Interesting review! Dread Delusion looks fun. I think I will check it out. Elder Scrolls Advantures Redguard was the first 3D Elder Scrolls game. And the dice role combat does not incentivize not doing combat. Spells also have dice roles if not done through scrolls and if anything dice rolecombat encouarages to seek low level combat encounters in the early game to push the level of the combat skill. Morrowind also obviously has waypoints (you are showing them), I think you ment questmarkers? Going full action RPG in later games also has better reasoning than just persuing big budgets and profits. The way dice role combat is done in Morrowind is unique and special but that is also the case because it is an inherently flawed system for such a type of RPG. The older TES I and II handled their dice role combat better with mechanics like turns (going in to the inventory and drinking a potion makes you not being able to attack for a few seconds after closing the inventory) and they also made it more immersive with blocking sound effects if your attack missed, making it more seem like you did hit your enemy but that enemy was able to defend themself. It is also much easier to not break immersion with 2D sprites in dice role combat. Morrowind's combat in the end is very immersion breaking with weapons obviously touching enemies and no sound effects being played to show that your weapon just hit an enemy without doing anything. Morrowind goes further in to the action RPG direction than TES I and II but is not able to fully commit itself in the combat and while I like the combat because not many games like it have this type of combat, it is obviously why it was abondened. There is a rift between a game that tries to be super immersive and combat that is so unimmersive that people meme it and it is obviously telling that other action RPGs of thatt era, like Gothic 1 and 2, do not use this type of combat. [I am not even sure combat in Morrowind is harder than in later games, considering tthat it becomes quite easy and you will most likely be overleveled befor finishing all quest lines.]

100 percent agree with the combat. Also i feel like the reputation system is little underbaked along with the wikkin faction.

This game was a ton of fun for me . Best around 18 hours in a while.

They should fix their fucking lightning. God, I can barely even look at the thing, my eyes hurt, and I don't see there being any shadows either.

I wanted to like the game, but I couldn't get through the dialogues. They felt just way too artificial and broke immersion almost every time I'd interact with an NPC.
