will free up resources for people who are unable to do it themselves.

If the side effect of not taking one of these medications is death from heart attack and stroke put that into your perspective as well these medications do save lives with a very low side effect profile obviously lifestyle changes preclude the need for these medications but if you're sick or struggling for a while then make a difference

I was a sugar addict myself but not now. Once I started cutting out the sugar and carbs the cravings got less. This took 2-3 weeks but if you have a strong motivator it can help. I set a time for trying low carb to see if it would work to remit my diabetes; three months and my A1C was non diabetic (it's now been 2y 8m because I feel so much healthier eating this way). After only about 1 week I noticed that my sleep quality improved. I also started to lose some weight without trying. Q: Have you had a cardio calcium score done? Statins are the most prescribed drug on the planet. Its purpose is to lower cholesterol which they say will lower the risk of heart attack and stroke. The truth is that cholesterol is not the problem and never was. This truth will eventually be learned by all the patients that were prescribed statins (a lot of people). Those patients will be resentful and distrustful of pharmacy and doctors. The "truth" will be the demise of statins, not a new drug. Otherwise, these doctors will prescribe both statins and GLP-1 rather than explaining why their patient no longer needs to lower their cholesterol. GLP-1 is not needed by Keto / Carnivore. But you can be sure that GLP-1 will be more popular than Keto / Carnivore ever will be. I guess it is human nature to prefer to eat the junk and take a pill than to eat right. That is just my opinion Dr. Cywes. Love your channel. Thank you.

I had a stroke two months ago (in my vertebral arteries- it was a pre-existing condition either caused by stress or maybe even COVID infection a year ago [II did not get vaccinated]). I was (and am still) on a low carb diet. They could not find any blockages in my arteries other than the ones causes by the stroke (I consider this a function of the low-carb diet) The first of the hospitals (I was treated at three) almost immediately put me on statins and had me listed as “obese”. They didn’t even take weight measurements or calculate BMI on me. So, beside the anti-platelet/ coagulant meds (Brilinta), I’m taking Atorvastatin for the statin (which I am fighting my doctor on presently). Any help (even if it’s doctors not corrupted by the system) is appreciated.

And what is another term for high fat diet? Low carb diet. Or the low-inflammation diet. Sources of carbs? Grains/flours, sugars, sugary fruits, fake foods (processed foods), starchy veg.
